You see? I’m a bit of a dork. After writing a couple dark books that made me cry, I needed a break from them. I had written angst, death, torture, loss and then of course, love…but I wanted happy times.

So I thought up a five book series about holidays.

Because you know, holidays are always happy, right?

Stop laughing at me.

Stop.

I know, I know, holidays can be stressful, annoying, and crazy. But add in the cute idea of paranormals that happen to deal with the holidays? Yes, that’s a bit cuter.

So I went and chose five holidays—or days in a child’s life where something could happen.

First was Halloween in Charmed Spirits. I got to play with ghosts, witches, and lost love. Then Christmas where I made up my own world with Justin’s job and got to meet a perky elf in Rina. Then of course, was Valentine’s Day where I got to make up my own Cupid and a sweet Abby.

For St. Patrick’s Day I got to play around without going with the little small green man. Don’t worry, Brayden is all hunky and sexy and not a leprechaun…but he’s still lucky.

My last book is called Dreams of Ivory, but I’ll leave you to guess what that could be about. *wink*

So yes, I wrote about holidays because I wanted to be happy. They still have angst and some darkness. But I get to be cute. What more could I want?

Oh man, I need a cold shower after reading this sexy little novella! Anne really knows how to write the steamy stuff!!! I was really taken with both Ronan and Thea but Ronan was my favorite of the two. He's the typical big sexy alpha male and he's firefighter. What is better than that? And he was perfect for Thea, who was no longer really living because she lost her husband a couple of years before. They are such the match made in heaven. Thea needed to be rescued and him having his hero complex needed someone to rescue. And let me tell you, he did a really REALLY good job of rescuing her. ;)

I had one little issue with the book but it didn't affect how much I enjoyed it. The scene with Thea, Ronan and Tim was a bit awkward to me. Maybe it's just me but I don't really see how sharing your woman will show her that she really only needs you. But like I said, maybe it's just me. I enjoy a good menage story every now and then but this part of the story fell kind of flat for me.

All in all, this was a great holiday read! Fun, sexy and a little sad at times. Made for a great one sitting kind of book. I really enjoyed it and I plan to look into this authors other books now! If you enjoy erotica and you like those big sexy fire fighters that have a hero complex, well then this book is for you!!!

The Mean Hero

Not every hero is a knight in shining armor. More often than not, they’re anything but. I for one, love that. I love the fact that these alpha men have cracks in their armor. They’re a little rusty and bruised from a hard life. That draws me in. I know it’s not for everyone, but that’s a big thing for me.

Even with all those bruises, heroes can come in many forms. They can take those experiences and use them to be kind and knowing.

Other times they’re mean.

Yes, today I’m talking about the mean hero. Sometimes those heroes have been through so much, they’re hiding from the world and pushing back so hard they’re an ass. I know this happens.

Adam Jamenson is an ass.

He lost his mate, half his soul—literally—and his unborn child in an attack from a rival Pack and now he’s trying to live his life alone. He’s spent twenty years—a short time for a werewolf—living that way.

But now Fate is back and has given him a new mate, Bay.

Adam doesn’t take her in his arms immediately. *snort* Yeah, not at all. This isn’t a love at first sight story. This is a man who’s hurting so much that he can’t see right in front of him. He’s mean.

I hated him some of the time I wrote him. But honestly, I don’t think I’d have acted any better in his shoes which scares me.

Yes, Adam will get his happy ending.

But most importantly, so will Bay. Because Adam needs his butt kicked. And oh how I do that to him. He’s going to have to tear through those walls of his and find the wolf he could have been if he hadn’t been in pain.

This book tore at me so much that I’m even writing a second story, a novella called Forgiveness about Bay and Adam so that they can actually be happy.

Because they both deserve it. But yes, Adam is a mean hero. He has a lot of crawling on his knees to do, but Bay’s worth it.
