Shelf Candy ( #10 )

Shelf Candy hosted by Five Alarm Book Reviews. Every Saturday, bloggers choose a book whose cover really catches their eye.
Who doesn't judge a book by it's cover?
 FranJessca's Pick
Title: Halo
Author: Alexandra Adornetto
Designer: Rich Deas and Tim Hall
Feather Image is from iStockphoto

I read this book back in 2010.  I don't think I really read the description of the book. I just dived into it because of the beautiful cover.  I love Angels...and every time there's a new Angel Book, PNR or YA, I always manage to read it or add it to my TBR.  =)
The design is beautifully done.
I love silhouettes and this is just stunning.  =)
The wings were the first to draw me in though when I was buying the book.

Anna's Pick

Title:  Wicked As They Come
Author: Delilah S. Dawson
Designer: Tony Mauro

I saw this book yesterday when looking on another blog and I immediately knew I wanted to read it. This is such an awesome cover! I LOVE the guy in his steampunk getup with that sexy look about him. There's just something about him! I don't usually go for steampunk themed book but this cover has me wanting to change my mind! I will be reading this one very soon!

And the designer is amazing! He has the coolest art work on his site! Very talented!

Yes, those Halo covers are super striking !

These are both terrific covers, but Halo is an all time favorite of mine. The lighting, the realistic wings, the girls gorgeous hair and the lovely moment that is captured between the two all make for a cover that would make anyone want to know more.
I have not read Wicked as They Come, but the cover is super unique.
Thanks for sharing the two of them.

Great covers! I love the wing treatment on the Halo cover and I always love sunlit backlighting. It's very romantic. And the Wicked As They Come cover is one of my favs. Did an interview with Tony Mauro about it. He's done some of my favorite covers! Really nice picks!

I've always loved the cover of Halo! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Hi, FranJessca & Anna!

Thanks for commenting on my Shelf Candy pick yesterday!! I'm commenting back!

OMG, these are both GORGEOUS covers!! However, I do prefer the one for "Halo". This is one of my all-time favorite covers, because of everything you mentioned, FranJessca -- the wings, the silhouette...I also love Xavier's handsome profile, and the sweet way Bethany is looking up at him...sigh...

As for your pick, Anna, yes, the guy is SIZZLING HOT!! I haven't read any Steampunk novels, either, but this one might be a good place to start! The guy does look a bit creepy, though, as well as sexy.

GREAT choices both!!

These are great!! I am drawn to Halo every time I see it on a bookshelf. The sun light is amazing and it just looks like they are so in love.

And the second, this is the first I have seen it but Whoa Momma!!! lol. I think really my favorite aspect is a small thing but its the detail in the W in Wicked.
Both are great choices. You ladies rock!

these are both really cool covers. dying to read wicked as they come. we're actually going to have an interview with the cover designer for halo on our blog soon. hope you'll stop by when it's up.

I love both picks.
FranJessca, I think the cover for Halo is absolutely breathtaking. I just love the light in the background. It makes everything so magical. And wings are really beautifulI haven't read a lot of angel books but I do love angels.

As for your cover, Anna, I agree, I love what the guy's wearing. Along with his expression I think it makes him look mysterious and a bit mesmerizing.

I also love how the designer played with the W to make it look like fangs. Even the I has a little bit of blood on it. I also love the general vampire-y darkness of the cover. It reminds me a little of the Underworld movies.
I think I have this on my TBR pile as well. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
