Q: You are a matchmaker — your goal, hook up two characters from two of your favorite books. Who would it be? How do you think it would go?

Fun question! I thought of an answer to this, not knowing it would be my answer. When I read Embrace the  Darkness by Alexandra Ivy, I LOVED the tiny gargoyle. I kept thinking if Levet had been a gargoyle like  Lannes Hannelore from the Wild Road by Marjorie M. Liu, beautiful half human/half Shalot Demon Lady Shay would have skipped the vampire and gone for the gargoyle! :) It would go like this. Beautiful Demon meets giant Gargoyle, they click because they're both different looking than a normal human, and they fall in love. Both characters had a difficult time falling in love in their books so I's like to think my version would have gone smoother. LOL

 I'm going to go with the Anita Blake and Barrons.  For some reason, I think Barrons would scare the crap out of Anita or they both would kill each other.  I'm leaning towards killing each other.  Anita is known as being polygamous and Barrons...well...I'm not too sure he could handle Anita being with the other guys.  He probably would kill her other lovers.  As long as he doesn't kill Nathaniel, I'll be a happy reader.  =)

This one is easy for me, the answer came to me almost immediately. I'm a HUGE fan of Nalini Singh's Psy/Changeling series, I blew through the books very quickly, I just could not put them down. I love her characters and the incredible world she has built. There were two men I loved since the moment they're introduced, Hawke, who I would love no matter what(he's not my answer, don't worry) and Drew(not the answer either)! So I get to Drew's book, Play of Passion, thinking oh he won't disappoint me(and he didn't!), and then I get to know Indigo! I thought she would be a great match for Drew, I thought she was cool and I wanted to be like her. Well, she's not cool and I no longer want to be like her!!! She annoyed me through the whole entire book! Drew is such a sweetheart, he loves with his whole heart and he knew they were meant for each other. Indigo didn't care, kept pushing my sweet Drew away, telling him he's not good enough, not dominate enough(but oh boy, he is), it made me SO MAD!!! I don't think she deserves him! I pouted for a while after I finished that book but I got over it because Hawke was next and oh how I love him!!! ;)

I've thought about this for a full day and still could not come up with a single character who I loved and ended up breaking up with later on.  Maybe my brain is fried over College English Papers at the moment.
I know I've had a few characters who I can't ever read again, but my mind is on my Persuasive Essay and  Causes Essay.  Can I break up with my English Papers instead?  =)
I will say this...I'm still a Anita Blake addict...mostly because I can't give up on my infatuation with Nathaniel.  I friggin' LOVE him!!! *sigh*

This is a hard one for me and it took me a while to think of an answer. I'd love to see Hawke and Lucas (psy/changeling) fight against Alcide and Quinn (Sookie Stackhouse). It would be the sexiest fight EVER! LOL I don't know who would win, I'd like to say Hawke and Lucas would but Alcide and Quinn are pretty powerful too. Anyways, I don't care who wins I just wanna see them strip and shift. ;)

I would love a fight between Lothaire (IAD Series by Kresley Cole) and Rehvenge (BDB Series by J.R. Ward)...although it would be hard to decide who would win.  Let's just say, the fighting would last for awhile.  

Personally, I think Lothaire would win since he seriously can fight physically, but also has a mental way of getting a component to succumb to him.  Although, Rehvenge has his own tricks up his sleeves which would make Lothaire fall.

I'm really skeptical about the Fever series being made into movies. There is no possible way they can make a movie and still be true to the book and let's face it, us fans only want the best for Mac and Barrons. The rumors I've read say that they're going to make them to target teenagers, if that's true I won't even consider watching them. And even if they target adults, Shadowfever would have to be rated NC-17 to do it justice and even then I just don't think they could do it.

Please, Hollywood, do not mess up these whenever you do make them into movies...Otherwise I will be Highly pissed off at you! I'm kind of scared on the actors/actresses they will cast for the roles of the main characters.  The Vampire Academy Series is the most important Series, I do not want them to ruin.  I absolutely loved every book and I have high expectations on it if it's made into a movie.

I never read just one book at a time. Right now I have 3 kindle books that i'm reading, one paperback and an audio book. If I don't have some variety I get bored and when I get bored reading a book it's pretty much the end for that book. LOL

Very easy answer for me, I tend to read 3 books at once: one from my Local Library, one on my Kindle, and one Author Review Request (or a book on my bookshelves).  I also have been listening to Audiobooks more so sometimes 4 books.  It's crazy, I know, but I like to rotate and I tend to read books faster when I read more than one at once.

Slave to Sensation
by: Nalini Singh


Slave to Sensation is based in our world but about 70 years in the future, where there are three races of people. The Psy, a race of people with highly superior mental capabilities such as telekinesis or telepathy and they have conditioned themselves to feel no emotion. The Changelings are people with the ability to change into different animals. And then there are the regular humans. Sascha is a Psy and she believes she's flawed because her conditioning is failing. Lucas is the alpha to the Dark River leopard pack and he's searching for a murderer who has killed many changelings. He knows Sascha is his key to finding the killer so he intends to use her but instead falls for her.

The paperback cover (above) is the one that I don't care for, it's just boring I think. There is nothing about the cover that goes with this book at all. It's just a guy standing there. I do however like the audio book cover (right) much much better. To me it shows the reader just a little glimpse of Sascha and Lucas, enough to get them to read the book. If I had seen the audio book cover before I saw the paperback cover I would have started this series a lot soon than a couple of months ago.

But I have to say, it's an incredible series and if you haven't read any of them I highly recommend that you do.  The world that she had built and the characters are so easy to fall in love with. I'm kinda sad that I only have two more books to read and then I'm caught up. I'll just have to patiently wait for the next book to release in May. :)

My thoughts on the cover:
When I was first introduced to the Anita Blake Series...I wasn't impressed with the covers.  Even the other Versions were dull or plain.  It drove me crazy.  The cover of Guilty Pleasures just didn't capture my attention and I thought the book was going to be awful at first.  Never judge a book by it's cover.  Even the description of the book didn't give it justice.  The Series in a whole...I'm obsessed with.  I love the world and the characters Laurell has created...especially Nathaniel.  *Sigh*

Now Laurell's most recent cover to her newest release in June is by far my favorite and I hope the book is just as good as the cover looks.  =)



I think whoever designed the new cover should be hired for the rest also.  It gives the Series more justice.  =)  At least that's my personal opinion.  Maybe others like Laurell's plain and simple covers...but me...I'll take the dark, sexy covers any day.  Now if only she could throw in a actor who could portray Nathaniel or do what she did for Micah's cover...and I'll be a Happy Anita Blake Fan.  =) 

If your into twisted plots and crazy sex scenes...you may love the Anita Blake Series.  If your not into twisted stories...you may not get into this series.  Laurell K. Hamilton definitely has a creative mind that will freak out people (especially my husband when I tell him bits and pieces)...but that is why Laurell is one of my faves.  She creates something no one else would dare do.

Yeah FranJessca I think the rest should be a surprise so make sure you come back to see! ;) One of my favorite books is Rock Me by Cherrie Lynn and I always thought it would make a good movie. The perfect actor to play Brian I think would be Taylor Kitsch. He would just need lots and lots and lots of tattoos but he would be perfect! ;)

Deja Vu, since we've actually been discussing a Dream Cast for one of our favorite Book...actually series.  The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning.  I really don't want to give away who we think should play the main characters though...or should we Anna?  

I'll tease with saying David Gandy should play Barrons in the Fever Series.

 Anna:
My reading places aren't anything special really. I either read in the recliner in our living room or in my bed. The recliner is big and fluffy and I love to sink into it and escape into a different world.

My bed is, well it's just a bed but the reason I like reading there so much is because I can cuddle into my big comforter, stretch out and get comfortable and read by my little bedside lamp. I LOVE to read darker books with the lights dimmed down as much as possible, makes the danger and suspense of the book so much better.

I have two places I love to read...and it's not indoors at all.
I prefer the Beach with my Kindle or Paperback while my oldest daughter plays in the water because the waves are peaceful.

Or I enjoy being outside in front of my house while, my Cane Corso, Rambo protects me while I read my Favorite Paranormal Romance Novel.  I plan on getting a better chair to sit in this year though once the weather gets warmer.

The first one that comes to mind is Sidheach from Beyond the Highland Mist, who went by Hawk. I can't say I've ever heard a name like that one before. Most of Karen Moning's men have unique names though! 

FranJessca's Answer:

I just recently read a book from Sallie Lundy-Frommer called "Yesterday's Daughter" which had a female character name that I fell in love with.  First off, in the book the character's name is Grace Stone, but afterwards she finds our her real name is "Sapphira".  Very Unique!  If I could have a 3rd little girl, I definitely would name her that. =)  Although, my husband would look at me crazy and tell me not just no, but HELL No.  He just doesn't understand...because he doesn't have a unique name...unlike his Wifey who has a "Unique" name thanks to a Mom who got creative. =)  

I also adore every name that J.R. Ward has created for her characters....especially Rehvenge (my imaginary boyfriend).

I would have to say that reading my favorite book over and over again is way more appealing than reading anything that I'm not totally into. There are a couple of books that I'd never get sick of. Like Shadowfever, I just can't get enough of it.

This is a pretty easy question for me this week....I definitely would read my favorite book over and over again.  I wouldn't want to waste my time with mediocre books.  Every time I read my favorite book, I would discover something else I loved about it.  For example, Lover Avenged by J.R Ward, I could never get bored of.  I love the characters and the World, J.R. Ward created.
