Description:
A little distraction can be a wonderful thing.
Nate Torrance has a job to do, and the biggest rugby boots in the world to fill. He can’t afford to lose his focus, especially not to a brown-eyed Canadian who pushes all his buttons and looks much too good in a climbing harness.
Allison Villiers may not know what she wants to do with her life, but she’s clear about one thing. She’s not impressed by the new captain of the All Blacks, however big a deal he is to the rest of New Zealand. If only her unfortunate taste for adventure didn’t keep leading her astray . . .
“How are you finding Wellington so far?” Nate asked when they were out on the water. He’d managed to launch them from the beach with a shove, and even climb in again behind her without any mishaps. Ally was actually a little sorry. She’d been half-anticipating going over, and enjoying the prospect of teasing him about it. He definitely needed it.
“I love it,” she said, keeping up a steady stroke and feeling the calm that always came over her when she was surrounded by sea and sky, enjoying the effort, the rhythmic motion. She was going to be out here with him for a while, so she might as well keep this pleasant. She didn’t even have to look at him, after all. You couldn’t really turn around in a double kayak without tipping the thing, which was probably for the best in this case. “I’ve been wandering around getting happily lost, and finding my way home again. It’s a lively place, isn’t it? Lots of outdoor stuff to do too, and as you know, that’s my favorite thing.”
“It can get a bit wet and windy,” he cautioned.
“I’ve heard,” she said, unable to keep the amusement from her voice. “I’ve had a few discussions about the weather already, you see.”
She heard him groan. “I’m rubbish at chatting girls up,” he admitted, surprising a laugh from her. “I never know what to say. Everything’s either dull, or it sounds like a pickup line. I generally end up opting for dull.”
“Honesty works, though,” she told him. “That was pretty good right there.”
“Really.” He sounded surprised. “I should throw myself on your mercy, you think?”
“Definitely. A strong man being endearingly awkward . . . I like it. It’s an approach, anyway.”
“Better than spilling a beer on her, I reckon,” he said.
“Much better." She realized that she was paddling along with a smile on her face. Why hadn’t she met this guy before? She liked him.
“I’ll try again, then,” he said. “Did you spend Christmas here as well, on the Coromandel?”
“No, in Auckland. And it rained one day, but otherwise the weather was good. Just to anticipate you.”
He laughed. “Do anything special?”
“I did, actually. I bungy jumped off the Sky Tower. Kristen’s Christmas present.”
“Crikey. This is me shuddering back here."
“No, really?” she asked in surprise. “It was amazing. You should try it.”
“I’ll take your word for it,” he decided.
“You don’t like thrills?”
“I love thrills. Know how to get them, too. And it’s not by jumping off buildings.”
Wow. She didn’t think she’d pursue that one. Maybe he meant rugby. Yeah, right. He hadn’t meant rugby.

Blog Tour: "Just For Fun" by Rosalind James (Review)
Nic Wilkinson is a responsible, organized, disciplined rugby player at the top of his game. Emma Martens is a sometimes-scattered, often-emotional, and always-broke would-be designer with a big chip on her shoulder where Nic’s concerned.
They have no history together, except one perfect week. Nothing in common anymore, except the most important thing of all.
Getting together again would be messy. Complicated. Scary. And, just maybe, worth every risk.

My Review:
I read the first 3 books in the Escape to New Zealand Series, so I definitely wanted to read the 4th book.
I found I gained two obsessions after reading this series, thanks to Rosalind James. One - I really want to visit or live in New Zealand, and two - I need to watch Rugby. That being said...I am seriously contemplating moving to New Zealand after reading this series and enjoying what New Zealand has to offer. I even told my hubby and he gave me crazy eyes.
That being said, I definitely enjoyed reading the fourth book to the Escape to New Zealand series.
Nic Wilkinson is a rugby player who is about to realize his one week fling with the beautiful Emma Martens in Fiji may have been more than a just a fling. Emma's life got turned upside down before she met Nic. She was supposed to be getting married and going on her honeymoon to Fiji with her husband. Instead, she is going to Fiji alone and meets Nic, the handsome rugby player who is going on his own getaway. They hook up and sparks fly, but then Nic has to get back on the plane for his rugby games. Emma has to go back to her life as well.
Six years later and Nic is about to find out by accident that Emma has kept something from him that he definitely wanted to know about.
Now Nic's life is about to turn upside down and even his fiancee he is with, is not happy.
"Just For Fun" definitely is a perfect title to this story and Rosalind James did not disappoint in her fourth book. I enjoyed every minute of reading this book....but the characters and I did not click well. Nic, I was okay with...but not Emma. She was difficult to understand even when Nic stepped in to help her. He wanted to be there and Emma was just stand-offish. I really did not like Claudia, who was Nic's fiancee. She drove me to the point where I wanted to smack her (and I realize she's fictional). She should have been supportive, but wasn't.
I enjoy how much Rosalind James writes a story that draws the reader in. She throws in the previous characters and how they are doing. She also makes real story lines, and what happens in the real world...but minus the sexy rugby players. (At least in my part of the world, we do not have the rugby players...but other sports)
I highly recommend this series to contemporary romance readers, readers who love sports romances, and readers who have read the first 3 books in the Escape to New Zealand series.
I look forward to Rosalind James next books....she definitely has a fan.
(She knows how to make a reader fall in love with some sexy fictional rugby players)
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the Author (for Blog Tour) in exchange for an honest review.

Review: "Just Good Friends" by Rosalind James
Just Good Friends
(Escape to New Zealand, #2)
by: Rosalind James
Publishing Date: 8/30/12
Publisher: Self-published
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Source: Amazon (Bought for Kindle)
Description:
Some bets were made to be lost.
Kate Lamonica isn't Koti James's type. Too small. Too dark. And heaps too much work. So it's an easy bet that he can be her friend for six weeks without making a move on her, no matter what his mates would have said.
Kate can't believe she's made the bet at all. New Zealand had seemed like the perfect escape from the stalker who'd threatened first her peace of mind, and then her life. She certainly doesn't need any more trouble. Why on earth has she agreed to spend time with a Maori rugby player who's far too handsome and charming for his own good--and knows it?
But there's more than one game Koti's good at playing...

My Review:
I think I am in love with every male character that Rosalind writes about in her Escape to New Zealand series. I fell in love with Koti from Just this Once and now I am even in more love with him. (even though he was considered the player of the bunch)
He stole my heart though in this book and I am a little jealous over Kate. =)
Kate Lamonica is hiding out from her ex-boyfriend and decides to catch a flight to New Zealand to be with her friend, Hannah who is pregnant with her first child. Kate knew Hannah from where she used to work and needed to get away fast. Hannah helps her find a place to live which Drew her husband helps her get a job with one of his rugby teams doing bookkeeping.
Kate has been warned about the rugby players and of course she is new girl to look at. She is not there to hook up with since she cannot trust anyone at the moment. She does not want the truth of what happened to her and truth of her hiding coming out.
Koti James's is about to meet his match. He is one of the most elgibile bachelors in the team and every girl wants to be his, but Kate does not want anything to do with him. He does not want anything to do with Kate, until he accepts the challenge she has to offer. Can he really be friends with a woman, or will it lead to something more?
This book includes jealous models who think they are Koti's girlfriend, dangers of Kate's stalker, and some very heated moments between two characters who supposedly hate each other, as well as some trips throughout New Zealand, and you will have a hard time putting down this book.
This is by far my favorite of the books. I loved Koti from Just this Once and I wanted to find out who would tame the player. He definitely found his match with Kate. Kate was definitely strong-willed and put Koti in his place, but she had many reasons why she did that. She definitely had her own problems to deal with and why she did not trust any man to date. I would have a hard time as well, especially what she went through.
I loved the moments between the characters the most. Koti definitely got Kate through a lot and even challenged her to do things she normally would not have done.
The tension between the both and the intimate scenes...were no joke people. Be prepared to have a glass of water on hand.
Rosalind James did an amazing job with this book and I had a hard time putting it down. Every time I thought Koti would man up with Kate, she would knock him down again. Koti definitely met his match with Kate and she made sure to jump him when she had the chance.
How could she resist him for so long, especially the way Rosalind described his body? Oh my goodness....I think I was drooling on my Kindle every time, he took off his shirt or wetsuit and I was just imagining what he looked like.
I highly recommend this book as well as the first to readers who enjoy contemporary romance.
Be prepared to want to read the next book though...because you will want to read more of New Zealand and what it has to offer. (sexy rugby players, exotic getaways...etc). =)

Review: "Just this Once" by Rosalind James
Just this Once
(Escape to New Zealand, #1)
by: Rosalind James
Publishing Date: 1/1/13
Publisher: Self Published
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Source: Bought for Kindle (Amazon)
Description:
Everyone needs to be rescued sometimes.
Everyone but Hannah Montgomery, that is. She just needs a vacation. Three weeks in New Zealand to sort out her life, figure out what she wants, seems just right. Oh, and to relax. She should definitely put that on the agenda. She certainly isn't looking for a fling with a professional rugby player, no matter how attractive he is. Hannah doesn't do casual. But maybe just this once. . .
Drew Callahan is happy to help Hannah find all the fun she's been missing. But as much as he's shared with her, he's kept one very big secret. And learning the truth, now that she's back home again, has made Hannah more wary than ever. Drew knows that she's right for him. But how can he convince her to let down her guard enough to explore what they could have together?

My Review:
I am going to be reading the 3rd and 4th book to this series for blog tours and I told myself to read the first two books first. I hate reading out of order and I am glad I read "Just this Once" because I definitely LOVED every minute of this book.
Hannah Montgomery is a work-aholic who has never had fun in her life. She decides to finally take a vacation somewhere exotic to take some time for herself. She ends up in New Zealand, almost drowning and having a sexy guy save her. Of course this is not your normal sexy guy, in fact, Hannah has no idea she has met a professional rugby player, who happens to be the captain of the team.
Drew Callahan takes a break every once in awhile when he is off from playing rugby to do fishing and when he happens to save the damsel in distress, he never figured he would fall for the American woman. She is stubborn though because she does not know what to make of him and his gestures. He is completely baffled, she has no idea who he is until the truth finally comes out and he has to say, he actually likes the fact she does not know who he is.
It's hard though for him to get her to open up since she is all about doing her job and also trying to still take care of her brother and sister, who just want to live their lives.
I definitely have found the perfect book to make me want to visit to New Zealand, or actually live there eventually. I want my own Rugby player, after reading this book.
I loved the storyline and of course the secondary characters as well in "Just this Once". Hannah definitely is one strict, hard-headed, strong-willed, determined character who will put a man in his place. She had been taking care of herself and her two siblings for so long and working so much, I can understand why she did not want her heart broken or want to take Drew seriously.
How could she resist Drew for so long though? I would have a hard time, he is such a sweetheart. He stole my heart the minute he rescued her.
Drew understood what Hannah had issues with and he took his time with her. He definitely did an amazing job trying to win her over.
When Hannah and Drew finally hooked up, there were definitely sparks flying between them both. =)
I loved Rosalind James throwing in the dictionary of New Zealand sayings in the back of the book as well because I had a hard time with some sayings that Drew would say. I learned a lot from this book about New Zealand and also rugby...which I need to watch more of. It is way better than American Football...at least in my opinion it is. =)
I definitely cannot wait to read the rest from this series now.
Rosalind James is now a favorite author of mine because she made me fall in love with Rugby, the men that play Rugby, and also a new place I need to vacation too. (Adding to my bucket list now) =)
I highly recommend this readers who love contemporary romance and love sports romance stories as well.

"Just For Fun" by Rosalind James Promo Blitz

Emma reached out for a hug that, Nic saw, the boy was still willing to give his mother, at least here at home. Her eyes met Nic’s as she looked over her son’s head. How did she always look so soft? So . . . pettable? She was wearing another sweater, that was all, he told his troublesome libido. Another light, lacy one, prettily trimmed once again. A pale pink cardigan with pearly shell buttons, edged in cream, over a long stretchy top and leggings. She looked like an invitation to cuddle. Like the best blankie ever.
“Can Nic stay for dinner, Mum?” Zack asked excitedly, offering a welcome distraction from his wayward train of thought. “He could help me tell you all the things we did. We’re having spaghetti!” he told Nic. “It’s really good.”
“Can’t, mate. Sorry,” Nic put in hastily at Emma’s instinctive shake of the head. “But I’ll have a glass of water, if one’s on offer.”
“Sit down,” Emma told him. “Please.”
Nic slipped off his own shoes before heading to the couch with Zack. “Cheers,” he said as she came back from the kitchen to hand each of them a glass, then took her own seat in a small armchair next to the couch, the only other option the little room offered.
“You look tired,” she said abruptly. “And bruised. Are you OK?”
“Just a bit confused on the sleep schedule, still,” Nic admitted. “I took a wee pill on the flight home, but it never works that well.”
“It’s a long way, Mum,” Zack put in. “South Africa’s really far.”
Nic took a long drink of the cold water, looked around for something to set the glass on. “Coaster?”
“Just put it down,” Emma told him.
“Don’t want to spoil this,” he said, looking more closely at the coffee table. The simple rectangle had been transformed into a forest of ferns, with native birds peeping out from underneath fronds, perched in trees. The parson-throated tui making a meal of red fruit, the colorful, stumpy takahe on the forest floor, tiny fantails darting overhead.
“You can’t,” Emma assured him. “It’s all enamels. Everything in this house is pretty indestructible.”
“Did you find the ruru yet?” Zack asked him, leaning forward.
“Don’t tell me,” Nic said. “Let me look.” Zack watched him eagerly as he searched and finally pointed triumphantly to a notch in a tree where the owl blended into the bark. “There.”
“You did this too, eh,” he asked Emma. “Nice.”
“I did everything. That’s my decorating theme. Things I made.”
“I like it,” he assured her. The warm colors of the lounge seemed to cocoon them. Two walls were a rich caramel, the others a warm yellow. She didn’t even paint every wall in a room the same color, he realized. Well, at least in the kitchen it was all the same. Purple. He wondered what color her bedroom was. How it looked. And found himself wishing, against every better impulse, that he could see it.
