Jake Harrison likes to be a hero. He tends to find women who are in need of rescue in some way or another. Last time he did though, he got himself suspended from his job as a detective. He knows he shouldn't help the woman who he helps after she's run over by a car but he can't help but be attracted to Andrea Wadsworth, the beautiful fiance of an almost senator.

Andrea's life changes the moment she gets a phone call saying her grandfather is dying. Nothing goes right, instead everything in her life goes terribly wrong. She's hit by a car, he fiance she thought she loved betrays her, and now she's running from said fiance because he wants to keep her drugged and institutionalized to keep her mouth shut. But she finds in Jake exactly what she needs, someone to help her and be her hero. 

Once the problem is gone will Jake still want to be with Andrea and will Andrea want to be with Jake once she finds out all of his ugly secrets?

Review

This was a surprisingly good read! It kept my attention from the very first page! The story line was creative and fun, the characters were very well built and quite interesting and though you can tell a little that this is one of her first published books, Ninette really captured my attention.

I really enjoyed the relationship between Jake and Andrea, they were pretty intense together and it moved really fast and it made for some pretty entertaining banter between them. The bad guys were the same old bad guys in a book like this but it worked for me. Though I do wish there had been a little more info on what all happened between Jake and the other woman.

My one and only problem with this book was that it kind of reads like a harlequin novel. It gets a little extra cheesy at certain parts but since I've read my fare share of Harlequins, I didn't mind that much.

Over all I give this book 4 Moons and recommend it to those who love Romantic Suspense. I will definitely be reading future books written by Ninette!
