Review - "Beauty in the Beast" by Christine Danse

Beauty in the Beast
Author: Christine Danse
Publisher:  Carina Press
Release Date: 3/5/12
Genre: Romance
Source: NetGalley

Description
Traveling to London by steam powered sled to perform at the Frost Fair, Tara and her friends get stuck in a bad blizzard. When they find a house in the woods they ask the mysterious gruffy man, Rolph, if he’ll give them shelter for the night. To repay him they each tell him a story, which is part of their performance and Rolph decides to join in with a story of his own. His is a story of a man who turns into a wolf. After getting to know Rolph better, Tara starts to wonder if there might be some truth to his story.

When the veil between the mortal  and the spiritual realms part and danger follows, Tara will have to decide if she wishes to remain as she is or will she make the ultimate sacrifice to save Rolphs life?

My Review
This book frustrated me to no end! The characters were well built, as was the setting but that’s where it ends. The majority of the book was the characters telling their own stories, which I hate to say, were very boring and too long. I even found myself scanning through the stories because I didn't like them. The two main characters, Tara and Rolph, barely got any focus. I would have loved to get more background on both Tara and Rolph and way more dialog between the two.

It was an ok book but it was seriously lacking where the main story is concerned. I really enjoyed the concept of the book too but again it just didn’t do it for me. Over all this was a decent book that was way too short and didn't have enough to keep me interested the whole time.
