Desperately Wanting Wednesday: Where did it go?
Desperately Wanting Wednesday (hosted by ParaJunkee), is inspired by the meme Waiting on Wednesday, which was created by Breaking the Spine.
But, unlike WOWs, Desperately Wanting Wedneday is not only for releases
that we're waiting on, it’s also for released novels that we just haven’t
purchased yet, or might be sitting on our shelf that we want to read, but
just haven’t gotten there yet.
Anna and I chose to post about a book we've forgotten to read...well..not technically forgotten, but haven't had a chance to read yet.
Anna:
I couldn't really think of one I've lost or forgotten about but I did find a couple of future releases that I forgot about. July is sure to be a HOT month with these two books coming out.

Allow yourself to imagine the man behind the dark sunglasses. Hear the purr of his zipper as he lowers it, then reaches for the shiny metal hanging from his black leather belt. It’s futile to resist arrest. Give yourself up to the fantasy. Besides, he thinks you’re so hot in handcuffs…
Arresting Desire by Shayla Black
FBI Agent Jon Bocelli never stopped wanting beautiful professor Lucia DiStefano. She’s interested in taking her first lover, and he intends to be that man. When her past puts her life in danger, Jon risks everything to save her and prove this fling is forever.
On Fire by Sylvia Day
When Deputy Marshal Jared Cameron investigates a series of arson attacks in a seaside town, the biggest blast of heat comes from sexy fire inspector Darcy Michaels—until their scorching after-hours affair is compromised by a secret from Darcy’s past.
The Unwilling by Shiloh Walker
Mica Greer and her former lover, ex-FBI agent Colby Mathis once shared an intimate past and a powerful psychic gift. Now, they’ve been reunited by a bizarre series of murders—and an electrifying passion that could put them both in jeopardy.

FranJessca:
Seriously...I'm about to kick myself in
the ass for not reading, yet. I'm a HUGE Fan of Gena Showalter. I
bought this book back in September when it released.
Here's
my excuse on why I haven't read it. I was pregnant at the time with my
2nd daughter and was so uncomfortable the last couple of months...my
brain was not working properly. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to
it.
This book is staring at me on my
bookshelf, taunting me to read it, but I have other books that need to
be reviewed first. Ahhh!!
I even have The Darkest Seduction on my Kindle waiting on me.
I will read it before "Wicked Nights" comes out next month. I promise!!

thought possible..

Shadow Bound by Rachel Vincent just released yesterday, but unfortunately I have to wait until next month to buy it. Boo!!! I've gone over my limit this month on buying books. LOL
KORI DANIELS is a shadow-walker, able to travel instantly from one shadow to another. After weeks of confinement for betraying her boss, she’s ready to break free of the Tower syndicate for good. But Jake Tower has one final job for Kori, one chance to secure freedom for herself and her sister, Kenley, even if that means taking it from someone else…
The job? Recruit Ian Holt—or kill him.
Ian’s ability to manipulate the dark has drawn interest from every syndicate in the world, most notably an invitation from Jake Tower. Though he has no interest in organized crime, Ian accepts the invite, because he’s on a mission of his own. Ian has come to kill Tower’s top Binder: Kori’s little sister.
Amid the tangle of lies, an unexpected thread of truth connecting Ian and Kori comes to light. But with opposing goals, they’ll have to choose between love and liberty…

Desperately Wanting Wednesday: The Book we would commit a Crime for
There is always one book out there that you would do anything to get your hands on to read....maybe even commit a crime to get it..hmmm?
FranJessca
After reading Blood Bound... and seeing the final cover of the next in the "Unbound" Series, "Shadow Bound"...I knew I would have issues waiting for this book. I only have 6 more days though. I can wait 6 more days. I think. LOL
This is one book...when I do it get it...I will lock myself away to read. Hubby better be prepared to take care of the girls.

I have fallen in love with the Lords of Deliverance but the one that I'm most in love with is Reseph. I CAN NOT wait to read his book!!! December is way too far away! :( I would do almost anything to read it early!!!
Description:
The prophecies were there but no one listened. Until now. They are the Lords of Deliverance and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride.
Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues - and falls for - a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man that Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man that can be very dangerous . . .
Reseph may not know his background, or why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbours are killed and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world with death and destruction, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

Desperately Wanting Wednesday: Books People Want me to Want
Desperately Wanting Wednesday is not only for releases that we're waiting
on, it’s also for already released novels that we just haven’t purchased
yet, or gotten to.
These are books that people told us to read…as you can tell we still haven't read them...
FranJessca
I'm going to have to agree on ParaJunkee with this Wednesday DWW. People have suggested several times to me to try out the Fifty Shades Books...but unfortunately other books take precedence. I guess I'm just not into the hype of these books. I did read "Bared to You" by Sylvia Day last month and I've been told it's just like Fifty Shades...and that is why I want to read Fifty Shades so I can hopefully prove those people wrong. Nothing can compare to my Gideon Cross. =)
Anna
Like FranJessca, I too have been told to read the Fifty Shades of Grey books but I'm still on the fence about whether I'll read them. But the books I've been told to read the most are the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. So many people have recommended them to me I just order the first few so, we'll see. I hope I love them as much as everyone else!

Desperating Wanting Wednesday: Romance Edition

Anna
I'm a huge Lori Foster fan and I've read pretty much all of her books. I SO loved her Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series and I was so sad to see it end. I'm am not sad anymore though because she has a new series with the first book set to release September 25th. I'm so excited!!!When Detective Logan Riske goes undercover to findPepper Yates, a potential link to his best friend’s unsolved murder, he vows to gain her cooperation by any means necessary. But the elusive beauty is more suspicious—and in far more danger—than he expected. And the last thing Logan needs is to start caring for her...
Pepper has spent years dodging the corrupt club owner who will stop at nothing to keep her silenced. She can trust no one, not even the handsome new “construction worker” who’s moved in next door. The heat between them is undeniable. But will surrendering to passion bring her the safety she so desires—or will her feelings for Logan draw them both into a killer’s crosshairs?
FranJessca
I'm addicted to the Fast Track Series. I love being able to get my fix on some sexy NASCAR guys. I have to finish 4 of the books before I get this one when it comes out in July. =)
She’s holding tight. He’s hanging loose.
Eve Monroe is a stock-car PR pro who puts her career first—until an on-track wardrobe malfunction reveals more than the sexy smile of her race-car brother’s jack-man, Nolan Ford. The video’s become an internet sensation, and it’s Eve’s job to calm the sponsors and put a spin on the unexpected exposure. It may ...be purely a public relations job, but now that Eve’s seen what’s under Nolan’s crew suit, she can’t help but be a little revved up.
And they both have the same drive.
When Eve and Nolan end up in Vegas during race weekend, the chemistry is combustible. Somewhere between cocktails and a smoking-hot motel-room derby of their own, Eve and Nolan wake up hitched, thanks to a detour to a Vegas chapel. A hangover marriage to a virtual stranger isn’t good for anyone’s image, so Eve plans to play the happy wife long enough to satisfy the press, and then quietly part ways. Now all she has to do is convince her new personal jack-man. But Nolan has plans of his own…

Nautier And Wilder
(Nauti #7 & Wild Riders #6)
by: Lora Leigh & Jaci Burton
I also love these two series, Nauti Boys (Leigh) and Wilder Riders (Burton), SO much! But hands down, the Nauti Boys are my favorite alpha males in these types of romance novels. I am SO excited to get another story but annoyed that I have to wait until December. :( This is one book I would probably talkie another just to get my hands on it. LOL

Wicked Nights
by: Gena Showalter
Publishing Date: June 26, 2012
Seriously, a new Series by Gena Showalter. I will be beyond jealous when I see other bloggers reading this book before I can. I love Gena Showalter and can't wait to read about Angels from her. =)
Description:
From the New York Times bestselling author who brought you the Lords of the Underworld comes a dark, seductive new series featuring angels poised on the brink of destruction.... Leader of the most powerful army in the heavens, Zacharel has been deemed nearly too dangerous, too ruthless-and if he isn't careful, he'll lose his wings. But this warrior with a heart of ice will not be deterred from his missions, at any cost...until a vulnerable human tempts him with a carnal pleasure he's never known before. Accused of a crime she did not commit, Annabelle Miller has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane. Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her. Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation-or her ultimate damnation?
Savage Hunger
by: Terry Spear
Publishing Date: October 2012
I've been a fan of Terry Spear for awhile now and when I found out she was writing about Jaguar Shifters next for a series...I got really EXCITED. =)
I have to wait until October though. Boo!! I'll be stalking Netgalley around August/September to see if the book will be in there...and if isn't. I guess I can patiently wait for this book to come out for my Kindle. =(
Description:
In the heat of the jungle, jaguars are clawed, dangerous, and hungry for love. With hopes of overcoming night terrors and thanking the man who saved her life, Kathleen McKnight returns to the Amazon. A jaguar at heart, Connor Anderson doesn’t just protect her, but wants to claim her for his own.
Kiss the Dead
(Anita Blake #21)
by: Laurell K. Hamilton
Publishing Date: June 5, 2012
I'm going to be serious with this book...I will be putting down ALL other books when I purchased this book in June. No lie! Sorry...but Anita Blake books take priority since I've been a fan ever since I picked up the first book a couple of years ago. It only took me a couple of books to read the first 18 book in the series. Yes...I'm that serious about this series. I've never known of other bloggers getting ARCs on these books...but we'll see this year, if they do. Laurell likes to debut it the day it comes out and likes to keep secrets too. I will be the jealous reader if someone does get their hands on it early. I'm in love with Nataniel in this book and I need my fix of him soon. LOL
Description:
When a fifteen-year-old girl is abducted by vampires, it’s up to U.S. Marshal Anita Blake to find her. And when she does, she’s faced with something she’s never seen before: a terrifyingly ordinary group of people—kids, grandparents, soccer moms—all recently turned and willing to die to avoid serving a master. And where there’s one martyr, there will be more. But even vampires have monsters that they’re afraid of. And Anita is one of them...

There were no surprises in Gatlin County.
We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere.
At least, that's what I thought.
Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was a grave.
Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.
Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.
In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

by: Stephenie Meyer
Okay...I'm behind the curve on reading this, but that's because I forgot all about it. After Anna let me know that this is being made into a movie...I had to make it a priority for this year to make sure to read it so I can see the movie. Right now I'm reading "Hunger Games" so I can see the movie.
Description:
Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.
When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love

I actually have this book on my book shelves and have wanted to read it for awhile now. I love Anne Rice. She's been my favorite Author since I was a kid. Yes..my parents actually let me read her books. My Dad didn't want to keep me from reading, watching or listening to things like his parents did when he was a kid.
Description:
From bestselling author Anne Rice, writing as A.N. Roquleaure. In the traditional folktale of 'Sleeping Beauty,' the spell cast upon the lovely young princess and everyone in her castle can only be broken by the kiss of a Prince. It is an ancient story, one that originally emerged from and still deeply disturbs the mind's unconscious. Now Anne Rice's retelling of the Beauty story probes the unspoken implications of this lush, suggestive tale by exploring its undeniable connection to sexual desire. Here the Prince reawakens Beauty, not with a kiss, but with sexual initiation. His reward for ending the hundred years of enchantment is Beauty's complete and total enslavement to him…as Anne Rice explores the world of erotic yearning and fantasy in a classic that becomes, with her skillful pen, a compelling experience.
Anna's Pick
Once again I couldn't choose between two books so I'm going to show them both. First though I want to say that retold fairy tales are some of my favorites. I grew up reading fairy tales and I have my faves from then but as an adult it was really cool to find my favorite stories retold in an adult way. A couple of my faves are the Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice, fantastic books, and Niel Gaiman's Stardust. I'm not sure if Stardust is an actual retelling of a story but it has a little bit from lots of tales all together in one story I think. It's a really really great book.

Description
A strange imprisonment...

When her father comes home with the tale of an enchanted castle in the forest and the terrible promise he had to make to the Beast who lives there, Beauty knows she must go to the castle, a prisoner of her own free will. Her father protests that he will not let her go, but she answers, "Cannot a Beast be tamed?"
Robin McKinley's beloved telling illuminates the unusual love story of a most unlikely couple, Beauty and the Beast.

Though terrified by the savage Lucien, Falon finds herself drawn to him. Torn between the love she has for Rafael and the hunger she holds for Lucien, the will of Falon’s heart will lead her to her destined life mate–but it may also doom the brothers and the

Jacinda was supposed to bond with Cassian, the "prince" of their pride. But she resisted long before she fell in love with Will—a human and, worse, a hunter. When she ran away with Will, it ended in disaster, with Cassian's sister, Miram, captured. Weighed down by guilt, Jacinda knows she must rescue her to set things right. Yet to do so she will have to venture deep into the heart of enemy territory.
The only way Jacinda can reach Miram is by posing as a prisoner herself, though once she assumes that disguise, things quickly spiral out of her control. As she learns more about her captors, she realizes that even if Will and Cassian can carry out their part of the plan, there's no guarantee they'll all make it out alive. But what Jacinda never could have foreseen is that escaping would be only the beginning....

Adria, wolf changeling soldier, has made a break with a past as
unpredictable in love as it was in war. Now comes a devastating new complication: Riaz, a SnowDancer whose lone-wolf appeal is beyond sexual. It’s primal. And it consumes them as completely as the impending cataclysmic Psy war—a battle that may alter the very fate of the world.

The Offspring is one of the first PNR series I ever read and I absolutely fell in love with The characters. Especially the special characters, which includes the main man in this book, Lachlan. I am SO excited to read his story.
Lachlan and Jessie are two people who don't play well with others. But they're going to have to learn to, and quickly. Because they are the only two people in the world who can save each other.

Desperately Wanting Wednesday: 2011 Hyped Books We Missed
Desperately Wanting Wednesday is not only for releases that we're waiting on, it’s also for already released novels that we just haven’t purchased yet, or gotten to.
We can’t read them all, can we? So these are our lament to the books we missed in 2011 that were all hyped up and we just couldn’t get our hands on them, or we forgot about them by the time the release date came around.

Eternal Rider
by: Larissa Ione
I'm ashamed really for not even attempting to read this book last year. I'm a HUGE fan of Larissa Ione. I read her Demonica Series within a month timeframe. I was sad when she ended that series, but was ecstatic to find out about her new series she was bringing out. I've yet to pick up this book to read, I even have it on my bookshelf to read. *SMDH*
I must read this soon. The 3rd book is about to come out in June. April is the month I will be reading this book no matter what. =)
Fifty Shades of Grey
by: EL James
I've noticed a lot of readers loving this book and the series....and yet I didn't pick up this book when I had the chance last year to read it.
Ahhhh!!!!
This is on my TBR Challenge to read.
I know I will be reading this book and the rest of the books before the end of the year though and that's a Promise.

In Bed with a Highlander
by: Maya Banks
I've been wanting to read this book since I saw it on Amazon.com. I love reading about Highlanders and I've always wanted to read a book by Maya Banks. So what's my excuse. I have no excuse really, just haven't had time to reserve it at my Library. *Slaps my hand* Bad, Fran!!!
The cover should automatically make me put down other books just to read this book.
I've been abducted I guess by aliens because the real Fran would've already read this book.

Never Enough
by: Lauren Dane
I have no excuse for not reading this book yet. Really, I should have and I'm thinking I will soon just so I can finally finish this whole series. I think maybe I know Adrian will be my favorite and I really don't want it to end. LOL

Changing the Game
by: Jaci Burton
There is one main reason why I haven't bought this book yet. The first book just wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It was good but not THAT good. I had myself all excited about this whole series and then that first one just fell flat. :( I will eventually get to this book though. I have faith Mrs. Burton can grab my attention again.

Midnight Sins
by: Lora Leigh
If you've ever read Lora Leigh you know she's very addictive...until she starts making HUGE mistakes in her books. After reading the early reviews for this one I kinda lost interest. I will read it some day though. I'm a loyal fan so I gotta read it!

Everdark
by: Elle Jasper
After I read Afterlight I sort of forgot about it and I didn't realize this book was out until about a month or so ago when the new one was showing it would be released soon. Since that release was yesterday I need to read this one soon so I can get to the new book.

by: Melissa Marr
I love Melissa Marr, her Wicked Lovely series is really good so when I saw this I knew I had to read it. I planned to buy as soon as it came out and then I don't know what happened. I guess other more important books came out and I just forgot about it. Now that I've remembered it though, I will be reading it.

Scorpio Races
by: Maggie Stiefvater
Now this definitely upsets me I haven't read this book. I got a chance to meet Maggie Stiefvater last year in August. This book came out in October. I've even been told, I'm missing out on this book. It's different from her YA Wolf Series.
Maggie, I'm so sorry I haven't read this book yet, but I promise I will read it soon. I even have my 6 year old daughter, picking on me about not reading this book yet. She's been bugging me about seeing Maggie Stiefvater again. At least the next time Maggie tours here in the area, I won't be 7 months pregnant and uncomfortable.
