Blog Tour: "Last Vamp Standing" by Kristin Miller (Interview/Giveaway)
1.
Tell us 5
things about yourself that readers may not know.
I
go to the gym to offset my chocolate addiction. I’ve traveled to almost every
state in the country. I live on a farm. I collect coffee mugs from every
writing conference I attend. I don’t (see: can’t) watch horror movies.
2.
What was
your favorite chapter (or part) in Last Vampire Standing and Why?
I
love the final battle scene. I enjoy writing action scenes anyway, but this one
was special because it was the culmination of all three books in the Vampires
of Crimson Bay series.
3.
What was
the hardest scene to write in Last Vampire Standing and Why?
The
entire book was difficult to write. Tying together all the strings, doing
justice to overarching story lines and carry-over characters while still
focusing on the steamy relationship of the hero and heroine…every bit of it was
a challenge. But you know what they say—if writing a book was easy, everyone
would do it!
4.
Do you
work with an outline when you first come up with a book or do you just start
writing?
I
work with a loose outline. I see the first chapter first, a few turning points,
and the climax. Everything else develops as I go.
5.
Do you
ever experience writer's block?
There
are days when I can’t write or the words are sluggish. I either push through
for a few days (and then end up deleting everything I wrote because it’s
usually sludge) or stop and do something different. I’ll go to the gym or take
a mini-vacation to the beach or mountains. I haven’t had writer’s block that’s
lasted longer than a few days. I try to nip it before it lingers.
6.
What do
you do when you’re are not writing (hobbies..etc.)?
I
love watching movies, whether at home or the theatre. (I watched Bourne Legacy
last night and LOVED it!) I enjoy golfing and playing volleyball (sand or
grass) in Summer and snowboarding in Winter.
7.
Fun
question: If you could have dinner with a famous person (dead or alive)
who would it be and why?
Thomas
Andrews. He was the mastermind behind the building of the Titanic and I’ve got
an addiction to researching Titanic info.
8.
Fun
question: You are deserted on an island, what three things must you have
to survive?
Coffee.
My Husband. The “How to Survive on a Deserted Island for Dummies” book.
9.
What
projects are up next for you?
I’m currently writing two erotic paranormal romance novellas to continue my Isle of Feralon series with Harlequin
Cravings. The novellas take place on an enchanted isle where dragons rule the
skies, werewolves rule the land, and merfolk rule the sea. They’ll release
sometime next year. I’m also working on a three book paranormal romance/urban
fantasy series.

he’s ever known about sacrifice, passion, and soul-scorching

Kristin Miller has had a passion for language and literature
her whole life. Born and raised in Small Town USA, she often made up stories about faraway places and edge-of-your-seat adventures.
After graduating from Humboldt State University with a degree in psychology, Kristin realized there is no scarier place than the warped human psyche. Wanting to combine her love of writing with her desire to paint twisted villains, Kristin wound up in the unlikeliest of places—the class- room. She taught high school and middle school English before giving in to the desire to create her own world, where villains can be sympathetic and heroes can be devilishly good.
She is represented by Nalini Akolekar of Spencerhill Associates Ltd. and writes dark paranormal romances and toe curling romantic suspense.
