Review: "Rogue Rider" by Larissa Ione

Rogue Rider
(Lords of Deliverance #4)
Publishing Date: 11/20/12
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Source: Netgalley

Description:
They're here.
They ride.
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Born of a match between good and evil, four siblings stand between hell's minions and everything they want to destroy. They are the Lords of Deliverance, and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride . . .
ROGUE RIDER
Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues-and falls for-a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming, and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man whom Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man who can be very dangerous . . .
Reseph may not know why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbors are killed, and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: Can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

My Review:
First off, let me just say so sorry I am to not have had this book read/reviewed before it was published.  Family issues took precedence and of course I was neglecting school work.  (Never a good thing...I had to play catch up because of family issues)
I am so glad I read "Rogue Rider" when I could and slowly because Reseph has been a FAVE character of mine since the first book.  Even though the first 3 books he was Pestilence.

Jillian Cardiff is trying to get over what she went through several months ago when the demons started showing up.  She was one of the survivors...at least physically...but not emotionally.
She decided to live alone on a mountain with her animals.  When she is out doing her chores, she comes upon a man in the snow who is naked.  She know she should call someone to help her with him, but the phones are done and the snow has made it difficult to travel.
When the man comes to, he does not remember his name or where he came from.  He does not even know how he came to be in the snow naked.  He does have thoughts in his head that tell him his name is Reseph.
When demons come to Jullian's town, Reseph believes he has something to do with him, but he's not sure why.  Jullian is not sure what is happening, but all she knows is the demons showed up when Reseph showed up...can she really trust him?
In the meantime, Reseph's family believe's Pestilence/Reseph to be dead due to what happened in "Lethal Rider".  Reaver, the Horsemen's Watcher, knows where Reseph is and what happened to him since he helped get him there.

I do not want to give away any spoilers because I will give away too much.
I can say this, Larissa Ione definitely has a fan for life because she can write a book that sucks me into the pages.  I actually felt Reseph's pain when his memory came back.  The poor horseman.  =(
I know, I know...he was a baddie for such a long time, but that was Pestilence, not Reseph.
Truths came out in this book and they definitely were shocking.  Oh boy...was I in shock...but one of them...I kinda figured out and I was one happy reader when it finally revealed.  =)
Julian is now a FAVE out of all the female characters from the Lords of Deliverance that I definitely connected with.  She was not a wimpy heroine...she helped Reseph and she definitely was destined to meed Reseph from the beginning.  He needed someone to knock him around in the head and he met his match with her.
There is one question that I need answered after this book and that is what happened to Harvester?  I can tell it will be answered in Reaver's book...but I am still confused with her character.  She is nice one minute and then a downright cold heart b***h the next.

LOVE, Larissa Ione's writing style.  She is one of my FAVE Authors who is difficult not to stay up late at night to finish a book and I definitely enjoyed Reseph's book.  (see...a trend with me yet..on the bad boys who turn good)
Her Horsemen of the Apocalypse...is definitely one of my top FAVE series.  You can tell from Larissa's writing, that she does a lot of research into her books.  And can I just say...I'm so excited to read her next Demonica book....(how I've missed that series).

Larissa Ione...I really think you love to have your readers go through their emotions when reading your books though.  I definitely will have to re-read this series again because I know I will miss the Horsemen & of course Horsewoman (sorry Limos).
Reseph's story was perfect for him.  The ending definitely was EPIC and here is another thing...WTH is up with the WARG that Julian got?  (sorry...not telling anyone about that...will give away something important)
If you love Larissa Ione and have not read this series yet...what are you waiting for?  This is a MUST-READ.
If you love the paranormal romance genre, love angels and demons and stories about saving the world from a apocalypse...this definitely needs to go on your to-read list on Goodreads.
Did I forget to mention the steamy scenes and the action that Larissa puts into her books.  She definitely levels them all out and puts them in places...that you will either have to take a cold shower or curse the bad guys out.  (at least that's what I did)
You will definitely miss the Lords of Deliverance once you are done reading...but thank goodness, Larissa has new books coming out in the near future to quench our thirst.  She also tends to make us fall in love with future characters.  =)

I received a complimentary copy of "Rogue Rider" from the Publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
