Blog Tour: "Night Thief" by Lisa Kessler
Hi Everyone –
Thanks so much to the Book Lovin’ Mamas for inviting me to
visit the blog! (Being a Book Lovin’
Mama myself, I love the blog!)
I’m Lisa Kessler and I write dark paranormal romances. I actually got my start publishing horror
short stories, so when Halloween comes around, I feel right at home! J
For me paranormal romance blends my favorite genres. I still love the thrill and heart pulsing
action of a horror novel. I love turning pages and holding my breath wondering
what is lurking in the shadows, but I also can’t get enough of the passion and
rush of new love.
Paranormal romance feeds both addictions! LOL
My new release, Night Thief, also added a new dimension for
me… A historical time period. The book
takes place in 1840 in Paris! Huge
change of gears for me, but once I got used to stopping to research everything
from shoes to the French legal systems in 1840, the book took off!
Writing Kane & Rita’s story was an incredible adventure
for me, and it’s been a huge thrill to hear from readers that they’re also
enjoying the tale.
Here’s the blurb:
After the fall of the Mayan civilization, Kane, an immortal
Night Walker, has taken refuge in France for over 800 years. The modern world
holds little interest for him until the night he meets the Golden Thief and is
robbed of much more than his pocket watch.
Marguerite Rousseau is living a double life. By day she is the assistant to an eccentric French artist, Antoine Berjon, and by night she dons elegant evening gowns to woo French dignitaries before lifting their wallets.
Sparks ignite when Kane captures the thief, but Marguerite harbors a dark secret that could ruin them both.

I hope you’ll
take the plunge with me into genre blending…
Paranormal romance, with a dash of horror and a heaping spoonful of
historical makes for a fun new addition to my Night Series… J
So what are some
genres you love to see blended together?
Let’s cook up some Halloween romance reader brew! LOL

Don't be a stranger...
(From author's website)
I have always loved to make up stories. My first published work was The Wonders of
Unicorn Creek in 6th grade. The 9 page
epic was published by my tiny elementary school.
Since then I’ve published short stories in anthologies like:
Dead Souls, Ladies of Horror 2009, Hell Hath No Fury, and magazines like:
Sinisteria, Horrorfind, Twilight Times, The Writers Hood, Savage Night, The
Murder Hole, Behold and Shadowkeepzine.
My story ”Immortal Beloved” was a finalist for a Bram Stoker
award, and my story “The Third King” won second place in Behold’s short story
contest.
I’ve completed the first two novels in my Night Trilogy, and
the first two novels in my new Moon Series.
I’m thrilled to announce that Entangled Publishing has
contracted my entire Night Walker series!!!
The first book will be released August 5, 2011!!!
I’ve also recently released an eBook short story Across the
Veil. I hope you’ll grab a copy!

When I’m not writing, I also sing. (You can hear song samples on my website:
http:LisasLair.com )I’m a professional vocalist, performing with the San Diego
Opera as well as other musical theater companies. I’m married to an incredible
man who is also a great writer, and we live with our two teens in sunny San
Diego, California.
Halloween is a fun time of year for me and all my
ghouls. I’ve always been fascinated by
magic and what might be lurking the shadows.
Passion, love, jealousy, power and immortality also fuel many of my
plots, but I’m not a villain… I just
enjoy writing them…
I hope you enjoy reading them!
