A Hero's Blog Hop

Welcome to our stop on the Hero's Blog Hop! This hop is being hosted by Carrie Ann Ryan and the theme is for bloggers to tell about their favorite hero's and for authors to talk about their own Heroes from the Heroes POV. And we also have a pretty awesome giveaway so make sure you check it out and fill out our rafflecopter below, and also check out the big prizes too!

Anna
My favorite kind of Hero is the wounded Hero, like in Pamela Clare's Skin Deep. Nate was so intense about everything and I have no idea why but I SO love that! Maybe it's because that intensity isn't only in his attitude but also his actions, like say making love. ;) And oh there's just something about a man that is not only wounded on the outside but wounded on the inside and watching the heroine "patch" him up, it just makes for a great story!
I wish I could tell about all of my favorites but Nate is most definitely #1 for me right now so I'll just leave it at that! :)

Franjessca
My favorite kind of hero is the hero that is in "Let Me In" by Callie Croix, who is always there for the heroine even when she doesn't want his help or is scared on what the hero will think when he finds out what the heroine has gone through and still goes through.
Liam definitely touched my heart from the beginning when he was there for Talia when she thought no one was going to be there for her when she got off the airplane.  She also never expected he would be there for her through everything she was going through with her Mom and everything else.  Liam just wanted her to let him in and he would do anything to make her realize it.
He even had me at the moment when he took control of everything in the bedroom.  *sigh*  He definitely has a piece of my heart forever and so does any hero like him in other books.  =)

Giveaway
Every blog in this hop has it's own giveaway. Ours will be an e-book copy of Skin Deep by Pamela Clare and an e-book copy of  Let Me In by Callie Croix. You must fill out our rafflecopter below to enter for these 2 books.

Review - "Let Me In" by Callie Croix

Let Me In
Publishing Date: 5/21/12
Publisher: Carina Press
Genre: Erotica
Source: Kindle Edition (Bought)

Description:
On leave for Thanksgiving, the last thing marine lieutenant Talia Barnett expects to find is Liam Brodie waiting for her at the airport. He's had a starring role in her fantasies for the past two years, and although she'd love to make them a reality, she has a dark secret that prevents her from taking things further.
A former marine, Liam's specialty is planning tactical operations, and that's just what he plans to do to win Talia. The woman has kept him at arm's length for too long, and this time he's finally going to claim her—body and heart.
What begins as comfort quickly turns hot. When Liam shows Talia a hint of the dominant nature inside him, the submissive part of her flares to life. Though she desires him, she's going back on deployment and doesn't want to dump all her drama on him. Will he find a way to break through the protective walls around her heart and convince her they have a future that goes far beyond the bedroom?

My Review:
"Let Me In" is the second book I've read from the amazing author, Callie Croix.  I didn't even realize "Let Me In" was coming out until I noticed someone mention it on twitter.  I dropped everything and pre-ordered it.  When it finally downloaded on my Kindle, I had to make room to read it.
First off, I want to say, that Callie is my hero.  I love reading books with military men in them, but to read a book that has a female character as a marine...major bonus points to Callie.  (Being a Navy Veteran...I love when Authors write a female character into their book, who is in the military)
Talia is now one of my top female characters that I've read so far this year.  I loved how strong she was and how no matter what, she took care of her Mom even though her Mom didn't really want Talia in her life.  Talia was used to taking care of herself after what happened to her Mom when her ex-boyfriends left her Mom. She hasn't talked to her Mom in a couple of years now and doesn't know what to expect.  Is her Mom still mentally ill and having trouble financially, etc? She'll soon find out and it won't really be a great reunion.
When she comes home on leave, no one is there to meet her at the airport, until she realizes her best friend and her best friend's brother Liam is there to surprise her.
Talia loves Liam's family and secretly is infatuated with him, but she told him a long time ago, she didn't want anything more than friendship.  Liam though has other plans on trying to win over Talia. He knows how Talia doesn't like to be helped, but he forces her to accept his help.  Talia is embarassed when Liam finds out how she grew up and what she is still going through with her Mom.
Talia finally lets go and ends up giving in to Liam one night after a incident with her Mom that Liam witnessed.  Oh...and it was a good night for her.  =)
Let's just say, Liam is one sexy, domineering man who loves pleasing.
That one time though, makes Talia realize she doesn't want to go any further and she tries to push him away.  Liam of course is getting frustrated with her. He won't push her though because he doesn't want to lose her trust.
I won't go any further because I do not want to spoil anything for the readers who are planning on reading this.
This book was amazing.  I would've read it in one day if it wasn't for sleep deprivation.  Sometimes being a Mommy can be rough, so sleep wins over reading.  (notice the sometimes)
I fell in love with Liam.  *sigh*  He is every girl's dream come true.  He was there to help Talia through a rough time in her life and he didn't judge her.  He loved her and he wanted to be more than friends with her.  He cared so much about her and Talia didn't even realize it.
Talia was a strong character too.  She went through so much and still managed to pull through everything.  She just needed to realize she had friends there who wanted to help her along the way no matter what.
I recommend this book to any reader who loves reading erotica, loves strong heroines and heroes, and also loves the dominant man in the bed.  (Liam will be on your mind for days after your read this book...at least he was for me)  =)
Look forward to reading more books from Callie Croix soon.
I also will be reading books from her other pen name, Kaylea Cross, too.
If you haven't added this book to your to-read list, what are you waiting for.  It's only $0.99.

Review - "Touch Me" by Callie Croix

Touch Me
Author: Callie Croix
Publisher: Carina Press
Release Date: 1/2/12
Genre: Erotica
Source: NetGalley

Description
Tia just wants a fresh new start in life. She’s just divorced from a mentally abusive husband who belittled her for her own wants and desires.Staying in Alex’s house has helped but when he returns home on leave from the Army she decides she’s over stayed her welcome. It has nothing to do with the fact that she wants Alex and knows she can’t have him because he thinks of her as a sister.

Alex is home to recover from a wound and it’s kind of nice having Tia in his home. He’s always wanted her but could never act on it because she’s his best friends little sister and for a long time was already taken. But now she’s single and he still wants her. But will she want what he wants or will it be too much for her?

My Review
This was a great quick read! It was well written, I loved the characters and although it was short it didn’t really feel short at all like most novellas do. Tia was a great female lead character. She was strong even though she had been beaten down by the ex and when it came down to it she opened up and got what she wanted. And I really liked Alex. What a sweetie and yet still very masculine and dominating. I love that they both always wanted each other but never knew. The ex husband made me mad but there’s no wonder to that, he was a mega jerk. I do not like men who treat women like that at all, I don’t care what kind of brain injury he had. Over all, great read. I give it 4 stars.

Review - "Touch Me" by Callie Croix

Touch Me
Publishing Date: 1/2/12
Publisher: Carina Press
Source: Netgalley
Genre: Erotica

Description:
Arriving home on leave from his tour of duty, Army Captain Alex Montoya knows there's a beautiful woman waiting for him-his best friend's sister. She's always been off limits...until now. He fully intends to move them out of being "just friends" and encourage her to release the sexual needs he senses she's buried deep.
Tianna McIntyre is starting over after her marriage ended. Her ex-husband weakened her self-esteem and caused her to deny her true sexual desires. But being around Alex brings all her dormant fantasies to the surface, and now Tianna feels the stirrings of her secret, submissive wishes.
Determined to help repair the damage Tianna's ex did to her self-worth, Alex will use whatever means necessary to convince her they're meant for each other, including tying her down to make sure he has her full attention while he takes her to the heights of pleasure she's always dreamed of..

My Review :
I love reading books that have some terrific endings to them and also has a lesson learned to it.  The character Tia, is going through a divorce with her husband, David (who by the way I want to go into the book and punch him)  What a friggin' jerk.  I can't stand man that belittles a woman's self esteem.  Tia just wants a fresh start to a new life and she wants to forget her ex-husband (but he makes it difficult for her).  She has been living at Alex's house while he was on tour of duty.  He is sent home after being injured.  He wants to do everything in his power to make Tia realize how much he cares about her.  He wants to help her through her ordeals.  Alex is definitely a REAL Man in my eyes.
I love how the Author goes back and forth into Tia and Alex's heads.  We found out exactly what Alex and Tia wants.  Alex brings out out Tia's fantasies of being submissive.  Something her ex never understood or even liked.  Once Tia realizes what Alex's intentions are with her, she finally realizes there are Men out there that care about a Woman's feelings.  The best part was the ending of the book, where she gets over her fears with her Ex and moves on finally.  It took awhile for it to lead up to that, and sometimes I was a little upset with Tia's character.  How she wanted to push even Alex out of her life to save him.  How come she didn't realize in the beginning this Man loved her, I just didn't get it. He even tried to tell her in the beginning, but she was clueless.
I recommend this read for anyone who loves a happy ending and wants to learn what some Women actually go through.  Alex caters to Tia's feelings and loves her for what she fantasizes.  Some Men don't understand that.  Sometimes you have to let the Woman decide what she wants...believe me, not all Women like to be the dominated kind...they prefer to be submissive.
I look forward to reading more books from Callie Croix soon.  I also thoroughly enjoyed this book because it takes you into a world of actual circumstances that could happen when someone returns from War and such.
