Blog Tour: "An Affair to Dismember" by Elise Sax (Interview/Giveaway)

Welcome to our stop on the Virtual Book Tour of "An Affair to Dismember" by Elise Sax brought to you by Bewitching Book Tours.
1. Tell us 3 things about yourself that readers may not know about you.

I gave birth in France and while I was in labor taught my midwife how to say “Push” in English.

My hair is just like Gladie’s.

Tomorrow is my birthday.

2. What does a typical writing day look for you?

I get up. I panic about writing. I procrastinate. I panic. I turn on my computer. I go grocery shopping. I panic. I eat something I’m not supposed to. I panic. Then, I write. (Add in some more panicking, and that’s a pretty typical writing day.)

3. Tell us a little bit about "An Affair to Dismember" and why readers should check it out?

An Affair to Dismember is the funny romantic mystery about Gladie Burger, who moves to a small village in Southern California to help her Grandma Zelda run her matchmaking business. Gladie has major commitment phobia, but now she is determined to stay put and learn the business. However, she’s sidetracked with two romance interests and murder. Why should you read it? Because it will hopefully make you laugh, make you happy, and give you some entertainment. Also, I think you will grow attached to the characters. I know I have.

4. What was the easiest and hardest scene to write in "An Affair to Dismember"? (without giving away too much)

The easiest scene was the vibrator scene. The hardest scene was the cemetery scene.

5. What is your favorite type of character to write? Least?

That’s a hard one! Hmmm…I like to write a character that makes me feel something. It’s much easier for me to write when I am transported into the character’s psyche. I don’t much like a character without a point of view. I think most of my characters have distinct points of view. I respect attitude.

6. How many books do you have planned in the series?

Each book is set a month after the last one. Affair begins in August, Matchpoint in September, Match and Release in October, and so on. I would like to see Gladie grow for a year. I have big plans for her. So, 12 books, but I don’t know if I will be contracted to write more books after the third one. I hope so!

7. What inspired you to write the Matchmaker series?

My muse.

8. Do you ever suffer with writer's block and if you do how do you handle it?

Yes! I truly believe in writer’s block. Going for a walk helps. Taking a shower helps, too. Panicking doesn’t help at all.

9. What is up next for Elise Sax?

I’m finishing up Catch and Release and then I’m going to start a young adult series.

10. Do you have anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Only thank you so much for picking up An Affair to Dismember and giving it a read. I am so grateful for each of my readers, and I love to hear from you.

Description:
Certain to appeal to fans of Janet Evanovich, Jennifer Crusie, and Katie MacAlister, Elise Sax’s hilarious series debut introduces matchmaker-in-training Gladie Burger, who stumbles into a dangerous quagmire of murder and red-hot romance.

Three months has been Gladie Burger’s limit when it comes to staying in one place. That’s why Gladie is more than a little skeptical when her eccentric Grandma Zelda recruits her to the family’s matchmaking business in the quaint small town of Cannes, California. What’s more, Gladie is also highly unqualified, having a terrible track record with romance. Still, Zelda is convinced that her granddaughter has “the gift.” But when the going gets tough, Gladie wonders if this gift has a return policy.

When Zelda’s neighbor drops dead in his kitchen, Gladie is swept into his bizarre family’s drama. Despite warnings from the (distractingly gorgeous) chief of police to steer clear of his investigation, Gladie is out to prove that her neighbor’s death was murder. It’s not too long before she’s in way over her head—with the hunky police chief, a dysfunctional family full of possible killers, and yet another mysterious and handsome man, whose attentions she’s unable to ignore. Gladie is clearly being pursued—either by true love or by a murderer. Who will catch her first?

Humor in a story is a must for me, even if it's a dark sort. I need to chuckle at least once. Sounds like the is book would provide plenty.

That cover is so cute. And your day of writing sounds like my very day - except for me it is more procrastinating than panic ;)

Oh, I liked your book. Reminded me of the adventures of Stephanie Plum.
