Blog Tour: "Kissed by a Vampire" by Caridad Pineiro

Today we have Caridad Pineiro here on the blog. We were lucky enough to get to interview her! And make sure you check out the giveaway!!!

Kissed by a Vampire
by Caridad Pineiro
October 16, 2012
Harlequin Nocturne

A vampire who has given up on love gets a second chance from a most unlikely mortal…
For two thousand years, vampire elder Stacia has roamed on her own, haunted by the betrayal that turned her into a creature of the night. Her nights looming empty and eternal, Stacia longs for love, but settles for quick bites and sinful pleasures in South Beach. Until she comes face-to-face with the unforgettable DEA agent she once brought back from the brink of death.
Alex Garcia knows that demons exist-the real kind, the kind that are kidnapping women and selling them into slavery. Finding those victims is his focus-not a beautiful seductress whose otherworldly abilities can’t possibly be real. But when Stacia summons all her powers to prove what she really is, Alex will summon all his to believe in the vampire’s kiss….

Welcome to Book Lovin’ Mamas! We are so excited to have you here today!

1.       Could you tell us 3 things about yourself that not many people know about you?

I’m shy, scared of heights, but love to tracel.

2.       If you had to describe yourself in 3 words, what word would you choose?

Determined, compassionate, and funny.

3.       What does a typical writing day look like for you?

I write on the train during my commute to and from work in New York City.  On the weekends I’ll get up at six and write for 3 or 4 hours straight.

4.       What is the easiest and hardest part of writing for you?

The easiest part is getting into the characters’ heads.  The hardest part is writing love scenes that are unique, but fit the characters.

5.       For the readers out there who have not read any of The Calling/Reborn series, could you tell us a little bit about the books and what inspired you to write them?

The Calling/Reborn series is paranormal romantic suspense.  Sometimes the suspense stories involve the paranormal world, but other times they are human suspense stories.  Each book stands alone, but readers will see familiar characters in all of the stories.  Two characters who have appeared in almost every book are FBI Agent Diana Reyes and Southern vampire Ryder Latimer.  When the series is revamped (big pun intended)  as THE REBORN series in February 2013, you will see more of Diana and Ryder.

6.       Which character from the series was your favorite to write and why?

I think it’s hard to choose between Diana and Ryder.  They are like yin and yang and I love exploring their differences, but also their similarities.  I hope readers will love the future stories with them.

7.       When you’re not writing what are your hobbies and interests?

I love to draw, cook, garden and travel.  I also love to read, but my TBR pile is huge!!

8.       Who are some of your favorite authors? Favorite books?

I love JD Robb, Larissa Ione, Jane Porter, Julia Amante, Aimee Thurlo . . .  So many!  It’s like asking me to pick a favorite child!

9.       If you could meet one famous person, dead or alive, who would it be?

William Shakespeare.

10.   If you could go anywhere you want for a day, real or fiction, where would you go and what would you do?

I was born in Havana, Cuba, but left as a small child and have not been back.  I would love to go back to a free Cuba one day before coming back home to America.

Thank you so much for letting us ask you some questions! We hope you can come back again sometime. :)

Thank you so much for letting me visit with you!

Thank you all for coming by! I really love Stacia's story and am so glad that after a delay, THE CALLING series is back on shelves. There will be more books when THE CALLING is revamped (LOL!) to THE REBORN series in Feb. 2013. The next book will be titled BORN TO SERVE.
