Review - "Magic of the Moonlight" by Ellen Schreiber

Magic of the Moonlight
(Full Moon #2)
Publishing Date: 12/27/11
Publisher: HarperCollins Children's Books
Source: Library Book
Genre: YA

Description:
Beware of a bite under a full moon…
it will complicate your love life.

Celeste has more to worry about than a secret romance with a hot guy from the wrong side of town. That guy, Brandon, is a werewolf. With gossip and hostility swirling at school, it’s time to find a cure for his nocturnal condition, and perhaps the one person who can help is his scientist father. But what if a “cure” makes things worse and Brandon becomes a werewolf full time? And with rumors circulating that there are werewolves in Legend’s Run, is it possible that there is another among their classmates?
To keep Brandon’s secret safe, Celeste must hide her relationship with him from her best friends, but with the Moonlight Ball approaching, she must make a choice. Her dream is to go with her one true love—Brandon. But once the sun goes down, the clouds separate, and the full moon appears, could she really walk into the dance on the arm of a werewolf?
In this installment of the sumptuously romantic Full Moon series, Celeste faces her fears and her friends and finds out whether she’s strong enough to stand up for herself and her one true love.

My Review:
Well I'm not for sure if I'm going to read the 3rd book in the series or not.  The first book I gave 3 stars and this one I gave 2.5 stars.  That should tell you something.  I just wasn't a huge fan of the storyline of this book and Celeste is not my fave character at all.  When it comes to her friends, Celeste is follower and they are a leader.  She's afraid to tell them the truth and the worst part is her ex-boyfriend (or supposedly ex-boyfriend) is blackmailing her into dating him.  My fave character who Celeste is hiding from everyone, Brandon is trying to find out the legend of the werewolf curse.
I'm just not a fan of a whiny girl who can't say what she thinks to her friends.  She doesn't want to be shunned out of the circle.  Basically, she can't think for her damn self, everyone makes up her mind for her. It's driving me friggin' crazy.  Ahh!!
Why would you have friends that treat you that way and have a guy blackmail you?
Oh and the kicker is something happens in this book that I definitely was expecting.  Yup...no doubt about it...I was able to figure out the minute I found out the clues.  Of course the ending left you hanging.
I'm not a huge fan of this series so far.  I will give it one more try...maybe.  It depends on my reading pile at the time the 3rd book comes out.
I'm still a fan of the "Vampire Kisses" Series by Ellen which is sadly coming to the end.  Now the female and male character there are my favorite duo from Ellen.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves YA Paranormal...especially teens...but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend to any of my adult friends who are addicted to ADULT Paranormal.   They would probably stop reading after the first chapter.  That's my opinion though.
