Review: "Eternal Demon" by Laura Wright

Eternal Demon
(Mark of the Vampire #5)
Publishing Date: 5/7/13
Publisher: Signet Eclipse
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Source: Netgalley

Description:
When Erion’s son is kidnapped by the evil vampire Cruen, Erion vows to stop at nothing to find his hideaway—including intercepting the traveling party of Cruen’s beautiful bride-to-be. But instead of a vulnerable caravan, Erion is met by a feral band of female demons that includes Hellen, the bride—a creature of dark magic and darker passion.

Though the safety of his son is foremost, Erion can’t deny his unexpected connection to Hellen—inflaming a manic desire as primal as it is irresistible. As their bond intensifies, they move toward an inevitable and terrifying battle. With time running out, Erion realizes he must not only find and rescue his son but protect Hellen from Cruen and the underworld forces waiting to destroy her for her betrayal.

My Review:
Laura Wright knows how to write a paranormal romance book and I am so glad I found her one day while searching around on Goodreads.  I fell in love with the first Mark of the Vampire book and have not looked back since.  Although, Alexander will always be top first for me, Erion, may have stolen a little piece of my heart due to his fatherly instincts taking over in this book.
He is kind of a jerk at first in Eternal Demon because he ends up kidnapping his father's future bride, Hellen, who happens to be one of the princesses of Hell.  He has good reasons though because he wants his son back that he is trying to be a father too, since he had just found out recently he fathered a son.  His twin brother's mate was taking care of him.
The minute Erion locks Hellen away, his body starts to betray him because he instantly feels a connection.  What he does not realize is that they have more in common then they think.
Even Hellen is confused on what Erion is exactly.  She knows he is a bloodsucker, but not sure what else he is.  She is trying everything to protect her sisters and that is why she is hooking up with the evil Cruen (unfortunately she has no idea who he is really).
Hellen was definitely a strong alpha female, who definitely scared me at times.  She literally ate a character.  You would be freaked out as well...but she definitely kicked butt, and I respected her.  She was trying to protect her sisters from their horrific father, who by the way...I could NOT stand at all.
In the mince of it all, Snyjon is battling his own dilemmas and wants Cruen's blood and the other vampires are trying to find Erion's son.

What I did not like is how Hellen did not find herself beautiful.  It seems her father was a jerk and kept putting in her head she was not.  It took one half-breed telling her how beautiful she was.  I definitely believe Erion stole just a piece of my heart away from Alexander in this story.  Some readers may not consider him such a good person, but he had some good intentions to him.
I definitely am anxious to read the next book since it will be about Synjon.  I need to find out if he gets his true mate after what he has been put through.  Laura leaves me hanging at the end, which makes me want the next book right now.
I love this world of vampires and now other creatures in the mix.  Laura definitely is expanding the world further out.  Now, I know a little bit more of what is going on with Cruen and why he is the way he is.  (what a jerk he is still...and he has even got worst, if that is even possible.)
This book even opened secrets from previous characters that had me in shock.  Oh boy...that definitely left me wondering what is going to happen next.

I give this book 4.5 moons and highly recommend it to paranormal romance readers and fans of Laura Wright.  Here's hoping Laura continues this series for awhile because there is a lot more characters I want to know more about.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from Netgalley via the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and I was not compensated in anyway for this review.
