Interview & Giveaway with Cynthia Eden

Book Lovin' Mamas is please to welcome Cynthia Eden to
Book Lovin' Mamas today.

1. Tell us 5 things about yourself that readers may not be able find out about you on the web.

Five things? Tricky…let’s see…my favorite holiday movie is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. I try to never eat anything green. At any given time, I may be reading 3 books. I think fallen angels are pretty awesome. And…I read my first paranormal book when I was 12 years old.

2. What does a typical writing day look for you?

When I am on a deadline, I try to write 6,000 words a day—so that means I spend a whole lot of hours writing. I usually take my son to school, then return home and write for 6 straight hours. (Okay, I say “straight” hours but I do take Twitter and email breaks so my mind won’t go numb.) I try to spend about 1 hour each day on promotion, and, well, then it is time to pick my son up from school. I don’t go to work again until he’s asleep. After bedtime comes for him, I’ll stay up as long as necessary in order to get my 6,000 words. The next day, the cycle starts again.

3. Can you please tell the readers a little bit about your newest release "Angel in Chains"?

Thanks so much for asking about ANGEL IN CHAINS! This book features one of my darkest heroes, Azrael—or, Az, for short. Az is a fallen angel who wants to earn redemption, and he’ll pretty much do anything for that redemption. But now that he’s in the mortal realm, Az is facing temptations all around him. The biggest temptation that he faces is my heroine, a human named Jade. If Az isn’t careful (okay, spoiler—he never is!), he might discover that there are things in this world that are even more important than an angel’s redemption.

4. How did you come up with the Fallen Series?

I’ve always been interested in angels and angel lore. There are so many types of angels out there, so I thought—let’s see what can happen with them. Punishment angels, death angels, guardians…they just seemed to beg for stories. In my books, I wanted the angels to live an existence very different from the one that humans live. So, in my books, angels never experience emotions—not until they fall and lose their wings. Once the wings burn away, emotions hit them. And with emotions, well, that’s when the fun comes.

5. If you could be one of your characters from the Fallen Series, who would you want to be and why?

I’m not sure I’d want to be one! They have a pretty hard (and scary) time. I think I’d rather just read about them from the safe distance of a book.

6. Who designs the sexy covers of the Fallen Series? (by far my fave has been Angel in Chains) =)

I am so glad that you like the covers—thank you! The wonderful folks at Kensington do my covers. Colleen Andrews did the cover work for ANGEL IN CHAINS.

7. What has been the easiest scene to write in the series and the hardest?

The easiest scene to write was actually the opening scene in ANGEL OF DARKNESS. During this scene, my first angel hero, Keenan, falls. This scene actually came to me very quickly, and it inspired all of the other Fallen stories. I saw Keenan falling, I knew why he fell—and I just had to write the book to explain his journey. In the beginning of that book, Keenan is perched on the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. He’s watching, waiting, and ultimately making a choice that changes the lives of everyone in all of my Fallen series.

The hardest scene? Now that is a tough question. I think writing the final battle scene in ANGEL OF CHAINS was the hardest. I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll just say that I wanted readers to know just how much power one person could have—and that the choices we make can have more consequences than we realize.

8. I have a huge crush on Sammael, how has he been since his book "Angel Betrayed" and what is he now up to?

LOL, I am so glad you have a crush on Sammael! He’s doing well. Just raising a little hell here and there. He does appear in both ANGEL IN CHAINS and in AVENGING ANGEL (due out in May of 2013). He’s one of my favorite characters. So dark. So strong. So sarcastic.

9. When you are not writing, what are your hobbies and interests?

I love to watch horror movies. And to snorkel. I also read an insane amount!

10. Do you have anything specific you want to say to your readers?

I would just like to say thank you! Thank you for all of the wonderful support that you have given to me and to my books. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Fun quick questions:

11. Coffee or Hot Tea: Hot tea

12. Beach or Mountains: Beach

13. Sunrise or Sunset: Sunset

14. Summer or Winter: Summer

15. Country Music or Rock N' Roll: Rock N’ Roll

When the moment of death comes, Keenan hesitates, and instead of taking Nicole, Keenan touches the vampire who’s attacking her.
Cast out of heaven for disobedience, Keenan plummets to earth. Six months later, he finally manages to track Nicole to a bar in Mexico. He’s stunned to discover that the woman he remembers has undergone a dramatic change—she’s become a vampire. Angel Betrayed

FranJessca's Review

Description:
A LITTLE BIT OF ANGEL LUST.
Sammael – call him Sam – was an angel once. An angel of death. But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn’t working for him when it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have cost him his wings, but these days, he gets to apply the direct method on the bad guys. Problem is, what’s making his life difficult is a bad girl…
Seline O’Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she’s not going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam’s virtue is questionable, but he’s smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favor. So what if she’s getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn deadly sins after her hide…
