1. Tell us 5 things about yourself that readers would not be able to find on the web. Well, I’m pretty much an open book, but I’ll try! 

a. I’m petrified of the mask they used on the villain in the “Scream” movies.

b. I met my husband while doing community theatre.

c. I love to make collages to inspire myself.

d. My toy poodle’s full name is Sir Oliver Wendell Queen Rigbee Poo Lamm

e. I make a kickass chicken pot pie.

2. What does a typical writing day look for you? 

A typical writing day (when I can get one around the full-time job) looks like this. I open the laptop with the best of intentions. I get lost in email for way too long. Then twitter sucks me in. Then I’ll check in with a writing buddy on chat. Then we’ll talk for much longer than we write. Then, six hours later, I’m in a panic because I’ve gotten nothing done, so I’ll open Write or Die and crank out my word count in less than two hours. If I could focus, I’d be dangerous.

3. Tell us a little bit about "The Geek Girl and the Scandalous Earl" and why readers should check it out? 

If you’re a fan of geekyness, gaming, or pop culture, you should read it. If you’re fan of Regency romances, you should read it. If you can read, you should read it. ☺ This is a mashup of my favorite things. It’s a fun, lighthearted romance with a good dose of humanity and heart. Try it! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

4. What inspired you to write "The Geek Girl and the Scandalous Earl"? 

I wanted to write about what I liked. So I made a mental list, and the top two things on the list that day were gaming and Regency romance. The instant it popped into my head I knew I had to write it. 

5. What was the easiest and hardest scene to write in the book? 

The easiest scene was the opening, by far. Not that much of the original opening scene made it into the book, but it was pretty gaming-heavy. We wanted to make it accessible to those who aren’t hardcore gamers, so we trimmed it back a LOT. But the goblin battle was EPIC, I assure you. ☺ I can’t really talk about the hardest scene in the book, because it’s at the end, and spoilers! But you’ll know when you get there. I BAWLED writing that scene. Seriously, sobbing as I typed.

6. What kind of research did you do for your book? 

Loads. I really wanted readers to get a sense of what day-to-day life would be like for someone like them, stuck in the past! Hygeine, food, health, even dogs! There was a while in there that I was worried I’d land on some FBI watch lists. ☺

7. If you could have dinner with one famous person (dead or alive) who would it be and why? 

Oh gosh, what a tough one! I think I might have to say Stephen King. He wrote my favorite book of all time (Dolores Claiborne) and his book “On Writing” inspired me to write GGSE. I’d love to pick his brain.

8. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? 

London. I’ve never been, and it’s figured so heavily in my writing and reading that it’s definitely somewhere I need to go!

9. What is up next for Gina Lamm? 

GGSE’s sequel, GEEK GIRLS DON’T DATE DUKES, will be releasing in September 2013! I’m looking forward to that one. I hope you guys are too!

10. Do you have anything specific you want to say to your readers? 

Thanks for giving my book a chance. It’s not easy to let your work out there into the world, and the response I’ve gotten has been amazing. I know how picky I can be when it comes to choosing a book to read, and that you’ve made room on your shelves and in your ereaders for my work truly means a lot.
