Review
I'm a big fan of Katie Reus so when I found out about her alter ego Savannah Stuart I knew I would love her writing and I was so right! This story was a fantastic summer read! It's quick and sexy and has some nice plot twists to it to make a good story.
I loved the two main characters! Lauren the jaguar shifter and Max the wolf shifter. They don't seem like they'd fit together but they so do! The sexual tension between the two is thick and it gets pretty hot once she finally gives in. I liked the other characters too. Lots of potential for more books....I hope.
I very much enjoyed reading this one and it only took me a few hours to read so it's a great one night read. If you are a fan of Katie Reus, you'll wanna check these books out! They're classic Katie but a little bit steamier! Trust me, you'll love them. And if you haven't read Savannah/Katie's books yet, now is the time to. You'll become hopelessly addicted just like me. :)

I LOVE Katie Reus's romantic suspense so when I saw this start to a new series I totally freaked out! I am SO excited and I LOVE this cover! I have shared this photo during the day that Gena Showalter did a cover reveal on her FB page...but I had to share it again for Cover Lust. I really love the color of this cover and the design of it. This series is a little different from the Alien Huntress series and I am a little disappointed that the Alien Huntress series was left hanging...but I do like this series.
I look forward to Corbin Blue's book. He fascinated me from the Last Kiss Goodnight...and I'm really intrigued to find out who his heroine will be like. =)

Review
Another hit for Katie's Red Stone Security series!!! I've loved this series since the first book, with each book I fall more and more in love with these characters and lives that Katie sucks me into but this one for sure is a favorite! I LOVE that even though in this book there is a strong capable hero but in it's the heroine who is the main protector! I thought the men of Red Stone Security were hot, but DAMN!!!
Iris and Wyatt aren't your typical couple. They've known each other for most of their lives but only recently decided they should be together and even though they are married things are pretty shaky between them because Iris feels she isn't what Wyatt wants her to be and Wyatt just wants her with him but made the mistake of assuming she would change after they were married.
I liked the dynamics between Iris and Wyatt. Both are strong characters, can take care of themselves but they make themselves vulnerable to each other. It's really sweet! I couldn't help but love them together! It was nice to get little glimpses of past characters but I wish there had been more. I miss the other characters! LOL Loved Jay and Ellie! And I can't wait to see who the next book is about!
Overall I loved this book! It's a typical Red Stone Security story, packed with action, suspense and some really hot lovin'! As usual the writing is great, it pulls you in and makes it hard to put the book down. I didn't put it down at all actually, I read it all in one sitting! I definitely recommend this one to all Romantic Suspense fans and it's not necessary to read the other books in this series but you totally should because they are just as good as this one and some ever better!!!

My Review:
"Mating Instinct", the third book the Moon Shifter series has become my FAVE out of the series so far. I had a hard time putting down this book. (I seriously gave my hubby the evil eye whenever he interrupted me while I was reading this book....Needless to say, he learned his lesson) =)
( First off, I highly recommend you read this series in order. Katie continues each book where it is left off at, but with different characters. )
Kat Saburova is adjusting to her new life as a shifter, and she's trying to get over what happened to her in "Primal Possession", but she's having a difficult time. She's realizing being a shifter requires following pack laws, but it is going to take time to learn them all. She also needs someone to teach her the pack laws. In the mean time though, she has Jayce Kazan to worry about. He was her past love and now he is making it known he wants back in her life. Kat is not making it easy for him. He is trying to make amends with her and let her know what happened in the past and why he lied to her about the bond...but Kat is being more than difficult.
Jayce Kazan is one of the enforcers to the shifters and he is town on official business, as well as taking care of Kat...or at least trying to. He is going to step up and teach her how being shifter is like and take care of her training.
Kat has her goals set on vengeance against the APL and she'll do everything in her power on making that vengeance come true without the pack. Unfortunately, the APL has their own plans.
In fact someone is putting the blame on shifters on recent killings in the town, but none of Conner's pack has any involvement in it. Jayce is trying to figure out another matter, but he is also going to find out who is actually putting the bad spotlight on the shifters as well.
"Mating Instinct" is a ride full of sexual tension, suspense, and emotions that will make you keep turning the page. You'll fall in love with these shifters and will be determined to get rid of the APL just like they are.
Kat and Jayce have to be my fave couple out of this series so far. I clicked with Kat because even after everything she went through in the second book, she has proven she is a strong female character and she is not to be messed with. She's stubborn at times and a little reckless, but she is such an amazing match for Jayce.
Jayce is strong willed as well and very determined to prove to Kat, he loves her. It just takes him an awful darn long time to say it to her and prove it. Have I mentioned he's powerful, scary, and sexy? Oh I haven't...well now you know what I friggin' love him. =)
This book even made me hungry while reading it. I was craving chocolate while reading certain scenes. =) (*evil smile*)
Let's just say Jayce's scent that Kat is smelling every time he gets worked up.....is what I'm referring to. (*another evil smile*)
I love how Katie continues each book where it was left off at, but of course with different characters to continue the story. She does continue the story of previous characters into each book so you know what the characters are up to. Connor plays a major role in this book and Liam shows up as well, who were the lead male characters from the other books. I love me some Liam and Connor....but for some reason Jayce stole my heart more after reading "Mating Instinct". Maybe it was the chocolate...or maybe it was because he came back to Kat.
If you have read the first two books in the series, you'll definitely enjoy this installment. If you haven't read this series yet, what are you waiting for? Add it to your TBR to read later or get it when it comes out and start reading.
I am really curious on what is going to happen next, especially when it comes to the APL. Will they ever find out who is really running the show...and what about certain characters that I want to find out more about.

1. Tell us 5 things about yourself that
we would not be able to find on the web.
KR: I lived on a boat one summer in The
Keys many years ago (when I was still in college), I hate flying over bodies of
water, I’m not a fan of public speaking, I met my husband when I was working as
a bartender, and my dream vacation is to Scotland.
2. What does a typical writing day
look for you?
KR: With a young son I don’t have
completely ‘typical’ days anymore, but I try to wake up early and get in a
couple hours of writing before he’s up. If I’m lucky I can get in my entire
word count in the morning. Then anything else is just icing on the cake. If
not, I work during his naptime or at night once my husband can help out. Heh,
or I hole up like a fiend on weekends when my MIL watches my son and cram in a
week’s worth of writing in two days. Basically, when I’m working on a project,
I give myself a specific word count I need to meet that day and make it happen.
3. Tell us a little bit about Mating
Instinct and why readers should check it out?
KR: Mating Instinct is full of danger,
action, romance and sexual tension. Oh, the sexual tension! Kat and Jayce have
a rough history and unlike the first two heroes in this series, he doesn’t even
try to feign civility. He’s five hundred years old and this human woman just
knocked him on his ass and by the time Mating Instinct releases, he’s not even
trying to fight his need for her anymore. Unfortunately for him, she is.

4. How many more books are planned in
the Moon shifter series?
KR: As of right now, after Mating
Instinct, there will be two more books and one novella in the series. It’s
possible the contract could extend, but I just don’t know at this point.
5. If you could be one of your
characters from the Moon shifter series, who would you be and why?
KR: Ack, this is hard! Hmm, I should
probably pick someone totally kickass like Kat or Erin but…I adore Esperanze
(the heroine in Lover’s Instinct, novella 1.5). She’s a beta, which in the Moon
Shifter world means physically weaker, but she’s a teacher, loves reading and
education and she’s mated to a seriously hot alpha wolf who worships her. I
don’t know if that’s who I would want to be, but that’s who I’m most like, lol.
6. What has been the easiest and hardest
scene to write in the series so far?
KR: Fighting scenes come more naturally
to me. I envision them in my mind, like a movie playing out and sometimes I
can’t write them fast enough. Some of the really emotional scenes, especially
between Kat and Jayce were hard to write. Making sure all the emotion they’re
feeling is conveyed on the pages was sometimes a struggle. While I know what
they’re thinking, I need to make sure the reader does too.
7. Why inspired you to write the series?
(Did you have love for the wolf shifters....because I know I do...and I
am addicted to your wolf shifters...*sigh*)
KR: I’m totally in love with shifters! I
discovered paranormal romance because of Sherrilyn Kenyon, then after her I
discovered JR Ward and fell in love with all these smoking hot
vampires/DarkHunters, etc…but I desperately wanted some hot shifters. Since
then I’ve actually discovered some great shifter series but up until that point
I’d only read vampires (yes, I apparently lived in a cave, lol) and just really
wanted some hot shifter stories. Writing about men and women who aren’t afraid
to tap into their animal instinct is awesome.
8. Who does the covers to the series?
KR: Katie Anderson (and she’s uber
talented!)
9. What is up next for Katie Reus?
KR: This year I’ve got two to three more
Red Stone books planned to release and in October the first book in my new
romantic suspense series will be launching from Signet! The title of the first is
Targeted and I’m very excited about it. And there’s a possibility of something
else releasing that I can’t talk about just yet.
10. Do you have anything specific
you want to say to your readers?
KR: Thank you for being awesome! Over
the course of 2012 my reader base has seriously grown and I can’t tell you how
awesome it is to interact with so many amazing people online.

11. If you could have dinner with
one famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
KR: I’m always an epic fail with this
question. I could give you a really clichéd answer like Anne Frank (though
talking to her would be amazing), but for the mood I’m in now, I’m gonna say
Chesty Puller. He was a general when he retired from the Marines and he’s
pretty much a badass. He was the only Marine to be awarded 5 Navy Crosses…which
is insane! The man was a tactical genius.
12. I noticed on your FB page as
well as Kaylea Cross's FB page, that you went to visit her...what kind of
adventures did you do together? =) (She is another one of my FAVE
authors...which I cannot get enough of)
KR: I adore her! She’s one of my best
friends and I feel so lucky to have her in my life. I got to see White Rock,
which was pretty cool since Psych is filmed there (I love that show), we had an
amazing spa day for her birthday, I got to visit Vancouver and really, just
getting to hang out with her for four straight days was awesome. I got to meet
almost all of her family and some of her friends and they are a fun bunch! Ha,
we visited Starbucks a lot ;)
