Review: "Blood Vow" by Karin Tabke
Blood Vow
(Blood Moon Rising Trilogy #3)
by: Karin Tabke
Publishing Date: 12/4/12
Publisher: Berkley Trade
Genre: Paranormal Erotic Romance
Source: Bought from Amazon (Paperback)
Description:
The coming of the Blood Moon will lead two Lycan packs into war, spur two rival brothers into conflict, and spark an act of vengeance so evil that its effects will be felt for generations.
One woman stands at the center of it all…
A volatile mix of both Lycan and Slayer, half-breed Falon is Alpha female of her pack, marked by both Lucien and Rafael—rival Alpha brothers that share equal hold on her heart. But when Falon’s mysterious past completely unravels, it is revealed she is the daughter of the Master Slayer who murdered Lucien and Rafael’s parents. The revelation throws her relationship with both brothers into chaos.
Falon begs them not to condemn her for her father’s deeds. She realizes before her Alpha mates that they are destined to be one and pleads with them to accept the unusual triangle. If the brothers accept her as their mate then the Blood Law of an eye for an eye would be null and void. But if Lucien and Rafael cannot overcome their pride and accept their fate, the annihilation of the Lycan race waits within the shadow of the Blood Moon…

My Review:
I am so sad to have read the last page of "Blood Vow" because now I know it is has officially ended the trilogy of Falon, Lucian, and Rafe. I have fallen in love with this trilogy since the moment I read the first page of "Blood Law". I am saddened that it has ended, but now I am intrigued even more with the last page of "Blood Vow".
Karin Tabke, you know how to write a book that makes my emotions go haywire...I went from about to cry, to smiling, to squirming in my seat (or actually bed), to about to go through the book and knock some sense into Rafe and Lucien's heads...and to back to ecstatic again. I LOVE YOUR WRITING!!
I also must say I STILL am in LOVE with Lucien!!!
"Blood Vow" picks up where "Bloodright" left off. Falon has been taken by Fenrir, who is helping the Slayers kill off the Lycans. The Blood Moon Rising is coming and Fenrir wants Falon on his side and as his. She of course knows that Lucien and Rafe will come for her.
Falon finds out the truth when she is with Fenrir and that she has lycan blood and slayer blood in her as well. She finds out who her father is and she is determined to not tell Lucien and Rafe because it will break their heart and they will forced to kill her since they vowed to take revenge on their parents.
When Lucien and Rafe rescue Falon...Falon has terms that both the alphas have difficulty coming to terms with. She wants both of them...not just one of them.
Lucien and Rafe must decide if they can handle sharing Falon with each other, as well as prepare their packs of the fight that is coming to them. Fenrir wants war and wants the Lycans dead for what they did to them hundreds of years ago. It is up to the power of three to kill Fenrir...but Falon knows the truth on what is supposed to happen and how to kill Fenrir...but she is not ready to spill her secret.
Oh boy...."Blood Vow" has a lot going on and I definitely do not want to spoil this book for anyone who has read the other two books and is waiting to read this one. Or for the readers who are wanting to read the trilogy and haven't.
This book opened up a huge secret and it definitely put Falon in a bind. When the truth did come out...I could have beat the crap out of the two alphas. GRRR!!
Although, in the end one of them comes to terms before the other. Can you say TRUE LOVE?! =) I knew he would in the end.
Rafe was a complete jerk in this book and I hated him for certain things he did. I would have rather Falon fallen for one of the characters, but I could see why she wanted both. She made them both stronger Alphas and they also helped her.
I swear every chapter left me hanging and maybe move onto the other chapter to find out what happened next.
I love how Karin switches back and forth to all 3 characters so we know what is going on inside their heads. (LOVE her writing style)
Falon has been one of the FAVE strong female characters throughout all 3 books. Karin definitely wrote the perfect character to carry the trilogy. Falon grew so much in each book and this book, she proved how strong she is and how stronger she could be compared to Rafe and Lucien.
Also....the steamy threesomes between these characters were definitely HOT! You will take cold showers after each one, which is saying a lot since there were many. Oh my GOODNESS! =)
Falon does have her happily ever after in this book and so do the two male characters who have stolen her heart, as well as mine.
This trilogy will be a re-read in the very near future because I know I will miss the characters a lot.
If you have not read this trilogy yet, what are you waiting for.
If you love the paranormal romance genre with erotic elements...and well menage trois elements as well....READ this book...but first read the other two...otherwise you will miss out on some fabulous books.
Karin Tabke has closed out an amazing trilogy that definitely will be missed....but in the end, she leaves us asking ourselves...is that truly the ending? Darn you, Karin! =) Much love to a fabulous Author who knows how to make us fall in love with her characters and the world she has created.
I love how she came up with this trilogy and I definitely look forward to her future books. She has a fan for life. =)

Guest Post & Giveaway with Karin Tabke
I (FranJessca) am excited to welcome back Karin Tabke to Book Lovin' Mamas today. She's one of my FAVE Authors who is an automatic buy for me whenever she has a new book come out. Her last book in the Blood Moon Rising Trilogy, "Blood Vow" came out on Tuesday, 12/4. If you have never read this Trilogy before, then you definitely should start. You'll be able to read all 3 books back to back, instead of waiting. =)
Just be warned, you will fall in love with all the characters and find out that Falon is one LUCKY woman!
I Write What I Know
First off, I want to say a quick thank
you to FranJessca for the invite to come back and hang out with Book Lovin’ Mamas! Xo
I write what I know: which happens to
be erotic romance populated with hot cops, knights in shining armor, sinful
lycan, wicked vamps, and the sexy ladies who fight with them, for them and
right beside them. I guess that makes me
a kick ass, sex pot who fears nothing and has the hottest guys on the planet
panting after her. Whoo hoo it’s great to be me!
Hah, in my dreams.
But there are some parallels… ^_~
Am I sex pot? Hey, I’m not a nun. I write
erotic romance for a living.
I am
married to a retired cop.
I may not have stolen top secret
information from foreign arms dealers or karate chopped my way out of an ambush
but I have kicked a few asses in my time when the circumstances required such
action.
I have the hero department nailed. I
write the kind of heroes I have intimate knowledge of: the enigmatic alpha. i.e
the hubster. For those of you who have read my work, you know my heroes are
alpha to the max. They are intelligent,
decisive, passionate, protective, loyal, possessive, and they can always make
my heroine laugh. There are no gray
areas with my men. They are born with an
inherent command presence and while the world sees them as serious and moody,
they have a soft mushy center when it comes to the people they love, most
especially their lady.
I’d be lying if I said there isn’t a
part of me in every one of my heroines.
Some more than others, but at the end of the day, they are as alpha as
their men, but all woman. I like being a
woman. I like all that being a female
entails, especially the part of me that connects with my hero. Same goes for my
heroines. They love loving their men.
It’s good to be us. ;)
When I wrote Falon’s character in the Blood Moon Rising series, she came to me
in slow enigmatic wisps. In BLOOD LAW, she was innocent and unsure,
yet her strength grew with the power of Rafael’s love. In BLOODRIGHT,
stripped of Rafa’s love and protection Falon had to stand alone and face the
choice of standing beside a man she despised and who was forced on her or walk
away from him and in so doing let an entire nation down. Not only did she dig deep, she redefined
herself and the two men she loved. In BLOOD VOW, Falon comes fully into her
own and is a force of nature to be reckoned with. Yet for all her power, she is
also vulnerable. She loves and hates with equal fierceness. And the two men who love her more than their
own lives will stop at nothing to have her as their own.
In many ways, Falon’s evolution of
discovering her own power as a woman mirrored mine. And there is power in simply
knowing you possess it. Not power over
others but of yourself. Once Falon realized who she was to herself, the two men
she loved and to her people, there was no stopping her. Not even when she was abandoned. She was going to get the job done regardless. It’s women like Falon who I aspire to
be.
Now I know we all love our heroes, but tell me, who is your all-time
favorite heroine?
^_~ Ok, I have one more question: For those of you who have read BLOOD LAW and BLOODRIGHT: Team Rafa or Team Luca?
I have a signed copy of any one of my back list titles to a
randomly selected commenter who answers either one of the questions in the
comment section.
Oh, and if we aren’t already fb friends, send me a friend

(Bio taken from website)
For a long time, controlled chaos ruled Karin’s life. Busy mother of four, owner of her own successful business and wife to a street cop, she harbored thoughts of twisting plots and hot romantic scenes. Now, with only one child left at home and hubby retired from law enforcement, Karin happily pounds out those steamy scenes at her keyboard.
Still semi-distracted by her adult children (Yay! no more phone calls from the high school!) and her husband now a successful football coach (Yay! No more worrying when he’s out on the street!), Karin turns out stories about hot cops, bold knights, bad boy werewolves, and the women who bring them to their knees.
A full-time writer, Karin draws on a lifetime of stories and backdrops that few outside of the law enforcement community ever see, let alone hear about. Controlled chaos now reins supreme through the pages she writes where hot heroes serve, protect, and pleasure from page one to The End.

Let's give a GREAT Big Welcome to Karin Tabke today on Book Lovin' Mamas. =)
She's our Author Spotlight for April and her Series "Blood Moon Rising" is our Series Spotlight.
You may also know her as Karin Harlow.
More information on Karin and her Series is found HERE.
AUTHOR TAKEOVER
Interview with the lovely Karin Tabke:
Thank you, FranJessca for the invite to hang out today!
1. What does a typical writing day look to you?
It’s supposed to look like this: Up by 8 a.m. make the coffee and spend one hour tops checking email and fb. Take hubby and dog for a walk at 9, in the shower by 10:30, begin writing at 11, break for lunch about 1ish, back to writing. Wrap up writing for the day around 4, kick back and enjoy the rest of the day and evening. Reality: Get up at 10ish, spend too many hours on the internet, blow off the walk. Eat lunch at 2, hang out with my granddaughter. Sneak in some shopping. Fix dinner, watch TV with hubby, head up to my office around 9ish, mess around some more on the internet, finally start writing around 11, wrap up around 3:30-4:00, hit the sack. Rinse and repeat.
2. Did you always want to be a writer?
Yes.
And what inspired you most to become a Writer?
My imagination. I wrote my first book in high school. It was a daydream about me and Rod Stewart. It was really awful.
3. When your not writing, what are your hobbies/interests?
I love wine. Napa is my bff. I love to cook and love to shop for just the right ingredients. I stalk our local Farmer’s Market every Saturday. I grow orchids, or let me rephrase, I’m trying to grow orchids. But my bliss is every second I spend with my granddaughter.
4. Fun Question: If you could travel to any country, where would you go and what would you do?
I’m torn. I’d love to go to England and immerse myself in the history of that country. But the other half wants to hit up the Italian Riviera and live the life!
5. What Summer Movie(s) are you looking forward to this year?
21 Jump Street and…is Dark Shadows coming out this summer? That is a must see for me.
6. Who are some of your Favorite Authors nowadays and who were your favorite Authors when you were a Teenager?
My favorites as a teenager were Kathleen Woodiwiss (LOVE her stuff!), Rosemary Rodgers, and Katherine Sutcliff.
7. What inspired you to write the Blood Moon Trilogy?
Sons of Anarchy and Rise of the Lycan. Two of my favorite things, bad boy bikers and sexy shifters.
8. What advice would you give someone who wants to write their own novels one day?
Just do it. One word at a time, one after another. And don’t quit. And DO NOT OVERTHINK it. Just let it come.
9. Fun Question: If the Blood Moon Trilogy was ever made into a movie, which actors/actresses would you want to play the characters and why?
I would have loved the late Andy Whitfield to play Rafa. Dark and moody Lucien? A longer, darker-haired, broodier Alex O’Loughlin. Falon? Hands down Megan Fox.
10. I’ve read in previous interviews from other blogs you have a Cane Corso. Tell us a little bit about her. =) I ask because I also have Cane Corso, he’s a Big Mama’s boy and he’s supposed to be my husband’s dog, but he’s very protective towards his Mama.
Lucky you! I love Corsos! They are such a special breed, aren’t they? My girl, Bella, is a 110 lb lap dog. She’s a lover, and extremely intelligent. She trains like a charm and retains it. She’s a worrier when she detects anxiety or that something isn’t right. I’ve never owned (or been owned) by such an intuitive dog. She loves to hop in the car for a long ride or a short one. She’s friendly but can be guarded with strangers. My granddaughter can take a bone out of her mouth and Bella gladly gives it up. I’d love a few more, but they require a lot of care, so, one for now.
If you haven't even thought about reading Blood Moon Rising Trilogy, what are you waiting for? You definitely are missing out on some Sexy ASS Lycans.
GIVEAWAY
And for all the Ladies out there who have considered reading this Trilogy and haven't had a chance to buy the first book or for the ones who haven't even considered it, but now want to check it out...here's your chance to win a signed copy of the first book in the Trilogy, "Blood Law", from Karin Tabke.

My Review:
I'm in shock. What just happened? What the heck?
What a friggin' cliffhanger! Definitely didn't expect that at all.
After finishing this book, I threw my hands up in the air with clenched fists, screaming Why?!! Don't leave me hanging like that! This book took me through so many emotional moments, that I'm glad my husband wasn't here to witness it. He would've took me to a shrink. He would've told the shrink that I was losing my mind going crazy over fictional characters. He's right though because I've fallen in love with every character in this book. I feel so sorry for Falon. How can you choose over honorable, golden boy, Rafael or dark and dangerous, who hates the laws, Lucien? I sure can't.
Falon is one strong-willed, dangerous alpha female in this book who put Lucien in his place several times.
My favorite part in the book is on page 44 when Falon tells Lucien off. You go girl!! I love strong ass heroines and she's one of my favorites now after reading this book.
Some people may find her annoying because she can't choose who she loves, Rafe or Luca? But...really if you were in her shoes, could you?
In Blood Law, we got to read about Falon and Rafe together. I thought Karin couldn't top the scenes she did in that book, but of course she proved me wrong and I'm forever in "Awe" because of it.
The sex scenes, the emotions, the fight scenes, and even the hilarious moments in "Bloodright" will have you not wanting to put the book down. I lost sleep because of this book. I read it slowly because I know how far December is away. I wanted to cherish every moment with these characters.
There was so much I loved about this book...it would take me forever to list.
There was so much I loved about this book...it would take me forever to list.
"Bloodright" picks up where "Blood Law" left off from. You are thrown into the chaos of Lucien choosing Falon over killing her. He wanted to play at Rafe's emotions and he definitely did in this book. Falon of course wants nothing to do with him. Although, after being with him so long, she finds he's irresistible in a different way than Rafe. She feels the need to tame the beast in him. Poor Rafe in this book is forced to do something he doesn't want to. How could he get over his chosen mate in just a short period time?
After reading this book though I feel that Falon has 9 lives. That girl died so many times, it wasn't funny. The end though is what's going to blow your mind. I won't give away the spoiler of it. Just remember to pay attention when you read it.
I recommend this book to anyone who is a erotica lover, shifter addict (like I am), and isn't afraid to get out of your comfort zone...because there will be times you will you'll have to put down the book to breathe normally. This book definitely took me out of my comfort zone, but in a GREAT way. I don't think I'll ever read a book that tops Karin's writing style ever again. I thought Laurell K. Hamilton had me out of my comfort zone with her sex scenes. I definitely was wrong. Karin Tabke has become the BEST Erotica/Paranormal Romance I've read.
I'm going to be in tears when the next book comes out because that will be the last book. All things must come to end though. I will say this, I will be re-reading this books over and over again whenever I want my fix of Luca. Yes...I'm rooting for Lucien. I love the dangerous, dark men who need to be tamed.
If you haven't even thought about reading the Blood Moon Rising Trilogy, what are you waiting for?

Author & Series Spotlight - April 2012
Happy April 1st, Everyone!!! Or otherwise known as April's Fool's Day...but we're not planning on fooling anyone today. Instead it's time to announce our Author/Series Spotlight for the month of April.
This month we have chosen
Karin Tabke (Harlow)
Here is a little bit about the talented/wonderful Author: (Bio taken from her Website)
Don't you just love her Bio. =) Even her Bio is FANTASTIC!!
She also writes under the pen name Karin Harlow (paranormal romantic suspense)

Instead of ending her life, Lucien defiantly marks Falon as his own, tormenting his brother to insanity and spurning Rafael's blood thirst for his own revenge.
Though terrified by the savage Lucien, Falon finds herself inexplicably drawn to his primal rage and strength by a desire she cannot resist. Torn between the true love she has for Rafael and the burning hunger she holds for Lucien, Falon knows that the will of her heart will lead her to her destined life mate. But it may also doom the Alpha brothers-and the Lycan race-to extinction..

My Review:
(Originally Reviewed on Mrs. Papillion aka "The Book Worm")
I finished this book October '11 and had to get it back to the library in a hurry. Thanks to my local library for ordering this book so I can read it. I gave it actually 4.5 stars. I enjoyed reading this book and think I will have to buy it eventually for my own collection at home.
Now onto my opinion of the book. Let me just say I wasn't really into the book at the beginning. I thought it took awhile to get it up to some action and drama that I was used to reading. After a few chapters though, it got really interesting and I had a hard time putting it down. Especially, the sex scenes between the main characters Rafael and Falon. Wow!!!! It got really heated and steamy between them and I don't think I've ever read a book where the characters had so much love and sex with each other except maybe the Anita Blake Series by Laurell K. Hamilton. It even threw in a threesome almost in this book between the two brothers and Falon...but I won't get into how that happened. All I can say is Falon, the poor woman is going through a difficult time in this book and goes through hell...but she is ONE TOUGH CHICK. I loved the ending the most because it left such a KICKASS Cliffhanger that will piss you off. At least it pissed me off because I wasn't expecting it...but in a good way of pissing off. Again, poor Falon...that woman sure has gotten herself into a jam.
Now onto the characters...my favorite character has to be Falon of course because she's one strong ass female character. In fact she's been the strongest female I've read since "Dark Taste of Rapture" by Gena Showalter. Noelle and Falon would get along very well together. She goes through a lot in this book which anyone would feel sorry for her. At least I definitely did. The woman didn't know who or what she was exactly, but she knew she was different. She's being tracked down by the Slayers, but ends up coming across the Lycans. That is when she meets Rafael who she doesn't think she can trust at first. She doesn't know what world she is landed in when she comes across the Slayers and Lycans, but she has to learn quickly how to survive in their two worlds.
My thoughts on Rafael in this book is this guy definitely has had it hard too. Not only is he trying to save his pack, but he's also having to deal with his twin brother who has it out for him for killing his mate. Whoever Rafael decides to mate, his twin brother has a right to kill as per the Blood Law. Poor Rafael, if he meets his soulmate, he will be forced to turn her over to be killed by his brother. Who would want that? I almost want to hug him. He'll only know love for awhile...but what if he's willing to fight the Blood Law? Now that is when it gets really interesting.
You will have to read this book to find out what the brothers are fighting about. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it. I do want to read more about the twin brother though in the next book, which I know will happen. =) You'll also need to read the book to find out what Falon finds out about herself. Karin Tabke definitely knows how to make you sit on the edge of your seat. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and getting to know more about the characters and what happens next.
