A friend’s duty.
Tyler Murphy was an LAPD detective, single and happy—until a near-fatal tragedy crippled his friend, fellow detective Eric Catalano. While he supported Eric, he also became a shoulder for Eric’s wife, Delaney, to cry on. But with one naughty suggestion from Eric, a drunken night with Delaney spilled into erotic abandon. Before it was over Tyler saw his best friend’s wife as a woman and yearned for more. When Eric struggled to deal with the aftermath, Delaney begged Tyler to leave. Crushed, he fled to Louisiana, hoping to escape his longing for the one woman he could never have again…and unaware of what he’d left behind.
A lover’s desire.
After two years of living with regret, Tyler finds Delaney on his doorstep, her husband having abandoned her long ago. She’s protecting a shocking secret and desperately needs refuge from a killer determined to see her dead. As they fight to stay alive and catch the stalker, they struggle to resolve the guilt of their past pleasures. But they can’t deny that what was once a spark is now a flame burning out of control. To possess Delaney — body and soul — Tyler must heal her pain and thwart the evil that’s a mere breath behind her…
Devil's Gate

When it comes to love between a medusa and a Vampyre, it’s every man, woman, and snake for themselves.
A Novella of the Elder Races
As a coroner, medusa Seremela Telemar has always felt more comfortable chatting over a dead body than over drinks. But when her wild niece, Vetta, runs off to Devil’s Gate, a lawless town that has sprung up overnight in a modern-day gold rush, she knows she has to extricate her before the rebellious girl gets into real trouble. Though she’s confident in her head snakes’ ability to defend her against attackers, Seremela is still a bit nervous about braving this modern-day Wild West by herself.
Vampyre Duncan Turner is not about to let his new co-worker go into that chaos alone. His Vampyric power and lawyer smarts make him the perfect ally, and the fact that he already had his eye on Seremela for more…personal reasons, doesn’t hurt matters. Any romantic thoughts pull up short, however, when they arrive at Devil’s Gate and learn Vetta is set to hang by morning.
In order to save Vetta and themselves, Seremela and Duncan are going to have to fight fire with force and magic with fangs. And pray they make it out of Devil’s Gate alive.

Wolf Line

Publishing Date: 6/12/2012
Into the best-laid plans a little chaos must fall…
Jared’s not sure how his quiet morning coffee near the harbour ended with him on a cruise ship impersonating one of his pack mates. Well, it might have something to do with a woman, but who can blame him? The female of the species was made to love, and he’s more than willing to share his considerable skills in that area. Especially since he figures the chances of meeting his own one-and-only are slim.
Keri Smith is positive the last-minute recruit sneaking aboard the Arctic Wolf Cruise Lines tour is her mate. Ix-nay on confirming that, though, at least for the next ten days. She’s promised her best friend to be overall troubleshooter for the shifter-only cruise. Getting tangled up in mating lust would reduce her skills to nil. Avoidance of the sexy wolf for the duration of the cruise, followed by jumping his bones, seems the logical solution.
But when libidos are on the line, “logic” and “wolves” don’t go together. Throw in suspicions of wrongdoing, and these two virtual strangers will need a lot more than luck to find their way through to forever.
Warning: Really? You need to be warned about the hot nookie and sarcasm? Yeah, it’s in here. Also colourful cat shifters, lupine royalty, and wild adventures in cabins like you’ve never seen before.

The relationship is pretend. The chemistry…isn’t.
After her last job ended with a broken heart and a humiliating exit from the company, Shelby Leighton’s project management career is back on track with a new job and a high-profile project. The problem: her new boss is a little too friendly, and the staff is talking. Can you say, “déjà vu?” The solution: casually mention a fictional new boyfriend.
New problem: she’s expected to bring her new man to the upcoming corporate picnic.
Jake Magill doesn’t do relationships. It’s casual or nothing, but the hot blonde he’s been eyeing at the coffee shop sure is something. Especially when she confesses her problem, and he finds himself offering to act as her date.
Sounds simple. Stroll around the party with Shelby’s sexy curves clinging to his arm? He’s all over it. Until he meets her boss—the man who once stole and married the one woman Jake thought he loved.
Now Jake’s the one with a reason to pretend. If only to save his own pride…and Shelby from the predatory gaze of the man who could ruin her, and any chance of finding out if their fake connection is the real thing.

Review
These two wounded people coming together was a beautiful thing!
What a great start to a new series! I've read many of Elle's books and I gotta say, I love her writing, and this is at the top of my favorites list now. It was a really fantastic story full of action, adventure, humor and some pretty sexy love scenes. Oh and let's not forget the incredibly funny women assassins. Those chicks are seriously funny and I wouldn't ever cross them because they're pretty scary too.
From the very beginning of the book I was sucked in by Abby, I wanted to hug her and be her friend, I wanted to kill the people that hurt her and I seriously wanted to be her. She's one kick ass babe. She could fight with the big boys, literally! Kane, well he's my dream man really. I sure do love the big bad wounded soldiers and he's definitely that. He doesn't like to show feeling but when he did, man it was so sweet! No one could have handled Abby as well as him and it was really heart warming to see Abby finally open up to someone and the banter between the two was so funny! They really are the perfect match!
I loved the other characters as well, especially the women! I'm really looking forward to the next book which I'm assuming is going to be Trevor and Isabel's book from reading the sneak peek at the end of the book. Now that is sure to be one great story! Both of them are sure to be put up one hell of a fight and boy do I love that! ;)
This book was well written, just like any Elle Kennedy book is, and the characters are well developed. I'm very much looking forward to reading future installments in this series. I give this book 4.5 Moons and I recommend it to all Elle Kennedy fans, Romantic Suspense fans and most contemporary Romance fans too. Now go buy your copy because you're sure to love it as much as I did.

Description:
Kael, Warrior King of
the Vampires, loathes the Night of the Proffering. He needs the blood of
either his mate or a human virgin to maintain his strength, but hasn't
enjoyed the ritual since he lost his mate centuries ago. Kael doesn't
want a new companion, yet his resolve is tested when he lays eyes on his
new offering, Shayla McKinnon. He is drawn to Shayla's beauty and
poise...and the submission she offers. She is eager to give him anything
he wishes, including her innocence, to please him. Will Kael give in to
their overwhelming desire—even if it means risking Shayla's life?

My Review:
I finished this book and now want more of this series. Thank goodness the next book comes out June 1st. =) I'm a HUGE fan of Vampires and the Series name alone "Vampire Warrior Kings" definitely had me intrigued to read "In the Service of the King".
The cover helps also. =)
Kale is the Warrior King of the Vampires. He is forced to participate in the night of proferring even though he doesn't want to. He lost his mate centuries ago and he has never wanted another mate or even be with a Proferred. Proferred is a human woman that offers her blood for the service of the king and other things...so he can keep his humanity and help his kind. Shayla McKinnon is chosen as Kael's Proferred. When Kael meets her, he is instantly enthralled. He doesn't want to be though. He misses his mate, but for some reason he can't stop thinking that Shayla could be destined for him. Shayla is happy to help the King, she's thought about this day for awhile now. She wants to avenge her sister's death that happened awhile ago and she always wanted to be there to help the Vampire Warrior King in anyway possible.
Everything is going wrong though, she's being the perfect submissive, but Kael is being standoffish at first and then something happens, which makes her think it's her fault. He does things to her, she wasn't really expecting.
I do not want to go any further into telling the book because I'll spoil the good parts. Instead, I'll tell you my thoughts on this book. I loved it!! Have I said that already? I had a hard time putting it down. I'm intrigued over Vampires. I don't think I'll have stop reading about them. To come across this book through Laura Kaye's Street Team, I just had to read it. I would've finished it within a hour, but motherly duties and college homework took precedence several times yesterday.
I love the concept of this series. Kael is one difficult Vampire Warrior King though in the beginning. It took him awhile to realize what his destiny was. I loved Shayla and how she tried everything to win over Kael. She was the prefect Proferred for him. She was trained to be the perfect Proferred and I think it scared Kael a bit at first.
I loved the steamy scenes between them both. I had to re-read them sometimes because I wanted to drag out the book a little longer because I didn't want it to end and of course the best parts to re-read is the scenes between the characters. Oh yes!
I found it fascinating to read the Gaelic (Irish) language even though I do not understand it. I will have to learn it now (I am part Irish). Maybe one day I'll visit Ireland and I'll probably never come back to the States. =)
I loved reading about the mating at the end of the book. Definitely different to any other matings I've read in other books.
I look forward to reading the next book when it comes out tomorrow. I will be buying it and reading it as soon as I get up in the morning.
I recommend this book to vampire lovers out there, to paranormal romance readers, and readers who just want to take a trip through Ireland with this delicious Vampire Warrior King.
I found myself reading in a Irish accent when I read Kael's part of some reason, once I realized this book was based in Ireland. It's a habit I can't break. =)
This is a must read so add it to your TBR list. =)

Anna:
I couldn't really think of one I've lost or forgotten about but I did find a couple of future releases that I forgot about. July is sure to be a HOT month with these two books coming out.

Here's
my excuse on why I haven't read it. I was pregnant at the time with my

brain was not working properly. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to
it.
This book is staring at me on my
bookshelf, taunting me to read it, but I have other books that need to
be reviewed first. Ahhh!!
I even have The Darkest Seduction on my Kindle waiting on me.
I will read it before "Wicked Nights" comes out next month. I promise!!

Where she tells us the Inspiration of her Writing:
Getting in the Mood
to Create: My Writing Inspirations
The topic of writing inspiration is really interesting for
me to think about. I find inspiration in so many things, it almost seems
impossible to narrow it down to a select few. The funny thing is the things
that help me create my stories have a huge divide. I can just as easily find
inspiration in a marathon of Supernatural
on the CW as equally as a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Old Writings
Were you as angsty as I was during your teen years? Besides
being dirt poor, I was socially awkward with a penchant for playing the
trombone. To say the least, my dance card was far from full. Instead of a
social life, I filled notebook after notebook of dreadfully melodramatic
stories of characters with the lives I coveted. They were beautiful, rich and
had amazing love lives. After my beloved grandmother passed away last year, I
retrieved my writings from her home. Although most of the work was crap, I did
find a few storylines worth developing. A book of my favorite poems as a teen
was also in the collection and helped me tap back into that creativity of my
youth.
Getting Away From It All
I LOVE my husband and sons with all of my heart. However,
temper tantrums and diaper duty doesn’t lend well to creative inspiration.
Going for a solo drive or having a chance to people watch can really give me a
chance to work on current stories or find new characters or plot points to fit
into future writings. Taking the boys for walks can really help with my
inspiration as well. As they play, I can let my mind wander.
Books/TV Shows/Movies
I’m big on escapist shows, movies and books. Even the
reality TV shows I watch are not really steeped in reality (The Bachelorette?
You get to live in a mansion and travel the world while 20 gorgeous guys vie
for your hand in marriage. I would guess not too many people have this kind of
life). Watching these crazy scenarios play out on screen or on the page helps
me get my mind in the place it needs to be to write about paranormal things. Although
I definitely watch and read a lot of paranormal stuff, I try to vary genres and
also enjoy romantic comedies, thrillers and real-life mysteries.
Music and art are definitely major inspirations as well and
I love to spend the day writing after a trip to the museum or attending a
concert. Although I could probably write a novel on the topic, these are the
most significant. It’s exceedingly important to identify the things that
inspire you since this can be such a huge help in overcoming writer’s block.

Synopsis:
Two
years ago, 21-year-old Kate Edwards became deathly ill and slipped into a coma.
While unconscious, she crept into the mind of a missing boy and awoke with the
knowledge of his location. Friends and family were skeptical and wary of her
new ability to see into the minds of others. Their fears prompted Kate to keep
her psychic powers a secret. Feeling alienated, she dropped out of college and
spent most of her days holed up at her mother’s home.
Now
another child has been abducted. Police detective Jared Corbett seeks out Kate
for her help in solving the case. Reluctantly, Kate agrees and they must work
together to bring 8-year-old Cori Preston home to her family. Although
attracted to one another, Jared has a girlfriend with ties to the abduction
case and Kate is sarcastic and guarded since her coma. With visions she can’t
control and an uncontrollable attraction to the detective, she wonders if she
can leave the past behind and finally stop hiding from the world. Otherwise,
Cori may be lost forever.
Excerpt:
Kate comes to Jared’s
apartment to give him information about Cori’s abduction:
I shouldn’t be here, Kate told herself for the
millionth time. She had no idea what possessed her to come to the detective’s
apartment. Weariness had set in after driving around for hours with
intermittent crying spells. As it grew later and stores closed, she had the
inspiration to head over and provide an explanation to Jared on the reasoning
behind her lies. She had been shocked when he answered the door shirtless. If
she wasn’t such a damn head case at the moment, she might have tried to jump
him right then and there. He was perfectly built with lean and hard muscles.
She imagined throwing herself against his chest and him wrapping his strong
arms around her. I really need a boyfriend, she lamented silently.
He returned wearing a t-shirt and khakis. “Where’s
your girlfriend?” she blurted hoping the reminder of his other half would
prevent her from slipping into a frenzied state of lust again.
“She’s staying at her parents. Why don’t you sit
down?” he motioned to a chair at the kitchen table.
She did a quick survey of the apartment. Instantly,
it became obvious his girlfriend did most of the decorating. A modern white
leather sofa set was situated in the living room while the kitchen had this
sort of country chic thing going on. A small eat-in area was outfitted with a
table for two complemented with a lace tablecloth and white French chairs. The
apartment had an open floor plan with the living room, dining room and kitchen
all connected with open doorways. It looked as though a master bedroom and a
spare bedroom were situated down the hallway.
After they had both settled into their chairs, he
questioned, “How did you find out where I lived?”
She gave him an incredulous look. “I’m psychic,
remember?”
He looked uncomfortable.
“Oh.”
She rolled her eyes at him. “Jeez, you’re gullible. I
put your name in Google and got your address,” she answered. “By the way, for a
detective, that’s a pretty dumb move not to have your listing private. Any
random psycho could show up at your door in the middle of the night.”
“Well, you have the dubious honor of being my first
late night Google stalker,” he answered.
“Awesome,” she sighed. Kate felt drained at the
moment and the speech she had rehearsed in the car on the way here escaped her.
“It’s been a long day.”
“Are you ok? Sorry about creating a wedge between you
and your mother. I never meant to complicate things for you. Have you spoken to
her yet?” He was watching her closely.
“No, I need a little space. I’m not going home
tonight.” His disapproval was written clearly across his face. “Don’t give me
that look. I need a day to process things. If I talk to her now, I doubt I’ll
be rational.”
“I don’t know. I think you should at least call her…”
he started.
She gave him a sharp look. “I’m not asking you,
Detective Corbett, I’m telling you. I’m spending the night at my friend Julie’s
house. After I leave, you could phone my mom and pass the information along if
you want. Seems as though you’ve become besties overnight.” She swallowed hard.
“Anyway, I’m not here to discuss my mom. I want to tell you about the vision I
had about Cori.”
He nodded and she described everything she saw in the
dream in excruciating detail. Stopping only to answer a few questions he had
during her recital, she could sense his disappointment over the vague
description of the kidnapper. The words about the fall down the stairs were
stuck in her throat and it took a few tries for her to force them out.
“I’m sorry I don’t have more to tell you. Physically,
he was tall and wiry with dark eyes. The ski mask and his clothing hid any
other distinguishing features. I wish I did see his face because I got the
impression he was somehow connected to the family.”
“Why do you say that?”
“He mentioned her father. The way he said ‘your rich
daddy’ with such malice made me feel like the break-in was a personal attack
against him.”
His eyes were intense and serious as Jared asked, “Do
you think she’s…dead?”
She closed her eyes and felt an overwhelming sadness.
“I can’t tell you for sure. I’m sorry. The fall was probably not hard enough to
kill her and most likely she only lost consciousness for a short period of
time. I’m guessing she was alive last night though. My visions don’t normally
fit into a pattern. One night I might dream about an abduction, the next I
could see my parents on a date as teenagers.
However, a few things have been pretty consistent.
For one, I don’t seem to receive visions from the dead. If Cori had been
killed, it’s not likely I would’ve been able to see how she was abducted.”

Review
I think I've fallen in love with this family! Seriously, these men are HOT!!! This was a great book and just what I needed at the time I read it. Perfect quick, sexy read for you summer readers. I've read Anne's books before but they were only ever good for me, this book however, is fan-freaking-tastic! She's out done herself with these characters. Nothing like a family full of big, sexy men who know how to use their hands....in more ways than one (if you catch my drift).
The characters and setting for this series are written very well. I wasn't confused by which brother was which because she didn't throw too much info at me at once. I like that she left a couple of the brothers a big mystery. I can't wait to get to their books! The love scenes are so so sexy and very steamy. I would love to have a man like Sam all to myself. Julie is one lucky woman to have found him! And no one deserves happiness and family as much as she does. What a great woman to do what she did and put her life on hold. Sam is my ideal kind of man too, big, sexy, honorable and so sweet. They really made a great couple and by the end of the book I was rooting for them to make it together.
I give this book 4 Moons and I recommend it to all those that enjoy erotica, erotic romance and even some contemporary romance lovers would love it too. Now on to Vance!

Beg For It
(Pact of Seduction #2)
by: Stacey Kennedy
Publishing Date: 5/29/12
Publisher: Loose Id
Genre: Erotica
Source: Provided by Author
Buy: Loose Id
Description:
The Pact of Seduction
has one rule—fulfill your ultimate fantasy. Bella’s problem, she can’t
live up to her vow. But her failure spins events that lead her into
unknown territory. Kole, a Dom at the sex club Castle Dolce Vita, wasn’t
part of her fantasy, but he’s about to show her he should have been.
Kole is more than willing to introduce Bella to BDSM since he’s held an interest in her for some time. But the feisty woman isn’t easily tamed and her strong personality proves to be difficult. While she might be determined to keep him at a distance, Kole has other ideas. He won’t allow her to shut him out.
A pact between best friends brought them together, emotional barriers tear them apart. Kole skillfully reminds Bella through pleasure and punishment that she is now his submissive, and her place is under his command.
Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: BDSM theme and elements, including spanking.

My Review:
This book is meant for 18 & Over Readers.
Why do I put the warning ahead of time...because if your not used to BDSM...you will probably be uncomfortable reading this book and this book is not meant for the younger readers.
I finished "Beg For It" within a hour. I basically sleep depraved myself to read "Beg For It" tonight.
I received a advance reading copy from Stacey Kennedy earlier this evening and jumped at the chance to read "Bind Me" first and then proceeded into "Beg For It".
Hello...I'm a huge fan of Stacey Kennedy. =)
This book is about Kole, who is a criminal lawyer by day, but at night he is a dominant at the sex club, Castle Dolce Vita. (He's one Sexy, scary Man...who I adore now after reading this book)
And it's about Bella, a stockbroker at Baltimore's top lending investment business, who I read from the previous book. She was the one who thought up the Pact of Seduction with her best friends. She wanted the ladies to fulfill their deepest darkest desires and so did she.
In the beginning of the book Bella is with Raven (who also was in the previous book). Bella has always fantasized about being with a woman. Unfortunately, it seems her mind is not with it and neither is her body. She feels like she failed the pact once she realizes her fantasy isn't playing out the way she thought.
When she's at Reed and Kole's party at their condo...she can't stop noticing Kole. Kole can't stop noticing her either. He's had a thing for her since the first time he saw her. He wants her to be his submissive. His roommate Reed, thinks that's a bad idea because Kole is a Dom that loves PAIN. Not those...light spank on the butt kind of pain...but the pain that leaves bruises and of course other things.
Kole is determined to make Bella his submissive. They end up talking to each other and lets her know what he wants to do. She's never really been into the BDSM fantasy...until Marley, her best friend became addicted and hooked up with Reed (another Dom).
When she hooks up with Kole at the Sex Club, Castle Dolce Vita..things go a little far for her taste and Kole's pushes her...but she's lying to herself and Kole. She really just doesn't know how to show her feelings about what Kole did.
Kole is wanting Bella to "Beg For It". He knows she's not used to begging and she loves to push people away. He wants to change that though and make her realize she can be more submissive than she thinks.
No more spoiling the book to anyone who hasn't read it. =)
My thoughts on the 2nd book to the series Pact of Seduction...was WOW!!
I thought Reed had me squirming while reading "Bind Me". No...Kole made me squirm and almost fall off of my sofa. Seriously, one scary, but sexy dominant man. He pushed Bella so hard and she tried so hard the first time to do what he wanted, but couldn't. It was all about trust with her. She had been through so many other previous relationships that let her down, she just didn't know how to let Kole take over for her. He was one patient guy though with her. He knew from the beginning what he was getting himself into. Bella on the other hand, who was warned from the beginning from her best friend Marley, still managed to be nervous.
I loved how both of this characters met each other and I knew from "Bind Me" that Bella was going to have a strong Male character that she fell for. She is one strong, sassy woman and Kole definitely proved to her what she desired in this book.
Again, there were moments in this book that was uncomfortable, but that's because Kole was such a pain-streaked Dom. I had to get used to him and the way he was.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves the genre Erotica and BDSM. You'll get some flogging, hard-ass spanking & smacking, some candle wax...and much, much more. Just be prepared for some steamy, sexy, mind-blowing scenes between Kole and Bella.
I look forward to the third book in the series. I want to know who Kyra and Sadie end up with and what their secret fantasies are.

Happy Release Day to Stacey Kennedy - Promo: Beg For It
It's Release Day to One of my FAVE Authors, Stacey Kennedy.

Teaser:
Only one thing would save Bella
now—a stiff drink. Reed and Kole’s parties were always fun, and it was nice to
see new friends she’d made over the past month. But her mood was right in the
toilet. It’d been that way all day and had only gotten worse since she joined
the party. She shouldn’t have come.
She cursed on a low breath. How in the hell was she going to get out of her current predicament? Originally, it’d been she who offered the idea of the pact of seduction, and she couldn’t even commit. Pathetic.
Marley’s giggle drew her attention, and Reed had pulled her onto his lap, nibbling at her neck. As horrible as it was, jealously surged. Maybe she had hoped that her fantasy would fill that empty void in her soul. Sure, it was meant as something sexually fun, but Bella craved something…
A part of her remained unfulfilled, even if she didn’t understand exactly what was missing. All she knew, her life at this moment was boring with a side of totally sucks.
She glanced over at Kyra, who laughed with Sadie, and nudged her arm. “I’ll be back. I need some air.”
“Sure.” Kyra’s green eyes were a little glassy. The wine clearly had gotten to her. “Want some company?”
“Nah.” She plastered on a fake smile. “I won’t be long.”
Kyra gave a nod, then turned her attention back at Sadie as the two chuckled about something Sadie had said. If only Bella had something to laugh about. She rose from the couch and made her way through the crowd.
As she passed, she noticed a man sitting on the ottoman and a woman knelt at his feet with her arms over his legs. The position appeared casual enough, but it also looked…different. As if the woman enjoyed being at his feet. Another spurt of jealously soared, and she gave her head a good hard shake. She was apparently envious of everyone who had a relationship. And since when had she been jealous of a BDSM relationship?
What’s gotten into you?
She made her way through the living room and stepped out onto the balcony. The cool air brushed against her skin, and she shivered. Winter still hung on in Baltimore, but what a strange winter it’d been—snow one day, mild the next. Tonight was brisk, but that only seemed to help cool off the annoyance burning her blood.
With her glass in her hands, she leaned on the railing and glanced over the city. Reed and Kole’s condo had an amazing view and the lights twinkled below.
She sipped at her drink and pondered her situation. How could she plan another fantasy when the only one she wanted she had yet to fully accept herself? And why was she acting like a bitter idiot?
After a long gulp that had her cringing from the aftertaste, a deep voice interrupted her useless thoughts. “I heard last night didn’t go well.”
She lowered the glass, licked the moisture on her lips, and looked next to her to find Kole. Like always in his presence, butterflies fluttered in her stomach, but she squashed them and kept her voice controlled. “That’s putting it lightly.”
His blond stylish hair framed a face worth a second look, and his dark blue eyes shone with a power that made her melt. He leaned against the railing beside her, cocked his head, and she felt the weight of his stare right down to her toes. “Tell me about it.”
She sipped her drink, mortified to her bones that she had to admit this to Kole. “It wasn’t Raven’s fault. I”—she drew in a deep breath and said quickly—“I always thought my fantasy was to be with a woman, but clearly it’s not.”
“Ah, I see.” He took a gulp of his beer before he lowered it. “You didn’t get off, I’m assuming?”
She snorted. “If laughing in her face means that I didn’t get off, then yes, I didn’t get off.”
He chuckled, the sound so seductive Bella quivered. In response to that odd reaction, she examined him and couldn’t stop from admiring the view.
He was dressed in a pair of dark jeans that no doubt hugged his fine ass, and a black T-shirt that was snug around the muscles beneath. Good God. She licked her lips for reasons that had nothing to do with her drink.
“You didn’t follow through with your part of the pact, then?”
Her gaze lifted to his face. The glint in his eyes declared he’d been quite aware of her admiring him. Hell, she’d lusted after him since the day they met. A strong sexual attraction existed between them that she hadn’t experienced before with any man, especially a Dom.
She blinked and focused away from the warmth that formed between her thighs. “That’s right. I bailed on the pact.”
His gaze became penetrating as his tone dipped lower. “Why don’t you arrange another night with someone else for your fantasy?”
“Because”—her muscles stiffened, and after a long sigh, she grimaced—“I have no idea what that fantasy is now.”
“Such a problem for a woman to have,” he mused.
She gulped at the way his voice seemed to carry into her soul; then she lowered her head to avoid eye contact with him. He raised his bottle to his mouth, and his arm brushed against hers. Tingles zinged through her, and she squeezed her thighs together to ease the throb of her clit.
How did he make her body do that? Every time he was near, she all but sizzled, and when he touched her, everything was amplified.
“I see that you need help, then, in finding what you’re looking for.”
It hadn’t sounded like a question, which she was glad for since her tight throat made it impossible to answer. He slid his finger along her arm, slowly and with clear intent to unravel her.
She bit her bottom lip. “W-what does that mean?”
He tucked his finger under her chin and lifted her head. “I think we both know what I mean.” Those eyes of his burned with the lust that he had obviously contained. “You enjoy my attention, and I’d enjoy you under my command.”
Then he pressed a finger on the back of her hand and danced his touch up her arm. His gaze followed his caresses every step of the way. And damn him if she didn’t close her eyes and shudder.
A scrape of his nail along her skin drew her eyes open, and he grinned with sin. “Look how beautifully you react to me.” He finally reached her shoulder, and she trembled under the softness of his touch that seemed to contradict that power oozing from him. He tucked his fingers back under her chin, drew her head up, and stared intently into her eyes.
Searching for what, she had no idea.
His hold tensed, a shift in his gaze appeared that made her stomach flip-flop, and her panties were now soaked. He leaned in, pressed his lips against hers, and the world froze. His luscious and damn well perfect mouth molded with hers as his silky tongue swept her away. When had anyone ever kissed her like this?
Oh, right—never.
He kissed her thoroughly, leaving no part of her mouth untouched; then he backed away but kept hold of her chin. “It’s time to stop ignoring what your body needs and accept that you want to be dominated.”
Hell, how right was he? Maybe BDSM wasn’t her fantasy when she made the pact of seduction with her friends, but after hearing about it from Marley, her interest had grown. She lifted a lazy shoulder to appear nonchalant. “I suppose if I set up a scene with you, that would be a solution to my problem.”
“Not good enough.” His gaze hardened. “Do you want me to take you into a scene, Bella?”
At his pause, she realized she needed to give a better answer, and she nodded. “I do.”
He examined her for a long moment before he finally said, “Now what are your interests in BDSM?”
She melted at the way he stared at her now. So intense. So wicked. Was this a hint of what he’d look like in a scene? Her body flushed, yet she held her focus and lifted her chin. She had always prided herself on staying strong around powerful men.
Her job as a stockbroker in Baltimore’s top lending investment firm meant she swam with the sharks. Most of her coworkers were authoritative men. If she’d showed weakness, she wouldn’t be where she was today, and she’d worked hard for her position.
“I’m interested in”—her throat went dry. All these fantasies she hadn’t admitted to anyone. Was she really going through with this? Her soaking panties declared it so—“ropes, sex toys, floggers, to be controlled, pleasure, and pain.” She raised her glass to her mouth and tried to ignore the way her hands shook.
Before the rim could reach her lips, Kole snatched the glass from her hands and set it on the ground next to him. “If we’re discussing this and you are serious, you will stop drinking.”
A flare of irritation rose up that he’d be so bold to take her drink right out of her hands, yet Marley had said that Castle Dolce Vita Doms never allowed submissives to drink alcohol in a scene to ensure they were clearheaded. And since they were discussing what would happen between them, she let it go. “Okay.”
He gave a short nod. “Now I want to make sure you’re well aware of what will happen and what I expect of you.” His gaze searched hers, seemingly looking right through her. “And I need to be sure that I’m the correct Dom for you.”
“I don’t want anyone else,” she blurted out before she could stop herself.
His eyebrows rose. “I don’t mind your answer, Bella.” A small grin turned up the corners of his mouth. “But do tell—have you put more thought into this than you’re letting on?”
Her cheeks had never burned so hot, but she wouldn’t be that woman who’d stumble around a man. She stuffed her nervousness away, clasped her hands, and demanded her voice to be strong. “Maybe once or twice.”
She’d been aware of the mutual attraction between them, so two could play his game. “Are you trying to deny you haven’t thought about it too?”
He winked. “Maybe once or twice.”
A flutter whipped around inside her, her palms grew clammy, and she squeezed her fingers. Why did he make her act so…knocked off her axis?
“One thing that needs to be discussed is my expectations.” He glanced at her hands for a moment as if he took in her reaction before he looked back into her eyes. “From what I know of you as you are now, you’d struggle to meet them. And I want to make that clear so you know what you’re getting yourself into.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” she snapped. “Why would I struggle to meet your demands?”
He gave his head a slow shake. “I’m not saying it to insult you, but to give you a stern warning. I don’t play lightly.”
“Well, I…” Her entire face burned hot as if she had a high-grade fever. Marley had told her all about Kole. How he enjoyed pain play. How strict he was in how a submissive behaved. And all it’d done was increase the throb between her thighs. Solidified the fantasy. “I think I might like that.”
He gave a delicious smile. “I have no doubt you would.”
And then his lips were back on hers as he swept her away in another leg-wobbling kiss before those plush lips tore away from hers.
“You’ll arrive at the castle next Friday at seven o’clock. I’ll have a room reserved.” He dropped his head, his eyes in the direct line of hers. “When you arrive, remove your clothes, kneel in the center of the room, and wait for me. Clear?”
Heat spread across her body at the images playing in her head. Nude? Kneeling? Oh God! She quivered in anticipation.
At his expectant expression, she nodded instead of offering him a breathy response.
“Good.” He took her mouth again playfully, nibbled on the corners of her lips, and flicked her lips with his tongue. And when he had her body ramped up to a fever pitch, he backed away to trail his thumb over her lips. “Can you be honest and open with me?”
Drool, honest-to-God drool, formed in her mouth. Everyday Kole was sexy. Dom Kole was to die for. The sheer power that exuded from him, intensity in his features, it all captivated her. He’d asked her to be honest with him—how hard could that be? “I can do that.”
He nodded in approval, skimmed her mouth again with his thumb, while his gaze stayed focused there. The smile he gave, the possessiveness held in the depths of his eyes, liquefied her insides.
Something sparked through his touch, only increasing with his kiss, and even more so by the way he looked at her now. One of those duh moments. Had what she wanted—desired—been standing right in front of her this entire time?
In less than a week, she’d have the answer.
