Blog Tour: "Tactical Strike" by Kaylea Cross (Interview/Promo/Giveaway)
Welcome to our Virtual tour stop on the "Tactical Strike" by Kaylea Cross brought to you by Lit Connect Events.
1) Tell us 3 things about yourself that
readers would not be able to find on the web.
I’m addicted to both
Starbucks and Victoria’s Secret.
I have a terrible flying
phobia.
I was a champion curler back
in the day (it’s a Canadian thing).
2) What does a typical writing day look
for you?
I only write on weekdays,
unless I’m close to finishing a book or I have edits due. During the weekdays,
I try to write when I come home from dropping the boys off at school. I’m not a
fast writer, so some days it takes me all day to achieve my word count. Baby
steps!
3) Tell us a little bit about Tactical
Strike and why readers should check it out?
It’s the second book of my
Bagram Speical Ops series, and it features two very different yet kickass
characters. Ace is a play-by-the-rules female gunship pilot, and Ryan is a
badass adrenaline junkie Combat Controller who loves breaking rules whenever he
gets the chance. Putting the two of them together results in lots of fireworks!
4) What kind of research did you have to
do for Tactical Strike?
I’m fortunate to have a
couple of recently retired military sources I trust who I can check things
with, but mostly for Tactical Strike I read lots of non-fiction books and
scoured the Net for the details I wanted.
5) How many books do you have planned for
the Bagram Special Ops Series?
Three at this point, and
maybe a shorter length story for a fourth sometime in the future.
6) What was the hardest and easiest scenes
to write without giving too much away?
Easiest for me are always
scenes with lots of conflict, and the sex scenes. Hardest are the battle scenes
and places where I try to weave in details without overwhelming the reader.
7) If you could travel anywhere in the
world where would you go and why?
I love the South! Seriously
love it. Hubby and I visited New Orleans a couple years ago and loved it, plus
my best friend lives close to there so any time I get to see her is a thrill.
8) If you could have dinner with one
famous person, who would it be and why?
I think I’d choose Dwayne
“The Rock” Johnson, because I have a crush on him and I think he’s a really
decent human being. (Don’t tell my hubby about the crush!)
9) What is up next for Kaylea Cross?
The third book of my Bagram
series is coming out in September, and I also have plans to self-publish a
stand-alone Civil War story in the summer. I’m currently working on another
romantic suspense series featuring military contractors working overseas.
10) Do you have anything specific you want
to tell your readers?
Just
that I try to make the effort to inject realism into my stories. It’s important
to me to showcase what our men and women in uniform are doing out there on a
daily basis, and while I know I won’t always get the exact details right ever
time, I hope my readers can tell I’m trying my best!

Gunship pilot Captain Candace Bradford has worked long and hard to earn her rank and position within the male-dominated world of Air Force Special Operations. She’s not about to let anything or anyone jeopardize that, let alone one sinfully tempting man who seems determined to cause her nothing but trouble. Even if she’s starting to fall for him.
As an elite Combat Controller, Staff Sergeant Ryan Wentworth is used to overcoming adversity in order to complete a mission. Breaking through Candace’s prickly exterior and into her heart is a challenge he can’t let go. But just when he’s begun to gain her trust, they’re thrown together in the field facing an overwhelming enemy force.
Candace and Ryan find themselves on the run, searching the skies for an emergency extraction. But one dangerous enemy has an agenda in mind and he’ll use whatever means necessary to achieve it, including using American forces to do his dirty work.
