Review - "Hades" by Alexandra Adornetto
Hades
(Halo #2)
by: Alexandra Adornetto
Publishing Date: 8/30/11
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Genre: YA
Source: Library Book
Buy: Amazon or Barnes and Noble
Description:
Heaven Help Her.
Bethany Church is an angel sent to Earth to keep dark forces at bay. Falling in love was never part of her mission, but the bond between Beth and her mortal boyfriend, Xavier Woods, is undeniably strong. But even Xavier’s love, and the care of her archangel siblings, Gabriel and Ivy, can’t keep Beth from being tricked into a motorcycle ride that ends up in Hell. There, the demon Jake Thorn bargains for Beth’s release back to Earth. But what he asks of her will destroy her, and quite possibly, her loved ones, as well.
The story that Alexandra Adornetto built in her New York Times-bestselling debut, Halo, comes alive in action-packed and unexpected ways, as angels battle demons, and the power of love is put to the test.

My Review:
(Originally Reviewed on Mrs. Papillion aka "The Book Worm")
Let me first say...this is my honest opinion on this book and I've noticed alot of reviews on this book being lowly rated. Everyone has their own opinion on books...and this is mine.
I personally enjoyed reading this book and I definitely loved the cliffhanger at the end. A lot of reviewers would say, this book was predictable and you knew what would happen. I wasn't expecting certain parts in the books...for example with what happened to Bethany in Hades. Xander and Bethany were put through so much in this book and they got through it. Xander wasn't stopping until he found Bethany. True Love and that's all I'm going to say. Bethany also wasn't going to stop until she found a way out of Hades. She befriended two souls who were tricked into Hades just like her.
In this book, we learn Bethany may have a bigger purpose and be stronger than anyone expected. Even her brother and sister, are amazed on what they find out about Bethany while she's in Hades.
I rated this book 4 full moons. I do wish the book had a little more action to it. It was predictable at points...but it had it's moments where you were like WHOA, what and why did that just happened. I also have to say...the cliffhanger was GREAT. I can't wait to see what Alexandra writes next in this series. What could possibly happen now to Xander and Bethany?
