Kathryn Quick's "Ineligible Bachelor" Blog Tour (Interview/Spotlight/Giveaway)
Thanks so much for allowing me to share a little of myself and
Ineligible Bachelor with you all. This was a fun book to write since I am
a Reality TV junkie and also have had a boy-friend who never saw me in any
other light. Oh the agony of it all. I hope you will enjoy being a
part of Kinley's struggle to show Logan that the woman of his dreams has been
under his nose the whole time. Feel free to contact me and let me know if
you did.
Peace!
Kathye Q
Ineligible Bachelor
by
Kathryn Quick
Frederika “Freddy” McAllister has loved Logan Gabriel since…well,
forever. Unfortunately, she’s spent most of forever in the dreaded
“friend zone,” harboring what has to be the longest-running crush of all time.
But now Freddy has a plan to make Logan see her as more than just the girl next
door: She’ll enter him in Elan Magazine’s Eligible Bachelor Contest, then swoop
in to soothe his bruised ego when he loses.
There’s just one tiny problem: Logan wins! And that means he’s
headed to a mansion in New Jersey where six beautiful women will vie for his
affections on reality TV. Making matters worse, the producers want Freddy to
tag along and help choose his ideal match. Suddenly her perfect plan becomes a
perfect nightmare, as Freddy scrambles to outwit conniving contestants and
convince the man of her dreams that the woman of his has been by his side all
along.

Hi Kathryn,
Welcome to Book Lovin’ Mamas! We are so excited to have you here today!
·
Thanks
for having me. I love making new
friends.
1. Can you
tell us three things about yourself that we might not already know?
·
I’m
a nerd at heart – ask me anything about Star Trek, any of them.
·
I
once tried Irish Step Dancing in Dublin after I had a few too man Guinness’ at
a local pub
·
I
have been to Iceland three times to see the Northern Lights and haven’t seen
them yet. Too cloudy each time. Needless to say I’m going back.
2. What is
your favorite type of character to write? Least favorite?
·
I
love to write funny kinda nerdy characters that seem to save the day. They don’t need to be perfect in face and
body, but they do need to relate to us all.
·
I’m
tired of vampires. Wouldn’t write on at
gunpoint.
3. When you
are deep into writing what is your biggest pet peeve?
·
Making
dinner for the Hub, He’s on his own then
4. Does
music ever play a part in your writing process?
·
Always, Music can evoke so many emotions, some of
which we have never experienced and may never experience like tremendous
sacrifice as in Let’s Roll in tribute to
Flight 93 during September 11. I cry
every time I hear that song thinking about how the passengers must have felt
knowing they were going to die but trying to save a lot more lives on the
ground.
Or the passion in I,
Who have Nothing by Tom Jones. Talk about the pain of wanting
someone you can never have, Can anyone
listen to that song and not want to smack that woman for not noticing him?
Music can make you feel sad, happy, evoke love, passion,
joy. Music is a wonderful writing tool I
use often.
5. Have you
ever base characters off actual people you know?
·
Constantly. Patt in Ineligible
Bachelor Is my writing partner to a
tee. Maybe Kinley in my WIP is a little me. I think my characters have a little of people
I know in all of them.
6. Tell us a
little bit about "Ineligible Bachelor" and why readers should check
it out?
·
Haven’t
you ever had a boy-friend you wished was a boyfriend? I know I have. What do you do about it? Pine away in silence? Make a move?
Hope he notices you on his own?
How about entering him in a photo contest to be the Most Eligible
Bachelor just knowing he will not win and planning to soothe his bruised ego
afterward? What would you do if he
won? What would you do if he won and
then went to a mansion with six beautiful bachelorettes so he cold pick one for
an ultimate dream date in Hawaii? What
if YOU had to go and pick his date?
That’s Freddy’s dilemma in Ineligible Bachelor. Check it out and find out how she does handle
the mess she’s made. See if you agree
with her choices and let me know!
7. What
inspired you to write "Ineligible Bachelor"?
·
Reality
TV and Michael, my high school boy-friend.
I think I still have a crush on him.
(And I think Logan is a whole lot Michael to answer question 5).
8. Is there
anything you would like to tell your readers?
·
I
do hope you’ll get in the limo with Logan and Freddy and find out how the show
ends. When you do, let me know if you
enjoyed the ride.
Thank you so
much for being here today! We hope you will come back in the future.
·
This
was fun. I hope you’ll let me come back
sometime.
Born long ago in a place not so far
away, Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, Kathryn Quick has been writing since the
Sisters in St. Casmir’s Grammar School gave her the ruled yellow paper and a
number two pencil. She writes contemporary and career romances, romantic
comedies, historical romances
as well as urban fantasy.
She has been a member of New Jersey
Romance Writers and Romance Writers of America since 1990 and considers it an
honor to have been NJRW President in 1992 and 2001. She is one of the
founding members of Liberty States Fiction Writers, a multi-genre writers’
organizations dedicated to furthering the craft of writing and helping aspiring
writers move onto publication.
Kathye originally wanted to be
President of the United States or an Organic Chemist, but somehow life got in
the way and she got married right out of high school and had a set of twins two
years later. The Presidency seemed out of reach and night school to get
her Ph.D. to create new molecule that would ultimately result in the betterment
of humankind seemed a little time consuming while trying to raise twins, so she
decided to write instead.
In her "other" life, Kathye
is married to her real-life hero Donald and has three grown sons all having
adventures of their own and three “bonus” grandchildren. She is a
die-hard New Jersey Devils fan and works for Somerset County government (as
close as she could get to the White House) and is plotting a novel about a new
molecule that will ultimately result in the betterment of humankind.

HI and thanks for riding along in the limo with Freddy and Logan. Hope you like the book, if you have it, and, if not, maybe you'll be curiosu ebough to try it.
sounds like such a great read!
I see I can't spell very well. Sorry for the typos. Trying to sneak in comments at work. My bad!
I can relate to pining for someone away in silence. I think this is a story that is both entertaining and relatable too! It'll be nice to have the spotlight on you and perhaps a chance with your guy :)
My raffle name is Fiery Na.
Sounds like a fun read!
I have definitely had boy-friends that I crushed on, but never wanted to really go for anything cause I was afraid of ruining the friendship (which drifted away in the end anyhow). If I could go back, I would probably be more inclined to go for it, just to see how it would have turned out.
