2. Tell us a little bit about The Darkest Craving and why readers should definitely buy it?
The Darkest Craving is about Kane, an immortal warrior who has endured weeks of torture in the bowels of hell. He wants nothing to do with his beautiful rescuer, Josephina Aisling, the half-Fae female who threatens to awaken the demon of Disaster living inside him—a beast determined to kill anyone who makes Kane happy. And Josephina certainly does make Kane happy (and hard)!
But the main reason to read any story? The characters!
Kane: He will do anything—and I mean anything—to protect Josephina. Throw another woman out of a moving vehicle? Done. Return to hell, even though he would rather be hacked into tiny pieces while still alive? Fine. I love a man who’s willing to do anything for the woman he loves.
Josephina: She grew up in the world of the Fae, where the Lords of the Underworld are like rock stars. In the beginning, she has a hard time not asking Kane for an autograph (though she’s a bigger fan of Paris and Torin, much to Kane’s chagrin). She’s an intriguing mix of sassy modern and old world charm, but like Kane, she knows the horrors of disaster and she’s determined to help him alter his path.
Their relationship was an emotional rollercoaster for me!
3. Tell us a little bit about Kane and why readers have been anxiously waiting for his book? (I know I have )
He’s never had it easy, and because of the demon of Disaster, things have only gotten worse for him throughout the Lords of the Underworld series. Knowing the demon of Disaster would hurt—and kill—a love interest, he hasn’t allowed himself to date in centuries. He’s had to rely on one night stands to get him by. But that isn’t going to be enough with Josephina. He can’t get her out of his mind. He wants more. Craves more. She obsesses him. But there’s a problem that might prove bigger than the demon…
4. What was the easiest and hardest scene to write in The Darkest Craving?
Easiest: Probably…Kane beats the crap out of a guy for daring to touch what belongs to him--Josephina. He’s covered in blood as he sweeps her into his arms to carry her away, and in the process he gets blood on her dress. So, he takes her straight to the shower to wash himself and the dress…while she watches. It’s a scene that made me smile, and made me melt. (And made me do a little more shivering).
Hardest: The ending. The emotions of it… I broke down.
5. Who would you want to portray both Kane and Josephina, if The Darkest Craving was made in a tv series?
I think Alex Pettyfer is gorgeous man-candy, and I could look at him all day. He’s strong, chiseled. Slap a butterfly tattoo on him, color his hair, and boom. Delish. Maybe…Zooey Dechanel for Josephina. Her blend of innocence and sassy is perfect. Or even Olivia Munn.
6. What kind of heat level or I should say sexual tension should we expect from Kane and Josephina?
(Every LOTU book has definitely had some HOT, sexy scenes in them )
The Darkest Craving is hotter than my last book, Beauty Awakened, and since Kane has to be careful not to anger his demon, the sexual tension does indeed build! He reaches a point where he can’t take it anymore…and has to take what belongs to him…
7. How many more books are planned for LOTU? (please say plenty more...because I definitely LOVE this series)
There will be at least two more! And the next in the series will be…Torin!
8. Fun Question: What movies have you seen so far this summer, or are looking forward to still seeing this summer?
I haven’t been to a movie theater in forever, it seems. The last move I saw was Warm Bodies here at the house (and I thought it was super cute!)
9. Fun Question: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
I’d like to fly! No more planes for this girl.
10. What is up next for Gena Showalter?

I live in Colorado and my cat is my writing partner. I’ve even dedicated books to her:)
2. What does a typical writing day look for you?
Up around 9 and I do some PR stuff until about noon. Then I write until 7 and go workout.Then I answer emails and do PR stuff. I do this 7 days a week.
3. Tell us a little bit about Escaping Reality and why readers should check it out?
This is my first New Adult and it is filled with angst and passion and a mystery. Amy had to go on the run when her family was murdered and she doesn’t know who she is running from.She finally feels safe when she finds out she has been found. She goes on the run and meets Liam Stone, a sexy protege, prodigy architect, that inherited a fortune from his mentor. He takes her her into a world of passion and gives her strength as her world is unraveling again. He is older than her and much more experienced. She craves his protectiveness. But can she really trust him?
4. What inspired you to write The Secret Life of Amy Benson books?
Amy came to me well over a year ago and just took root. I started writing her story but didn’t have time to finish. I don’t know what made her come to me but she refused to not be heard.
5. What was the easiest and hardest scene to write in Escaping Reality?
The sex scenes are always the hardest. They have to serve an emotional development purpose. They usually take me days to write.
6. Who designed the cover to Escaping Reality?
Sarah from OKAY DESIGNS and she is fabulous. I love this cover so much.
7. Fun Question: Describe yourself in three words.
Workaholic. Worrier. Clumsy.
8. Fun Question: If Escaping Reality was made into a move/tv show, which actor/actress would you want to portray the characters?
Well Inside Out is in development for cable TV so I think we will find out soon!

1. I’m terribly afraid of spiders.

3. I love horror movies, comic book heroes and Japanese animation.
2. What does a typical writing day look for you?
Me sitting in front of my laptop or desktop listening to one song on repeat. There may or may not be a snack involved. LOL.
3. What inspired you to write the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles?
I love vampires and shape-shifters. I also love writing and I wanted to create the book series I’ve always wanted to read. I wanted to create characters and relationships that you don’t normally see in this genre. I wanted to create scenarios that you don’t find in most books in this genre. I wanted to break down barriers and be as innovative in my series as I could to blaze a new trail in the paranormal/urban fantasy genre.
4. What was the easiest and hardest scene to write in the series?
I didn’t really find any difficulty at all when writing the KOTDC. Each story line just played out in my mind like a movie and I just had to type fast to keep up. lol
5. If your series was made into a movie or tv show, who would you want to portray the characters?
I think this series would make one hell of a movie or TV series. There’s so much action, sex, humor, it really is the total package. It would take some very talented actors to pull it off. Here are a few just off the top of my head. Tyler Hoeclin as Warren Jensen Ackles as John Jesse Williams as Adrian Joe Manganiello as Daniel or Ignacio
6. Do you ever suffer with writer's block and if you do how do you overcome it?
No, I’ve never suffered with writer’s block, thank goodness.
7. What are some your favorite t.v. shows to watch?
I love TV shows with tons of action and if supernatural creatures are involved, I’m a fan. I enjoy True Blood, Being Human, Burn Notice, Vampire Diaries, Arrow, Walking Dead, Spartacus, Teen Wolf, Dexter, Person of Interest and Supernatural. What tv shows are you looking forward to watching this fall? In addition to my regular line-up, Dracula looks interesting, and Almost Human looks like an entertaining futuristic, action-packed series. Also, it doesn’t hurt that it’s starring super cutie, Karl Urban.
8. Fun Question: If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?

I was born in the little, but big bustling city of Chicago, Illinois. I still live there today and I’m loving every second of it ... Except for those harsh cold winters. I started writing short horror stories when I was eleven years old. It wasn't until 2004 that I decided to take the plunge into the professional literary world when I wrote Desires Unleashed.
I love the supernatural world; I've always found it fascinating, especially vampires and shape-shifters. It was my love of the genre that motivated me to create the story I had always wanted to read. I published it, hoping there were other people out there who would be entertained by that same story. I love to entertain people, to offer them that fantasy world they can escape into filled with wonders and good times. I know I appreciate the escapism I've delved into when reading a good book.
Some of the accolades I've won for my writing are: "New Voice of Today" by A Romance Review, "Rising Star" by Love Romance and "Author of the Month" by Warrior of Words.
