Review - "The Claimed" by Caridad Pineiro

The Claimed
(Sin Hunters #2)
Author:  CaridadPineiro
Publisher:  Forever
Release Date: 4/24/12
Genre:  Paranormal Romance
Source: Provided by Author

Description
Victoria knows she has a responsibility towards her clan of Light Hunters but she also very much enjoys her normal human life. But that life doesn’t change the fact that her equinox is upon her and it’s time to choose a mate to bond with. She only wishes she could find someone who she can truly love too.

Christopher knows it’s time to break away from his father’s clan of Shadow Hunters because his father’s power hungry ways are putting Christopher and his own followers in danger. Fighting the effects from his equinox isn’t helping him one bit though. Finding a mate to bond with is top priority now and he thinks Victoria may be his perfect match…if only she wasn’t enemy.

The chemistry between the two is explosive but with dangerous enemies on both sides trying to keep them apart, can they finally find the happiness together that they both crave so much?

Review
This was a great addition to the Sin Hunter’s series, just like in the first book, the characters are well thought out and the story is well written. I love reading about characters that feel as if they could be real and Christopher and Victoria definitely gave me that feeling! The connection between the two is beautiful, they just fit so well together and it was nice to see them get their happy ending. And I should also add that the sex scenes between the two are pretty HOT is I do say so myself!!!

It was also great to learn more about the Hunter race, to finally understand a few things a little bit better. The first book in the series was more focused on Adam, who really didn’t know anything about whom or what he is, so there wasn’t a whole lot to learn. But in this book the story revolves more around important leaders in their race, so you get much more information about them because of that. This world that Caridad has built is fascinating; you can tell she put a lot of thought into it because the details are there.

I don’t suggest you read this book as a stand-alone novel, simply because there are some things that aren’t explained well in this second book, that are explained. I understood them because I’ve read the first book but it might be confusing to someone new to the series.

One thing that did bother me, it’s not a big deal so it didn’t affect my rating, but it was kinda predictable. Half way through I pretty much knew where it was going and how it would end, but that doesn’t change how much I love this series. Sometimes a little predictability is ok, this time it was for me.

I’m very much looking forward to the next book in the series. I really hope it will be Sammie’s story because I have a feeling I’m really going to love her since I did in this book also!

I give this book 5 Moons and I recommend it to any fan of PNR! Go get your copy today, you’ll love it as much as I did!!!
