Blog Tour: "Enslaved in Shadows" by Tigris Eden (Review/Giveaway)
Welcome to our Blog Tour stop on "Enslaved in Shadows" by Tigris Eden. Brought to you by Reading Addiction Book Tours. Here you can read the book's synopsis, a excerpt from the book, my review on "Enslaved in Shadows", the author's bio, and a chance to win a copy of "Enslaved in Shadows" and a charm bracelet.
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Date Published: June 18, 2012
Synopsis:
A man's Past leads to his Future......
Agent Stone of the Shadow Unit's job is simple, most days. Work in the Shadows, police his own Kind.
When an unwanted assignment turns out to be his darkest fantasy from the past, Draven can't help but be conflicted by the memories of the past and his responsibilities in the future. But his decision has been made.
The Heart of a woman is Tested........
Jes can't let the tall dark agent back into her life.
How can she trust any man after what she's endured? Years of abuse have broken her down and she doesn't have room for more. The man she turns to for help hasn't abused her physically but he's tormented her emotionally. A past betrayal left her scarred, but also brought her life.
Can she accept him into her heart and trust him again?
One will survive and adapt, the other will realize hearts can be mended even if it’s a bit too late.
The road to forgiveness sometimes only brings more pain. Unexpected events set their lives on two separate tracks leading to one outcome. Lives will be changed and an emotional battle to save their souls will leave them both trapped and enslaved in their need for one another.

My Review:
"Enslaved in Shadows" is Tigris Eden's debut novel...and it's definitely an AMAZING debut novel to her series Shadow Unit. I had a hard time putting it down. Let's just say the first few chapters was a sexy, scorcher read. Wow!
Jesminda has never done anything out of character until she's on vacation and ends up coming across one sexy man who drives her wild. Draven is actually on an assignment while Jesminda is on vacation. He never expected a woman to peek his interest like Jesminda does. In fact, he shouldn't be interested with her since she's human and he's not.
The book then picks up five years later and Jesminda and Draven end up running into each other again, but this time Draven, who is apart of the Shadow Unit must protect Jesminda from her ex-husband and his company.
I could go into detail more about this book, but I will end up spoiling the book for someone who wants to read it. There was so much going on in the book and the ending was a doozy.
If you like happily ever afters.....well...let's just say Tigris Eden throws you off at the ending. Sorry...not spoiling it for you.
I loved the characters in this book. I'm actually in love with Royce. Oh yes...he's very mysterious and just a smart ass and the way he's described, doesn't help either. He also has a twin brother...but he seems to be a little too mysterious for me. One part of the book grossed me out with him.
I love Tigris Eden's writing style and how different it is. I love the story she created for "Enslaved in Shadows" and I definitely loved the cliffhanger.
I love Draven...oh...how I love Draven. *sigh*
I also like Jesminda and how she was put through hell, but was able to stand up against certain people in the book.
Although, I did find myself re-reading parts of the book because I did not understand what was going on because it would go by pretty quickly.
This definitely is a great start to a series. I definitely plan on reading the next book. I want to know what the hell is going to happen next since that cliffhanger pissed me off. (but in a good way)
I recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance, loves characters that can have you laughing, and for readers who always love a good cliffhanger.

Author Bio
My name is Katina Jewel Hernandez pen
name Tigris Eden. I am eternally 29 years old. I love to write, read, and
listen to music, watch movies, and travel. My biggest goal right now is to be
waited on hand and foot. Possibly a group of hot cabana boys, maybe two or
three door men, a butler and personal chef and driver, for now. I adore oatmeal
crème cookies and long walks to my pillow. I’m pretty laid back and I love to
laugh.
I’m an ex-military brat, and have
been to a number of wonderful places. I’ve been writing for as long as I was
able to put pen to paper. I use to write music and play flute. So if it wasn’t
music notes jumping at me to be put on paper it was words. True story: When I
was growing up in Germany my father and I watched a lot of musicals. Sound of
Music, Annie…. You name it I’ve watched and probably know the words by heart.
Anyway, I thought life was a musical and my first day of school I sang the
entire day. Whether it was hello, my name is Katina or can I go to the
restroom. Two years later I was asked to write about my very first day of
school. When I wrote my story the teacher didn’t believe me, told me I was a
big story teller. So I’ve been telling stories ever since, whether it was with
music or words.
I live in Cypress, Texas with my Husband
LL and my boys Darryl Joseph and Andrew and a newly acquired puppy name Kastor.
When I’m not writing, I’m balancing payroll taxes, moving state wages, or
answering that age old question. “Why don’t my wages in box 1 equal what’s on my
pay stub.
Excerpt from Enslaved in Shadows:
The men in
the conference room settled back in their seats and Gabe led her over to a
chair while Oliver put his head in his hands and plopped down in a chair to his
right. She couldn’t tell if he was exhausted or not, he looked perfect. A man
at the very end of the table stood and approached her; his long strides ate up
the distance until he stood inches in front of her. He was taller than even
Gabe. A giant. Long mahogany dreads fell to the middle of his back. He wasn’t
dressed like the others. He wore a Valentino suit without the jacket and a
white linen button up shirt rolled at the sleeves, strong masculine arms were
roped in thickly veined muscles. He had a silver torque around his neck. It
gleamed bright against his bronze skin, and his face was aristocratic. Hard
edges and a straight nose, but it was his eyes that were the most alarming, a
shade of violet than she’d ever seen, dark amethyst, fathomless and arrogant.
Immortals always had that extra flare humans didn’t, and this immortal had an
extra helping.
He grinned a
knowing grin. One that said he knew he was every woman's fantasy come to life.
If she hadn’t sworn men off, he would definitely be the object of her desire.
Hot, dirty sex was pouring off this man in waves. If she weren’t careful, she’d
get sucked under.
“I’m Captain
Dravaggio,” his hand warm and strong gripped hers. “Thank you for agreeing to
meet with me and my team.”
He quickly
introduced her to the men in the room. There were a set of twins that sat
across from her; one was smiling, as he lit a red cigarette, blowing the smoke
in her direction and the other glared. She didn’t really take in their looks
because stupid her was still eye fucking the captain. What was it about him? It
made her want to jump out of her seat and onto him. There were some other names
tossed about some guy she think she heard him called Adam and another guy he
referred to as Hawke. Then there was Gabe and Oliver. Dravaggio was saying
something about missing team members and apologizing for their absence when the
guy with the red smoke was sitting directly next to her now. How the hell did
he get so close without her noticing?
“And, because you are so enamored with our captain,” he held out his
hand and grabbed hers, breaking her out of the trance. “I’m Royce. Resident
badass, all around swell motherfucker, and every woman's dream come true. Very
nice to meet you.”
