Mini Review - "Her Christmas Pleasure" by Karen Erickson

Her Christmas Pleasure
(The Merry Widows)
Author: Karen Erickson
Publisher: Carina Press
Release Date: 11/28/2011
Genre: Erotica
Source: NetGalley

Description
Damien Morton has been in love with beautiful Celia for a while now but Celia is Damiens deceased best friends widow and he can't bring himself to tell her how he feels. Damien feels he is not good enough for Celia because he's not a titled gentleman and is in fact a servant to Celia's father in law. So instead of honoring his promise to care for her and watch over Celias son, Damien plans to move away because the temptation has become to strong.

Celia has finally gotten over her husbands death, she'll never forget him but the time has come to move on. Damien has always been a great friend to her, always there for her and her son but now she sees him as more than just a friend and she doesn't know how to tell him that. Thanks to fate and a little mistletoe she gets her first glimpse of hope when Damien kisses her, even though the kiss is innocent and brief. But Celia is determined to break through Damiens armor and show him he is exactly who she wants. If she can convince him before he leaves she'll finally get her happy ending.

Review
(This review was previously published on Diary of a Romance Addict & has been moved here)
This book was short and sweet! I always love Karen's books but I think this one is my favorite. It was so sweet and very steamy! Damien, bless his heart, wants to do right by his best friend and his best friends widow but his version of right is leaving her. That was very frustrating and incredibly sweet at the same time. But Celia had a different idea and good for her because she goes after Damien with one purpose, get him to see her and see he's perfectly good enough for her. I love short reads like this because I can sit down and within an hour or hour and a half I'm done. Sometimes I need to know the whole story right now and these types of books are just for that. Overall I give this book 4.5 Moons and I can't wait to read the next book!
