Review: "Lead and Follow" by Katie Porter
Lead and Follow
(Club Devant #1)
by: Katie Porter
Publishing Date: 1/8/13
Publisher: Samhain Publishing
Genre: Erotica w/ M/M | Menage
Source: Provided by Author
Description:
The best partners share everything...
Lizzie Maynes's torn ACL threatens more than her career as an international Latin ballroom champion. During her lengthy recovery, her longtime professional partner, Dima Turgenev, has been dancing at the Chelsea District's most notorious burlesque, Club Devant. More than just dancing, he’s been experimenting with shocking new moves that make her want to pull him off stage and get back on tour as soon as possible--the better to keep their successful friendship safe.
Dima knows all about safety, and the lack thereof, because he blames himself for Lizzie’s injury. Far from the pressures of competition, Club Devant is the perfect creative venue to rebuild his rattled confidence. He’d love for Lizzie to join him and revel in the club's intoxicating freedoms. By exploring the new sensual energy simmering between them, they could become more than friends.
Paul Reeves, a recently divorced Texan starting over in the Big Apple, is all for joining the dancers as they blaze through sexual boundaries. But he also knows their sizzling trio won’t last. Lizzie and Dima belong together. Before the last sparks fade, he plans to transform two stubborn friends into lasting lovers--one raunchy lesson at a time.
Warning: Burlesque meets ballroom in this f***ing sexy book when a smoldering Russian dance god and a blonde firecracker with hips possessed by the devil share a sunny, filthy-minded Texan--for just a dance or two.
My Review:
This is my first book from the fabulous Katie Porter and it definitely will not be my last. My blog partner has read Katie's books before and I read the synopsis of "Lead and Follow", I knew it was one book I had to read from Katie Porter.
"Lead and Follow" is a erotica with M/M and Menage in it. Erotica is one of my fave genres and having M/M and Menage elements made this book beyond HOT.
Remember me saying the synopsis sold me on reading this book, well reading this book, I definitely look forward to reading the next book in the Club Devant series and so on.
This is the first book I have read that has dancing in it and the dancing is ballroom style, but with a lot of sexiness involved.
Here you have the sexy Russian who has the right moves and the sexy blonde bombshell who knows the sexy Russian's moves by heart. In fact she knows how to make the Russian fall for her.
After her injury while dancing with her partner, Lizzie has been coping with what happen. She could lose everything she ever worked for including her partner if she does not get her act together.
Dima remembers the day his partner tore her ACL and it has been eating at him since then. He wants his dance partner back, but she has been acting different ever since the injury.
Club Devant where Dima dances at now with his new partner is not what he truly wants. He feels stressed due to what happened to his partner and the club owner knows something is missing in Dima's life.
It takes an outsider to have Lizzie and Dima realize what they are capable of doing together.
Paul, the outsider who is the bartender at Club Devant meets with Lizzie and has some fun with her and he is intrigued with Dima the minute he sees him. Lizzie and Dima are about to make his world different, but he is about to change their world as well.
Katie Porter pulls you into story of two stubborn friends who put themselves through so much drama and sex. She thens makes you run to take several cold showers after all the amazing sex between Paul, Dima, and Lizzie. OMG! Just thinking about those scenes...makes me want to have a cold glass of water to calm down.
Dima and Lizzie have so much chemistry, not only because of their dances together, but being there with and for each other since they were young. I fell in love with both them the minute they were introduced. The best part of this book was you get inside the head of both of them so you feel each of their emotions and what they are going through. Who did I side with more though...Dima. Poor guy...he definitely was feeling crazy over what Lizzie kept putting him through. I just wanted to go through the book and hug him and maybe even steal him from Lizzie. I was rooting for them to get together though. They definitely were meant for each other.
Paul, the sexy cowboy bartender....my thoughts on him...sex in a cowboy hat...enough said on that one.
Remember the saying, save a horse, ride a cowboy....definitely thinking that when I read the scenes with Paul.
Lizzie was one lucky gal in this story. She had both Dima and Paul. She needed that swift kick in the butt at the end though.
Oh...and the ending was the best part in the story. I was literally in tears. I felt like I was on stage with Dima when his dance partner came into the light.
Katie Porter's "Lead and Follow" is an amazing sexy start to the Club Devant novels. The title alone should have you wanting to buy the book because the title has meaning to the story and what happens between the characters.
I give this book 4.5 full moons and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy the erotica genre.
I look forward to what Katie Porter does in the next books and I will be well-prepared ahead of time when I read the next books too...cold water and ice to help me cool down and maybe even a glass of wine or two or three. Oh yes...this is that kind of book.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Review: "Girl Most Likely to" by Barbara Elsborg
Girl Most Likely to
by: Barbara Elsborg
Publishing Date: 7/11/12
Publisher: Ellora's Cave
Genre: Erotic (Menage) Romance
Source: Provided by Author
Description:
Wren doesn’t feel like the girl most likely to end up living happily ever after. Especially when Adam, aka THE BIG MISTAKE, comes back into her life. He wants a second chance but Wren’s afraid to risk another dent in her battered heart.
When Adam reconnects with Wren, he’s torn between wooing her and pursuing Tomas, the sexy guy in the flat next door. They both make his heart sing—how can he possibly choose? Or maybe he’s finally found a man and woman to give him the balance he craves.
Tomas knows better than to let his personal life interfere with his job as an undercover officer but he can’t get enough of Adam…or Wren. Or Adam and Wren, when they’re hot, naked and writhing together in his bed.
Suddenly Wren’s gone from the girl most likely to get ripped off to the girl most likely to get off. But it’s more than sex. She, Tomas and Adam have something special, something they’re determined to protect at all costs.
My Review:
Excuse me, while I fan myself because this was one HOT book.
I have read erotic books before with menage in them, but nothing like this book.
Barbara Elsborg definitely knows how to write a very sexy, steamy, hot scene between two guys and one girl. And can I just say the girl was lucky. =)
Wren has dated some awful blokes in the past, in fact, she still happens to see one every day when she goes to work since he's married to her cousin and works at the same school she does. She even had a guy she thought loved her, but ended up stealing her money and charging up her credit card. She feels she will never meet a good guy she can trust with her heart.
Wren never thought she would be tempted in life with two guys...until she meets Tomas and Adam. Adam she met five years ago in Venice, Italy. They had a very steamy moment together and they thought, they would never see each other again....then there's Tomas who is in Wren's English class. Wren believes something is up with him since he manages to make jokes in English and he will not stop flirting with her. She knows she should not hook up with a student, but Tomas is making it tough on her.
Wren is already tempted by Tomas in class and then she finds out Adam is in her Italian class. She has two guys now sneaking her attention.
Although, Tomas and Adam have their own secret agenda for her and themselves. Adam is on vacation from London, England trying to get his assistants out of his head and trying to come with peace that he will never have what they have in a relationship. Until he meets Tomas next door and runs into Wren....now he thinks he has met the two people who will change his life for the better.
And Tomas is living a secret life that he is trying to keep to himself, until Wren ends up in the middle of it and so does Adam.
I could go on and on, but I will spoil the book for readers who want to give it go.
Let me just tell you ahead of time....this is a menage book that involves male on male, male on male on female and lots of sex, which includes anal and many other things. (You get the idea) It also includes a fetish club that involves dressing up and many other things that you can think of that may happen in a fetish club.
I just wanted to warn you a head of time before you dive into this book.
I really enjoyed the storyline of the book as well as, if you have not guess, the sexual encounters between all three characters as well. Barbara definitely supplies you with suspense, romance, and very erotic moments. I know for a fact I needed a cold shower after every sex scene between Wren, Tomas, and Adam. Wren definitely got with two experienced guys who helped her make her mind up with the experience they offered her.
Once you start this book, you will want to figure out what is going on where Wren works, why Tomas has to work with the bad buy, and if Adam is hiding something (because he is sometimes too good to be true).
Wren was one strong female character who happened to get her self into a lot of trouble through the book, but she handles it well.
Adam had his insecurities about having a relationship with Wren and Tomas and if they were willing to be a threesome. He was trying everything to come to terms to what happened to him in the past.
Tomas had his own past he had to deal with and get over. He was trying everything to keep his secret hidden, but when it fell through, he just wanted to keep everyone he loved safe.
If you love erotica that involves menage, that includes lots of sex (regular, anal, etc...) and also enjoy some suspense and action, you will definitely enjoy "Girl Most Likely to".
You will also eventually find out the meaning behind the title of the book. =)
I will definitely be checking out Barbara's other books very soon.

Guest Post by Donya Lynne - The Arms of Winter
Donya
resides in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband and a small zoo of cats and
dogs. In fact, her writing buddy, Lucky, serves as her writing assistant most
days, staying right by her side and distracting Donya with her adorable-ness
when needed. Because, hey, every author needs a distraction once in a while.
As a
little girl, Donya always had a book in her hand. As she got older, the books
became pens and notebooks, which she filled with stories and poetry. For as
long as she remembers, she has been writing and studying the writing craft with
the goal of being published one day. She is passionate about providing readers
with what she calls an experience. She wants readers to be able to sink into
her stories and escape reality for just a little while, and every word is
written, and every sentence structured, with that goal in mind.
Donya
loves music and often finds inspiration for her stories in the wide range of
music she listens to. But occasionally it's a movie, a book, or just a drive
around town that inspires her work. She constantly reads new material, new
authors, and different styles of writing as a means to improve her own, and
believes the writing process is one an author should always strive to perfect,
even though perfecting it is an impossible feat. It's the thrill of the chase
and the challenge that keeps her from getting stagnant in her own work.
She
has several projects planned and in progress, including eight more novels and
two novellas in the All the King's Men series, as well as several stand-alone
novels, another series, and several short stories and novellas. She would love
to share her journey with you in this exciting venture.
The Arms of Winter by Donya Lynne
Hello, everybody! I'm so happy to be guesting on Book Lovin
Mamas today, introducing you to my new book, The Arms of Winter, which was just
released on June 30 by Silver Publishing.
I'm normally all about the paranormal. Vampires, fairies,
mystical creatures. That's where I typically live in my writing, as evidenced
in my series, All the King's Men, which includes my debut novel, Rise of the
Fallen, as well as book two of the series, Heart of the Warrior. If you read
those books, you'll see how much I love straying from the human world and into
a world of dark fantasy.
However, a call for submission by Silver Publishing last
year caught my eye. They wanted stories about men and women in uniform. I've
got a thing for snipers, so this appealed to me, and I very quickly found the
idea forming for The Arms of Winter. Immediately, I sat down and cranked out
the draft and sent it off to my beta readers. One loved it so much that she
said it was her favorite piece of all she'd read by me. I submitted it, and
several weeks later Silver contacted me to inform me they'd accepted the piece.
The Arms of Winter is what I would call an erotic love
story, and it's full of all my trademark emotional upheaval, conflict, and
adversity. In my world, a story just isn't a story without a good dose of
conflict and adversity. It's like Miracle Whip for fiction. LOL.
Hopefully, you will enjoy The Arms of Winter as much as my
beta readers did. And if your thing is more paranormal, look up my All the
King's Men series. You're sure to sink your fangs into those stories as much as
this one. I never thought I'd branch away from my paranormal roots, but now
that I've written The Arms of Winter, I think I'll venture down more normal and
"human" roads in my stories more often.
Book blurb:
After spending four months recovering from a brutal beating for being
gay, Sam Winter is medically discharged from the Army. At his family's estate
in Kentucky, he faces his father's condemnation and his mother's denial about
his homosexuality. The one thing he is certain
about is his feelings for his best friend, Cooper Brown, whom Sam has secretly
been attracted to since high school.
For years, Cooper has harbored a secret attraction toward Sam and is
finally ready to tell him. During a camping trip to their childhood stomping
grounds, they open up and their friendship expands in ways neither thought
possible.
However, when an explosive
confrontation occurs, Sam's and Cooper's fates are decided in one harsh moment
of truth.

Description
When Rodney is shot trying to save his friend, he ends up
taking an extended medical leave from his job as a city police officer and
stays on a ranch where he met Jacob. He’s unsure if he’ll be able to work again
and that has had him feeling sorry for himself.
Jacob has been there for Rodney as his friend because that’s
what Rodney needed him to be, but he’s been secretly in love with Rodney since
they met months ago.
Now that Rodney has gotten a clean bill of health and an
Okay to go back to work, he’s conflicted because of his feeling for Jacob. Time
is up now so it’s time for Rodney to stop ignoring his feelings and for Jacob to
stop hiding his.
Review
I’ve read this series as they've each been released so I was really
excited to see Rodney and Jacob get their own story. I’ve read a lot of erotica, it’s probably my
favorite genre to read, and I’ve read plenty of m/f/m with m/m in it but never
just m/m. I’m happy to say I was pleasantly surprised! This was a very heart-warming
story about two men who belonged
together and I found myself enjoying it like any other book I’ve read.
Jacob and Rodney were a great match with Rodney being the more
serious tough guy and Jacob being the fun, happy go lucky guy. They complemented
each other very well and it was so great to finally see them give in to the
attraction.
This was a pretty short read but if you’ve read the previous
two books then you know that the build-up came in the last book so it worked
for them to just jump right into it. If you haven’t read the other books then
what are you waiting for? Go, buy, read and fall in love just like I did.
I should also add that it was SO great to get an update on Caleb and Jessie! Very exciting!!! Their's was my favorite of the three books! *Sigh*
