Dante and Anna have a history dating back 12 years to one horrible night where theirs and 3 others lives are changed forever when something horrifying and catastrophic happens to them all. Now 12 years later Dante is back in town and the past rears it's ugly head because a serial killer has targeted their group by killing people in a similar way to what happened all those years ago.

After 12 years in the service Dante Renaldi is back to visit his old friends and family and finally put the past behind him. But seeing Anna and his old friends brings back a lot of memories and makes him question his motives for running away when he maybe should have stuck around. Now that a killer is after them all he's trying to figure out who it is and keep them all safe and alive.

After all these years Detective Anna Pallino has finally gotten over that terrible night and being left behind by Dante who at one time Anna thought she would be with forever. Or has she really gotten over it? Now that he's back in town and the killer has started targeting the people she cares about the most she starts questioning everything she's come to know. Can she trust Dante to help her find the killer or is he her #1 suspect?

This book is everything romantic suspence should be. In this gripping story the balance between mystery and drama and sexual tension is perfect. Not too much of anything and nothing is over done. Anna and Dante have the hottest chemistry and yet they work well together trying to find the killer. Anna is strong but vulnerable, sexy but intimidating and she can take care of herself but she also knows when back up is needed. And Dante, now that man is sexy! Can't think of a better word for him, and my goodness what a sweetheart he is. He can come and rescue me any day, especially if I get to be up close and personal with him.

And the secondary characters are great too. Gabe is, well he's mysterious and I don't know about you other ladies but his kind of mysterious is very hot. I so hope the next book is his story because I have so many guesses about him and I'm dying to see what kind of woman it will take to bring him to his knees.

All in all this was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to any romance lover, especially the romantic suspence lovers. It's different than anything I've read by Jaci Burton but not in a bad way. In fact I think this is my favorite Jaci Burton book so far. Very worth the read and I can't wait for the next book. The ending was a huge surprise to me, never expected it!

I give this book 4.5 stars!

Happy Reading
Anna
