Review - "Mark of the Bear" by N.J. Walters

Mark of the Bear
(Hades’ Carnival #2)
Author:  N.J. Walters
Publisher:  Samhain Publishing
Release Date: 4/16/13
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Source: Bought (Samhain)

Description
When the devil wants a deal, there's no bowing out gracefully.

At twenty-nine, Hollywood scream queen Kellsie Morris is acutely aware the clock is ticking on her career. Luckily, the one big role she needs to pad her retirement fund has just come through-the story of an immortal, shape-shifting warrior trapped in a carnival run by the Devil's minions.

When Kellsie arrives on set, she can't resist climbing aboard an amazingly realistic carousel bear-and finds herself flung into a world where the horror is real. As real as the heat radiating off the half-naked hunk in her arms.

Marko has waited an eternity for the chance to free his goddess, the Lady of the Beasts, and his fellow warriors from an ancient curse. But once he lays eyes on Kellsie, he knows to the bottom of his soul that his purpose is to protect her life.

But in this hellish game, it's the Devil's move. And there's no predicting when and where the final, brutal stroke will fall-and which lover will pay the ultimate price.

Warning: This book contains a heroine who's a screamer-in and out of bed-and a warrior who gives a whole new meaning to "method." After reading, please use caution when standing up. Your knees may be weak.

Review
NJ, seriously!?! It had to end like that? :( I am so dying for the next book to be out now!!! This was another great read! This series is quickly turning into a favorite for me. It's unique and interesting. The story just sucks you right in and if you’re like I was, you won’t come back out until you’ve read the very last page.

Once again I LOVED the two main characters! There’s always something really special about NJ’s characters that instantly makes me fall in love with them and I think Kelsie may be my very favorite heroine of hers. I mean, she’s the freaking scream queen! Very cool! But then again I’m a horror movie nut, so she’s extra interesting to me. And Marko, well let’s just say there is something VERY appealing about a big cuddly bear that turns into and equally big hunky guy! Best of both if you ask me! ;)

I really like the other characters too! It was nice to get to see Aimee and Roric again. I can't wait to see who is next and I'm kind of more excited about who the next heroine will be. I mean a graphic novelist and the scream queen? These hunky shifters know how to pick 'em! ;)

If you enjoy a fast paced romance with hunky shifters, kick ass heroines and creepy but entertaining villains, this series is for you! You don’t necessarily need to read these in order but I recommend it because you’ll get the full story having read both! I’m looking forward to the next book in this series and pretty much anything else NJ decides to write because her books are always fantastic!

Description
Aimee Horner lives and breathes her career as a graphic novel illustrator, but she never expected it would invade her dreams. In recent months, worsening nightmares have pulled her into the darkest corners of Hell.

On a rare night out with friends at a traveling carnival, she finds herself strangely drawn to an abandoned carousel adorned with vividly exotic animals. One steed, a massive white tiger, is a temptation she can’t resist. The moment she climbs upon him, her world changes forever.

More than five thousand years ago, Roric and his fellow shapeshifting warriors were imprisoned in their animal forms, a last-ditch effort by the goddess they served to save them from the horrors of Hell.

With one special woman’s touch, he has a chance at freedom and redemption—but the clock is ticking. If he is still alive in twenty-four hours, the spell will be broken, and Hell will have no claim on his soul. The only hitch is his blazing attraction to Aimee. If only he could trust that she isn’t merely a distraction sent by Hades—luscious bait to lure him from his mission.

Review
I absolutely loved this book! I knew before reading it that I would enjoy it but I had no idea how much I until I finally got to read it! I’ve been a fan of this author for a while now and I really enjoy all that I’ve read but this is most definitely my favorite!!! The concept is very interesting; I love the whole idea of these immortal shape-shifters who were made by a goddess, only to be imprisoned because of Hades wanting to use them in his fight for power. I love books with aspects of Greek mythology and I have to say, this is one of my favorites ever! Oh and the crazy carnival theme, with the demons being the ones who are running it, that was pretty creepy! Everything about it is pretty much awesome!!!

Aimee, the heroine in this story, is a graphic novel illustrator and a loner so she rarely leaves her house. You’ll find out more about why she’s a loner when you read the book. Roric, the hero, is an ancient shape shifting warrior who has been imprisoned in his Tiger shape, between dimensions and unable to actually be a part of the world but was able to see time pass the whole time. These two characters fit so well together! Who better to be with a beautiful tiger shape shifter than someone who can and has drawn him in all of his magnificence? Aimee is one of my favorite heroines ever! The girl is 100% Bad Ass! There is one particular part, the first big fight scene actually, when she really kicks butt! I literally yelled out loud (my husband thought I lost my mind) because it was that cool! J And Roric, oh man! If I had to choose one favorite Paranormal creature/character type that is my very favorite, I would pick tiger shifters! There’s just something about the idea of a big beautiful cat turning into a big beautiful man!!! And Roric is definitely that! ;)

This was a fantastic read! The story was great, very well written, and the characters are some of her best! I loved her descriptions, of the demons and Hades, of The Lady of the Beasts and the shifters, even Aimee's art work, it really pulls you into the story and helps you see what the characters are seeing and feel what the characters are feeling! I can not wait for the next book in this series, I’m so looking forward to seeing where the author takes these wonderful characters! If you love paranormal romance, read this book! I kid you not, you will LOVE it!!!

Book Description:
Dragons annihilated civilization some ten generations ago. A few Crossbreeds, humans born with dragon-like characteristics, now lead opposing tribes who still battle for dwindling resources.

Rhone’s wings have been stripped from his body, his family killed, and his hopes of leading the Mountain people away from the constant threat of marauders destroyed.

Ketta’s life has been full of pain and anguish. Her brother rules her and the Lax tribe with a bloody fist. Tired of the violence, Ketta takes a stand and rescues Rhone from the brink of execution.

Armed with knowledge from Ketta’s somewhat addled grandfather, the unlikely pair embarks on a quest to heal Rhone’s wings. Along the way, the couple struggles to find the truth beneath hatred and lies. Desire and a mutual enemy bring them together; mistrust and secrets tear them apart. These lifelong foes will have to fly high above their differences to defeat a deadly dragon and save what’s left of both their tribes.

My Review
I absolutely love the whole idea of this story! That the end of days is brought about by dragons and from that, Crossbreeds are made when the humans come into contact with something left behind by the dragons. It's not something I've read before and I'm happy to say that I enjoyed it quite a bit. I've read a few other books by this author so I knew it would be good but I didn't know how good until I started reading it. :)

For a first book in a series and a short one at that, it's written very well. There isn't too much information thrown at you but you still get the needed facts about their history and the world building is done very well. I loved the characters, especially Arwin, the grandfather. He was definitely a fun character. Ketta and Rhone were good characters too though I did feel that their relationship was a little too rushed for my taste with everything that they went through and the whole rivals thing made it too fast too. But it didn't make the story any less enjoyable, just a bit unbelievable.

Overall, this is a fun, refreshing and very enjoyable read! It has enough action and adventure to keep you turning the pages and great characters and dialogue that pull you right into the book. I will definitely keep up with the series, can't wait to see where she takes it, and I recommend this book to all of my PNR fan friends. It's one of those you really don't want to miss!!!

*I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I did not receive any compensation from anyone to read this book.*

Blog Tour: "Ready & Willing" by Selena Blake

Ready & Willing

Description
Ava Garnier wants her father’s spot when he retires as Pack Alpha. She may be the middle child but she has what it takes to lead. The only thing standing in her way is Kaden Black, Pack Beta and her long time crush.

Only, she’s not crushing on him anymore. Not since he made it known that he isn’t going let her take over the pack. Neither werewolf will budge, tensions are running high, and they’re both trying to outdo each other.

But the Pack Alpha has already chosen the future path of the pack. And neither Ava or Kaden has a clue to how far they will have go to see their dream come true.

Excerpt:

Ava carefully tucked her hand into the crook of his arm, just as they’d practiced the evening before. Only this time she had a smile on her face that made his gut tighten.
It was a show, he was certain of it. His sixth sense could feel the tension radiating through her. She grinned at her parents, made eye contact with a few of the people in the crowd, but she held herself rigid. And her hand barely touched his arm.
Was she still upset because he was determined to take her father’s place?
He’d thought her anger would have diminished by now, but this was just a new facet of her that he needed to learn. It also meant he had to keep his cool…while making her lose hers.
Kaden was ready to be Alpha. He’d been doing battle all his life to become beta of the pack. He’d proven that he was strong, smart, capable, ready and willing to defend the pack. He knew all the pack laws and all the pack members. Yes, his resume was looking stellar.
“You’re not going to be Alpha,” the woman at his side said through her faux smile.
It was almost like she could read his mind. He wished for a moment that he could read hers.
Instead, he ducked his head closer, catching her subtle honey-vanilla fragrance. “I’d say it’s a done deal, sweetheart.”
Those warm brown eyes flashed up at him with flecks of golden fire. Why had he never noticed their exquisite color before? They were like cinnamon and amber. “The deal is hardly done. Why would my father hand over the leadership of the pack to an outsider?”
The last word hung in the air between them. Kaden didn’t feel like an outsider. He hadn’t for a long time. WhitePaw was his home. He had friends, a nice house, and a good job in the city. And he was Beta of the pack, a position he took seriously.
“Especially since he has offspring reading and willing to do the job.”
With the processional gathering in the lobby of the church, the photographer began organizing people for the photos. Kaden quickly steered Ava into a nearby room.
“What—“
He cut off her words. “Ready and willing, huh?”
Ava stared up at the insanely handsome werewolf as her stomach fluttered like a wounded butterfly. Her reaction to him was nothing new. But the intensity of it was.
How did he manage to make three little words sound so naughty? And why couldn’t she seem to remember that he was the enemy?
She couldn’t, wouldn’t, tell him just how ready and willing she was when it came to him. How she’d fantasized about kissing him more often than was decent. Or how she daydreamed of running her fingers through his sexy almost-shoulder-length-but-not-quite golden, brown hair.
No. She could never tell him those things…at least not until she’d secured her spot as Alpha.
“I come from a long line of WhitePaw leaders—“
“What about your brother?”
“Gregory? What about him?”
“You don’t think he’d be interested in the top spot? He is male, after all.”
“That’s irrelevant,” she said as her temper spiked. “I need to get back to the wedding.” Flustered, she ducked around him. Two steps away from the door, he caught her by the arm and turned her back toward him. Why did those warm, strong fingers on her arm have to feel so good? Inside she whimpered at the delicious touch, brief as it was. And why couldn’t she stop herself from thinking about those same warm, strong fingers sliding up her arm to cup  her head and run through her hair, knocking the bobby pens aside…
“I think it’s entirely relevant,” he murmured.
“Gregory doesn’t want to lead. Besides, I’m older. And I have more experience.”
“You really think Phillip is going to name someone Alpha who’s experience is organizing parties and Pack meetings?”
Her hand arced through the air before the last word had left his lips. Pride bruised and anger simmering, she saw red. Wanted blood. His blood. But his reflexes were faster and he caught her hand before it connected with his cheek.
Before she could react, he’d backed her up until her back was flat against the door. His big body crowded her, pinned her there as he stared down at her like a wolf who’d just spotted his dinner. With his hand tight around her wrist, holding it beside her head against the polished wood, a mild panic crept through her. She brought her other hand up to push against the solid wall of his chest, needing to get away from him, but he easily caught that one too.

Review
I've been a fan of Selena's for a while now. I love her Stormy Weather series so I knew before I started this one that I would enjoy it. Selena's shifters are fun, entertaining, full of drama and a breath of fresh air after reading so many shifter books that seem to be very similar. The story and characters are well written and pull you right into the book. I really enjoy the way she writes the dialogue between characters, it gives so much insight to each character and helps really bring the story together.

The dynamics between Ava and Kaden were really something. I love reluctant female characters and Ava was definitely reluctant. The whole thing with who will be the next Alpha made it very entertaining at times. And the sexual tension was thick between those two, they really burned up the pages! The secondary characters were fun too. I liked her father, the current alpha. He's a very sneaky man with a plan. LOL But in the end it all came together and everyone was happy!

If you love shifters and erotica then you will love this book. It's a fun quick read with lots of funs characters and a story that will make you laugh and melt at the same time. I really enjoyed reading this one and I look forward to reading even more of Selena's work in the future.

Description
Owen Wright, alpha of his wolf pack, hasn’t seen jaguar shifter Gabriela Segura in nearly ten years. She was his first love—until he did something to drive her away just as their relationship was heating up. Now Gabriela has returned to Montana, and his craving for her is stronger than ever….

But a recent string of brutal attacks on humans have the wolves suspicious of the jaguars, threatening the tenuous peace between the packs. Before he can claim Gabriela as his mate, they must join forces to prove her family’s innocence and track down the true predator.

Review
I loved this novella! It’s a fun quick read with great characters and some hot action, as in the sexy kind and the danger kind! As usual with books written by Katie Reus, this one was well written with an entertaining plot and likable characters. Even though it’s a short read, only about 7 chapters, it’s not lacking in character development or plot development.

It starts off with Gabriela coming home after years of being away and it’s immediately known that she does NOT want to see Owen, who was her best friend and first love, because he apparently broke her heart. Unfortunately Owen’s not so smart little brother runs into her and starts a chain of events that brings her and Owen together to solve the horrible Jaguar attacks in the area, that Owen’s wolf pack believes Gabriela’s Jaguar shifter family are guilty of.

Owen and Gabriela come together in the sexiest way. Their chemistry is sizzling and that makes for some really sexy love scenes that had me more than a little hot and bothered. Owen alone was pretty hot! ;) He’s the sweetest kind of alpha male there is, and he loves Gabriela fiercely! And Gabriela was a great heroine. She was destroyed by Owen’s betrayal but instead of dwelling on that the whole entire time she opened herself up to him and essentially let herself be won over by the big wolf.

This really was a fantastic read and exactly what I needed to get me through a hectic night at home with my screaming children and my not-so-helpful husband. It sucked me right into the story and kept me engrossed the whole time! If you enjoy a good shifter romance, this book is definitely for you! I guarantee you’ll love this story! :)

Side Note: LOVE the cover for this one! ;)

When Arics life is once again endangered, Rowan must decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice for this man who is destined to be her bondmate.

Review
I love this series and I really loved this book! I read the first book right after it released and it quickly became one of my favorites so when this one released, I had to read it asap. Both the first book and this one are packed full of action, humor, love and pain. I love her characters, they’re always very entertaining. I found myself laughing many time throughout this book.

Aric is now a favorite for me, I absolutely LOVE him! I’m a Texas girl, born and raised, so it’s only natural that the sexy Texan caught my attention. He’s very much an alpha male, which I love, but he can be so sweet too, which I also love,  and it was so painful to see him hurt so bad inside. I just wanted  jump into the book and give him a big hug! As far as heroines go, Rowen was such a great one. Strong, independent, witty, intelligent but also has common sense. She never did anything really stupid like some usually do. She was pretty much what you see is what you get and let me tell you, what you get is hilarious. Some of the things she said had me rolling on the floor laughing so hard. And together, oh man, they were smokin hot! The chemistry between them was perfect. It just all flowed very well.

I’m still a huge fan of Sariel, I can not wait to read his story. The woman who gets him will be such a lucky one!!! It was so nice to learn more about him in this book but I still have so many questions. Kalen is another fave and after reading the recently released novella, Black Magic, I’m dying to know what happens between him and Mac. That’s sure to make a good read!

There were a few things that annoyed me. For a first time reader of this series, this book would be pretty confusing to them. Since I’ve read the first book and the novella, I knew what she was talking about but she doesn’t really go into great detail about a lot of important events and such that happened in the previous books and you kinda have to know that stuff to follow this book. Another thing was the book seemed kinda rushed. Like she was trying to cram a 500 page book into 300 pages, or however many there are. It wasn’t bad, I just wish it had flowed a little better.

All in all though, this book was very entertaining and I recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance. I very much look forward to the next book, which thankfully, is Kalen and Mac’s story! I can’t wait!!!

Memorable quotes
What the shit? Staring, she told herself she was not seeing a group of sexy, naked men standing among the rest of the wolves and wearing a range of emotions on their faces, from amusement to grim resignation.”

“Well, fuck me sideways,” she blurted.
Golden eyes sparkled with humor. “An interesting idea. May I at least have your name first?”
That surprised a laugh from her, and she held out her hand. “Rowan Chase, LAPD. You?”

"Grow a pair of balls, wolf, and use them.”
His eyes widened. “Are you calling me a pussy?”
“If the vagina fits."

While Hawke fights of the invading psy, Sienna unleashes her power and it threatens to destroy them all if she loses what tiny amount of control she has. Will Hawke finally open his heart to her fully or will he lose her before he even has her.

My Review
First things first. I LOVE this book!!! Out of all of the books in this series, this one is by far the best one yet. I’ve been itching to read Hawke and Sienna’s story since I read and loved the first book in the series. It was so much better than I could have imagined. Hawke! *sigh* I love Hawke! Since the very first time he appeared, I can’t remember what book it was, I’ve wanted to know more about the man. And I absolutely adore Sienna! She’s beautiful and strong and she makes sure Hawke never gets away with bullying her. They’re perfectly matched for one another and watching them find that within themselves was beautiful and pretty darn entertaining. Sienna definitely made Hawke work for it but he gave his fair share of challenge.

I also want to say a bit about the audio version, since that's how I read this one. I've listened to the majority of this series instead or reading it on my kindle. Not sure why I chose to listen, I just did. I'm really glad now that I did. With any other books the narrator would make the book horrible but for this series, she's perfect. The Psy are cold, emotionless beings. I imagine their voice are flat, with no feeling or anything. This reader gives that impression perfectly and yet she still gives the shifters and humans the perfect feel too.

Now I’m patiently counting down to the day I can finally read Tangle of Need, which is Riaz’s story. Now that one should make to an awesome book!!! Please Nalini, never end this series! I love it so much. I’ll continue to gobble up any and all future additions!!!

My Review:
(Originally Reviewed on Mrs. Papillion aka "The Book Worm")
I finished this book October '11 and had to get it back to the library in a hurry. Thanks to my local library for ordering this book so I can read it. I gave it actually 4.5 stars. I enjoyed reading this book and think I will have to buy it eventually for my own collection at home.
Now onto my opinion of the book. Let me just say I wasn't really into the book at the beginning. I thought it took awhile to get it up to some action and drama that I was used to reading. After a few chapters though, it got really interesting and I had a hard time putting it down. Especially, the sex scenes between the main characters Rafael and Falon. Wow!!!! It got really heated and steamy between them and I don't think I've ever read a book where the characters had so much love and sex with each other except maybe the Anita Blake Series by Laurell K. Hamilton. It even threw in a threesome almost in this book between the two brothers and Falon...but I won't get into how that happened. All I can say is Falon, the poor woman is going through a difficult time in this book and goes through hell...but she is ONE TOUGH CHICK. I loved the ending the most because it left such a KICKASS Cliffhanger that will piss you off. At least it pissed me off because I wasn't expecting it...but in a good way of pissing off. Again, poor Falon...that woman sure has gotten herself into a jam.
Now onto the characters...my favorite character has to be Falon of course because she's one strong ass female character. In fact she's been the strongest female I've read since "Dark Taste of Rapture" by Gena Showalter. Noelle and Falon would get along very well together. She goes through a lot in this book which anyone would feel sorry for her. At least I definitely did. The woman didn't know who or what she was exactly, but she knew she was different. She's being tracked down by the Slayers, but ends up coming across the Lycans. That is when she meets Rafael who she doesn't think she can trust at first. She doesn't know what world she is landed in when she comes across the Slayers and Lycans, but she has to learn quickly how to survive in their two worlds.
My thoughts on Rafael in this book is this guy definitely has had it hard too. Not only is he trying to save his pack, but he's also having to deal with his twin brother who has it out for him for killing his mate. Whoever Rafael decides to mate, his twin brother has a right to kill as per the Blood Law. Poor Rafael, if he meets his soulmate, he will be forced to turn her over to be killed by his brother. Who would want that? I almost want to hug him. He'll only know love for awhile...but what if he's willing to fight the Blood Law? Now that is when it gets really interesting.
You will have to read this book to find out what the brothers are fighting about. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it. I do want to read more about the twin brother though in the next book, which I know will happen. =) You'll also need to read the book to find out what Falon finds out about herself. Karin Tabke definitely knows how to make you sit on the edge of your seat. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and getting to know more about the characters and what happens next.

My Review:
(Originally Reviewed on Mrs. Papillion aka "The Book Worm in 2010)
Sorry for the Short Review on this book...but it was when I was still in the Navy and my work schedule was hectic at the time.
I can't believe what is happening to Grace in this book. =( Grace keeps getting into trouble because she loves Sam, but her parents think it's just a fling she will outgrow. They do everything to keep her away from him. Sam is also going through some things in this book that is putting him through hell. He doesn't turn into a wolf anymore, so now he has to live his life like he always wanted. I love how Maggie kept going back and forth to each character to see what their point of view is in the book. Although, I could've dealt without Cole. He was a pain in the butt in the book. I just wanted to go into the book and smack him. I'm looking forward to the next book, "Forever". I want to see what the author does to Grace. I also want to see how Sam deals with his humanity.
Linger, I give 4 stars.

My Review:
My opinion on the book is VERY high. I had a hard time putting down this book. Cassie and Leidolf are definitely the perfect match. They both have been loner wolfs and have lost someone(s) they love dearly. They both feel at fault for the deaths of their family members. Cassie has a hard time dealing with the fact she really wants to be a part of a pack, but doesn't want to lose anyone she loves again. From the moment Leidolf lays eyes on her, he is in love and will do anything to make Cassie his mate forever. The sticky situations they get themselves into and everything that happens at the end with Leidolfs pack...you'll definitely be surprised. I know I was. I give this book two thumbs up and 5 stars. Thanks Terry Spear for writing this book. You definitely have become one of my favorite authors. All thanks to the used book store around Pembroke area for introducing me to this wonderful author. I bought two books written by Terry Spear there at the store and fell in love with the wolf series. Now I can't get enough of this wolf stories and the world that Terry Spear has created for her characters.  Makes me wish they were real.  =)

My Review
The first book I finished in 2012.  =)
I was determined to finish "Touch of Surrender" by the 1st of the year and I'm glad I did because I have a stack of books that I need to read in the next month.
This was not my favorite book in the series at all and I think I'm being a little nice by giving this book 3 stars.  The only thing I enjoyed about this book was Morgan, the Heroine in the story and Ashe.  The Hero, Kierland, was pissing me off.  I wanted to go through the book and slap him like crazy.  He sounded like whiny B**** instead of a Man.  Grrr!!!
I also felt like the story was dragging and didn't really have much action to it.  It was mostly going back and forth to Morgan and Kierland's point of view.  Morgan would complain about Kierland's mean attentions and Kierland would say how difficult it was to work with and be with Morgan.
There was a few times, I wanted to throw the book across the room.  The only thing that got me interested was when Morgan's ex-lover, and close friend, Ashe came into the book.  It was about time someone knocked some sense into Kierland and even Morgan.
I was upset the book didn't have much of a storyline to it also.  It was focusing on Kellan's character, Kierland's brother and getting him back.  I do love Kellan though and I'm looking forward to his book...but Kierland didn't even many fight scenes like the previous books did.  He had more of a emotional drama instead of a physical one.  He just didn't know what he wanted until he almost lost Morgan and even then, he was being a big pain in the ass...not seeing the BIG Picture.  Gr!
I plan on reading the next book in the series and hopefully it will get me back to loving the series...but as of now...the only thing that saved this book was a Vampire who I wish I knew more about.  I was even hoping Morgan would hook back up with him instead of Kierland.
I recommend this book who loves the series...and who actually adores Kierland in previous books...but for me...Kierland didn't live up to his potential like I thought he was.

My Review:
I always love reading books from new authors that I haven't tried out yet.  I came across Robin P. Waldrop at Goodreads.com...which is my fave site to be on.  Once I read the description of "Ties of the Blood Moon", I knew I had to see what it was all about.
First off, this is my first book I've read that has it's location in Alaska.  Usually, when you read about Vampires it's in Louisiana or another southern state (except for Twilight of course).  Werewolves are usually in northern Washington, Colorado, etc.  It's time for a book to have most of it's action in Alaska.  One state I would love to visit.
Robin P. Waldrop takes you into a different world of Werewolves and Vampires.  They work together, actually.  Well...kind of.  The werewolves have been waiting for their princess to come back and take the throne.  ***That's a storyline never used before...and I really enjoyed it***.
She throws in twists and turns you weren't expecting...like the ending.  Really...Robin...that was not expected.  I kept thinking other things, but you really threw me off.  Sorry, everyone I'm not spoiling anything about this book.  If you want to find out what Robin does, you need to read it for yourself.  I hate giving out spoilers.
Now for one of the things that I wasn't really fond of...in the beginning it just dragged on, with a love development story between the characters.  It did remind me a little bit about Twilight in the beginning, but after awhile, it took it a different turn...which made me like it again.  Sometimes, having too much of a development of romance in the characters and not enough action, makes me want to put down a book and stop reading it.  I can't stand heroines who also complain and whine.  Genevieve did irritate me in parts of the books, but that's because she's a teenager.  I remember being a teenager, but I'm glad I didn't act like her in certain parts of the book when she gave her Aunt a hard time.
I will say this, Robin, definitely had me loving the characters, Joseph and Luna in the book.  I especially loved Joseph. There is just something about him, I like better than William. Luna of course is an amazing friend to Genevieve and I loved how Robin writes about the friendship between Luna and Genevieve.  You don't usually see that in books.  You usually just read about the romance, not friendship.
I recommend this to anyone who loves a different twist to the vampire/werewolf stories and who also loves twists and turns.  You'll definitely get a few "What the heck" and "No way" in this book.
Thank you, Robin for giving me a chance to read/review your book.  I look forward to reading more about these characters and find out what their next adventure is.
