Eden Summer's "Blind Attraction" Blog Tour (Interview) + Giveaway
1. Tell us three things about yourself that readers may not know about you.
- I can’t drive a manual car…well I can, but I bunny hop.
- I never enjoy school, but now I love learning.
- My favorite show is Scandal.
2. What does a typical writing day look for you?
The kids usually wake me up anywhere from 6-6:30am. I get them ready for school, drop them off and get home by around 9am. I go through emails, check social media and reply to what I can, then I start writing. I live by targets, so the entire day is usually filled with goals I have to achieve. Write 500 words to get my first coffee. Write another 500 to check social media. Write another to be allowed a toilet break. Lol. I tend to skip meals unless my hubby is home to feed me. Then at around 2:30pm I start to get ready to pick up the kiddies. I don’t enjoy writing at night. I’m too tired, so during the days I have to hit my targets.
3. Tell us a little bit about Blind Attraction and why readers should check it out?
Blind Attraction is the first book in my Reckless Beat rock star series. It’s the story of Mitchell Davies, lead guitarist and Alana Shelton, sheltered stranger. Why should readers check it out? If you love your romance seductively sexy and your men sarcastic and protective, I think you will enjoy Blind Attraction.
4. What kind of qualities does Mitchell have that make him irresistible?
Being a world-famous musician, he has a sexy amount of confidence…funnily enough, because he’s dead sexy. The personality traits that I find most endearing are his protective nature and his sarcastic come-backs. I’m a sucker for quick wit.
5. Why do you think readers are falling head over heels for Blake? ( I know I fell for him...he is such a sweetie)
Everyone seems to be on team Blake. I think he was a big hit in Blind Attraction because you don’t get to see his issues, you just get to see his humor. He’s definitely a funny guy and enjoys being a smart ass. He’s also the tattooed, bad boy…which means totally swoon-worth.
6. What was the easiest and hardest scene to write in Blind Attraction? (without giving too much away)
The easiest by far is the dialogue between the members of Reckless Beat. They crack me up and I find them very easy to write. The hardest is probably the sex scenes and making sure every movement flows into the next. I spend the most time on the heated scenes.
7. How many books do you have planned for the Reckless Beat novels?
So far I have five planned out — one for each member of Reckless Beat. By who knows, I may add in some more.
8. How did you come up with the band name, Reckless Beat?
Argh. That was hard. I spent a lot of time with the thesaurus, looking up a heap of different words that sounded sexy, yet band orientated. I actually started calling them something else but it didn’t sit right with me. No matter how many people said they preferred the other name. I had to go with my gut and I still may use the other name in the future with another series.
9. What inspired you to write Blind Attraction (Reckless novels)?
Music. I’ve mentioned in a lot of posts on this blog tour that Daughtry’s music gave me a lot of inspiration for this series. I love their songs and can’t get enough of their heartfelt lyrics.
10. What is up next for Eden Summers and do you have anything specific you want to say to your readers?
Next I will be releasing a contemporary erotic novella called Ravenous with Escape Publishing – a division of Harlequin Australia. That is due out on the 1st of August. In the meantime I’m writing the second book in the Reckless Beat series and can’t wait to have it finished.

by: Parker Kincade
Publishing Date: 5/18/13
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Description:
For baseball superstar Garrett Donovan, his contract with the New York Empire baseball team meant he’d finally have the means to secure a future for his family. He should focus on that…not on the sassy, beautiful Jessa Montgomery — or what she looks like naked. Getting involved with the daughter of the Empire’s owner would be career suicide. Jessa is a distraction he can’t afford.
Her father had warned her never to get involved with his athletes, so his request that she keep an eye on his new star player came straight out of left field. The last thing Jessa needs is another spoiled, egotistical ball player to deal with. But Garrett is none of those things. His no-nonsense attitude and smooth Southern charm make her blood burn and her knees weak. Giving into temptation, she is consumed by the pleasure she finds in Garrett’s arms.
Jessa wants to protect his career. Garrett won’t let anything get in the way of their passion.
A passion that could cost him everything.

Description:
The Civil War has torn Brianna Taylor’s family apart and made her a widow. Determined to ease the suffering of the wounded crowding the Union hospitals and honor the memory of the man she loved, she embarks on a career as a nurse. But then he arrives—a patient who makes her feel alive again in spite of her resolve to stay detached.
Captain Justin Thompson understands the cost of war all too well, yet he felt compelled to fight for the Union his father died defending. Wounded at Cold Harbor and left to die at a military hospital, he owes his life to Brianna, who seems determined to guard her professional boundaries despite his best efforts to breach them. Just as he’s winning the battle for her heart, he’s forced to return to the front of a cruel war that could very well separate them forever.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
She shook her head, not wanting to cause a fuss. Besides, the best medicine for her right now was being with him. He’d been right about her not wanting to admit her feelings, but it was a difficult thing to confess. It hurt to feel this much again and know she was about to lose him. Of their own volition, her fingers slipped up to his cheek and swept a lock of hair from his temple, her need to touch him overpowering everything else.
He stilled at the contact, concern and growing heat battling in his eyes.
Something about the quiet way he watched her allowed her to keep talking. “I’m so tired of this war,” she admitted in a whisper. “I hate all the butchering and the suffering and the death…I’m so tired of it all.” He was a soldier. He must understand what she meant.
He hesitated a moment then lifted his hand and stroked a thumb across her cheek. The tenderness of the gesture zinged through her like lightning, speared her heart. In a different time and place, she might have leaned forward into that touch and kissed him.
Instead she stared at their joined hands resting on his chest. “I became a nurse to care for our soldiers, but instead I help patch them up so they can charge right back into battle.” Like you will when you recover. Regardless of her efforts to stay calm, her eyes stung. “So they can go and get shot to pieces all over again. I hate it…” Her voice caught, throat too tight to continue. The prospect of him returning to the battlefield terrified her, even more than watching him leave here when he was strong enough.
“Brianna.”
“What?” She drew a steadying breath.
He cupped her cheek in one large hand, eyes intent on hers. “I wish I could get out of this bed and hold you, but I can’t, so you'll have to come here.”
The air whooshed out of her lungs. She wanted that so badly she almost whimpered. Yet she didn’t dare give in.
Those deep blue eyes never wavered from hers as he eased his hand around to cradle her nape and tugged gently. “Come here,” he repeated in a low voice.
She sat paralyzed, fighting the compassion in his eyes, the longing his touch stirred within her. Her skin tingled all over. She held her breath as he cupped her jaw and trailed a thumb over her lips. His touch burned her.
Before she could protest, he made the decision for her and pulled her close with the hand on the back of her neck. She sucked in a breath and made a last-ditch effort to resist, but it was futile. She could hear his soft breathing and feel the heat of his skin, the rapid thrum of her blood as it rushed through her body.
Undeterred by her hesitation, he determinedly brought her closer and angled his face until his cheek grazed hers. His breath fanned her temple. Goose bumps raced over her body. Patient fingers moved through the back of her hair and around her neck to her jaw, up the sides of her face. With agonizing slowness he caressed her skin with his fingertips, nuzzled her hairline.
Hunger roared through her in a blast of need. Her lashes fluttered against his cheek like the beat of a trapped butterfly’s wings. Pressing her closer, he touched his lips to her eyelid, light as a sigh. She grabbed his hard shoulders and stiffened, but he didn’t release her. Her entire body hummed with awareness as his gossamer kisses moved across her cheek, slowly enough to make her tremble.
Brianna grasped fistfuls of his shirt to keep from taking his face in her hands. She wanted to turn her head and kiss him back. Wanted it until her heart slammed against her ribs.
“Closer,” he urged in a whisper. “Lay your head on me.”
She trembled, part fever, part longing. “I can’t. If someone sees—”
His grip on her nape tightened a fraction. The coolness of his hand felt so good against her hot skin. “I won’t let that happen.”
The protective tone melted her. She was aching for him. Weak.
That gentle grip turned firm, commanding. “
Angel, don’t fight me. Let me hold you.” His voice was a velvet whisper at her ear. Angel. His tenderness broke her heart. She didn’t want to fight it anymore. This time when he guided her head down to his shoulder, she went willingly, careful to stay away from his bandaged side so she wouldn’t hurt him. A soft groan of relief came from his throat, as though he’d wanted this as much as she had. His heavy arms encircled her, cradled her against the warmth of his body. He was strong and solid, even better than she’d imagined. The scent of soap and musk filled her nose, wrapping around her in another layer of comfort. She closed her eyes as he began to stroke a hand through her hair and a shudder rippled through her. Sweet God, she'd needed this.
