year finding her way won’t be easy.
Ronan gambles everything and challenges Thea: one night of
passion with him and another man. Can he prove to her that what they share
isn’t just great sex but an emotional connection strong enough to last forever?
Review
Oh man, I need a cold shower after reading this sexy little novella! Anne really knows how to write the steamy stuff!!! I was really taken with both Ronan and Thea but Ronan was my favorite of the two. He's the typical big sexy alpha male and he's firefighter. What is better than that? And he was perfect for Thea, who was no longer really living because she lost her husband a couple of years before. They are such the match made in heaven. Thea needed to be rescued and him having his hero complex needed someone to rescue. And let me tell you, he did a really REALLY good job of rescuing her. ;)
I had one little issue with the book but it didn't affect how much I enjoyed it. The scene with Thea, Ronan and Tim was a bit awkward to me. Maybe it's just me but I don't really see how sharing your woman will show her that she really only needs you. But like I said, maybe it's just me. I enjoy a good menage story every now and then but this part of the story fell kind of flat for me.

All in all, this was a great holiday read! Fun, sexy and a
little sad at times. Made for a great one sitting kind of book. I really
enjoyed it and I plan to look into this authors other books now! If you enjoy
erotica and you like those big sexy fire fighters that have a hero complex,
well then this book is for you!!!

The Wird sisters are different from every race on earth—human and supernatural. When human society is no longer an option for them, they move in among the resident vampires, werebeasts, and witches of the Lake Tahoe region. Could this be the true home they’ve longed for? Um, not quite. After the sisters accidentally strip a witch of her powers in a bar brawl, they soon realize the mistake will cost them. Because to take on a witch means to take on her coven. And losing the battle isn’t an option.

SEALED WITH A CURSE: Dec. 31st, 2012
Purchase at Amazon | Barnes & Noble
Celia Wird and her three sisters are just like other 20-something girls—with one tiny exception: they're products of a backfired curse that has given each of them unique powers that make them, well, weird…
The Wird sisters are content to avoid the local vampires, werebeasts, and witches of the Lake Tahoe region—until one of them blows up a vampire in self-defense. Everyone knows vampires aren't aggressive, and killing one is punishable by death. But soon more bloodlust-fueled attacks occur, and the community wonders: are the vampires of Tahoe cursed with a plague?
Celia reluctantly agrees to help Misha, the handsome leader of an infected vampire family. But Aric, the head of the werewolf pack determined to destroy Misha's family to keep the region safe, warns Celia to stay out of the fight. Caught between two hot alphas, Celia must find a way to please everyone, save everyone, and oh yeah, not lose her heart to the wrong guy—or die a miserable death. Because now that the evil behind the plague knows who Celia is, it’s coming for her and her sisters. This Wird girl has never had it so tough.

Book Description:
A quiet,
lakeside vacation is just what Brielle needs to decompress after her busy
concert season. She expects the weeks to pass uneventfully. Until she meets the
men next door.
Tyler and
Zeke are as adventurous and sexy as the Harleys they ride. The passion they
hear in Brielle's music draws them to her.
Convinced the
hunks are gay, Brielle lets down her inhibitions. That turns out to be the best
decision she's made in a long time.
You can read my 3 Moon review HERE
Excerpt:
Brielle had stopped at the local
market to get enough supplies for a few days. She had no intention of going to
town unless there was a darn good reason. After her clothing and other
belongings were unpacked, she opened a bottle of wine—one of several she’d
bought—and contemplated the glorious evening sun.
The rumble of motorcycles disrupted
her musings. She craned her neck to see who the offenders were.
Two men
on leather-bedecked hogs cruised down the neighboring driveway. She watched
from the seclusion of her covered porch as they got off and parked their bikes.
Leather chaps covered their jeans. Boots and black leather vests made them look
badass. She waited for them to remove their helmets and reveal more of their
features.
She
wasn’t disappointed.
One of
the broad-shouldered men had flaxen hair. The second man ran his hands through
his dark hair that reached his shoulders. Even from a distance, she could tell
they were in good physical shape, and probably in their late twenties. A twinge
of naughtiness plucked her libido. Her vacation was already looking up.
The
bike-riding neighbors unpacked their saddlebags and carried their gear into
their cabin. The door shut softly behind them and returned the peace and quiet
they’d interrupted.
Brielle
watched the sun dip lower, streaking the sky with brilliant red, orange, and
yellow against the clear blue backdrop. The deep sounds of a motoryacht’s
engines mixed with the haunting sounds from the loons.
Inspired,
she refilled her wineglass, and then brought her cello to the three-season
porch. She moved her bow across the taut strings, warming up, wondering what
she should play. She sipped her wine while searching through her extensive
music collection. Her hand rested on Bach’s Toccata
and Fugue in D Minor. Did she dare? Could she play with even half the
passion Mei Ju had the other day?
Closing
her eyes, Brielle focused on the sounds and sight of Mr. Ju on stage.
Will that ever be me?
She
drew her bow back and forth on the strings to play the fiery interludes and soulful
chords. Brielle imagined herself in front of the orchestra, the way Ju had
been, and did her best to do justice to the piece he’d played so brilliantly.
As she
played the last, low note, she noticed the two men standing on their porch,
watching her. Heat flared in her cheeks, whether from the exertion of playing
or the embarrassment of their witness, she didn’t know.
One man
began clapping.
Not
expecting that reaction, she chuckled.
“Play
something else,” said the man with the long hair.
Thinking
they were making fun of her, she closed her music and stood. “Funny guy.”
“No,
really, play some more.”
She
contemplated the request for a moment. “You’re not going to call the cops?”
The
blond one laughed. “Oh, hell no. Come on. Play something hot and sexy.”
Bolstered by
their enthusiasm, she wondered what she could play that might fit the bill.
“Just a minute.” A number of titles ran through her mind and she dismissed them
all. Ah, the perfect one.
Margie lives
in Minnesota, is married, and has two children. Some of her passions are music,
flower gardening, biking, walking on moonlit nights, nature, and making people
laugh. She also writes children's books under the pen name, Margaret Rose.

But when Nikan is assigned to act as Esperanze’s bodyguard during a weekend education conference, he knows it’s the perfect opportunity to seduce her off her feet—away from the pack.
To put his plan into motion Nikan cancels one of their hotel rooms, giving them time to get to know one another in a whole different way. But when a man from Esperanze’s past shows up in need of help, Nikan must shield her from a group of dangerous rogue shifters, all while trying to prove that they’re destined to be mates.

But when a man from Esperanze’s past shows up in need of help, Nikan must shield her from a group of dangerous rogue shifters, all while trying to prove that they’re destined to be mates.

My Review:
This was a very short and sweet novella that quenched my lupine love just a bit.
I also got a sneak peek of the first chapter of the next book of the Moon Shifter series that comes out next month, "Primal Possession", which I've been counting down to. =)
I had not been able to read for a few days now thanks to errands and school work...so I needed something to read in between college assignments that would take me away from American Government (that happens to be really boring...ugh).
"Lover's Instinct" definitely helped me get out of my rut that I was in thanks to school.
I love this new series from Katie Reus. =)
This short novella is about Nikan and Esperanze (I love her name). Esperanze is heading to a convention in Washington D.C.. She needs to get away from the pack for a bit since what happened in the first book. The pack had suffered a major loss of loved ones and are still recovering, so Esperanze thought it would be a good idea to get away for awhile and get her mind off what happened. Nikan, volunteers to go with her and protect her. Of course, Nikan has other plans in the mean time. He has always been in love with Esperanze, since the moment his pack alpha decided to hook up with Esperanze's pack alpha (who is her cousin). Esperanze has love Nikan also, but she's only a beta and she swore never to hook up with a alpha...actually a warrior class alpha. It's going to be hard for her though when Nikan becomes very possessive and protective of her when they go to the convention.
Esperanze is actually there to see her old professor too and in the meantime her professor is now a vampire and now he's in danger. It's up to Esperanze and Nikan to figure out what is going on and save her old professor from being killed. Although, it will be kind of tricky when it involves vampires and shifters...which they are supposed to be getting along.
What I loved mostly about this book was how Nikan was with Esperanze (or Essie for short). She had no clue that he loved her, but when he finally admitted it. Oh boy! =)
I think Essie is more Alpha though instead of Beta because the girl can take care of herself. =)
I loved the storyline to this book too. It was short though...but that's because it is a novella. I love reading novellas because it gives you a sneak into the world of other characters.
I loved the idea behind other supernatural creatures that were talked about in this book too. Another shifter was introduced in "Lover's Instinct" and actually helped out Essie and Nikan during their mission. I want to know more about what is going with the Vampires and Shifters though...and what the bad guys did. You'll understand when you read this short novella. I do not want to give it away. =)
Let me not forget the sex...ummm...Nikan definitely had me squirming. *sigh*
I'm looking forward to Liam's book next. I loved him in "Alpha Instinct".
I recommend this novella to Katie Reus fans, paranormal romance readers, and shifter lovers. =)
This will definitely keep you happy for next months' release. =)
Let the countdown continue to "Primal Possession". =)

Skin Deep
(I-Team After Hours #1)
Author: Pamela Clare
Publisher: Pamela Clare
Release Date: May 15, 2012
Genre: Romantic
Suspense

Description
Megan doesn’t trust men and aside from her brother and his
friend, she never let’s them touch her. Her past has taken care of that. When
she’s attacked by someone from that past and a handsome, but scarred , man
saves her and her little girl, she has her first moment of real attraction…to
him! She’s frightened but for some reason with him around, she isn’t thinking about
much other than his incredible body and how comfortable and safe she feels with
him. Maybe it is possible for her to trust a man, if only she could get past
all of the bad things she didn’t in her past…
Wounded war veteran Nathaniel West has gotten used to being
a freak, having strangers stare and point at him because half of his body and
face are covered in burn scars. It doesn’t mean he likes it though, so he
spends most of his time at home on his family’s ranch. When he meets beautiful Megan
and she looks at him, really looks at him, and isn’t disgusted, he finds he
needs to help her. Keep her safe.
Can Nate leep Megan and her daughter safe and still manage
to open his heart to her? Can Megan get over her past mistakes and finally love
a man?
Review
This was an incredible story! I love Pamela’s I-Team series
so I was SO excited when this came out, it’s a story I’ve been dying to finally
read! We first met Megan in Unlawful Contact, which was her brother Marc and
Sophie’s story. She was a very wounded girl back then so it’s nice to see her
standing on her own and actually doing well. I feel kind of proud of her for
taking care of herself and her daughter all by herself with everything she’s
been through. But she’s a very strong woman and with her brother and his
friends behind her, it’s no wonder she’s doing well.
Now for Nate…what a man…he is one of my favorite heroes! Honorable
to a fault, completely loyal and so freaking sweet! I want one just like him!
*sigh* I love that he’s wounded, not that he got wounded, but it’s kind of
fitting for a woman like Megan, who’s got so many invisible scars to fall for a
man who is covered in visible scars and the fact that he got those scars doing
something so courageous like fighting for our country! (Have I mentioned I want
one just like him?) Once he fell, he fell hard and I was so happy for them both
to have finally found someone that can fit so well into each other’s lives.
I give this book 5 Moons because well, I loved it! Pamela’s
writing is amazing as always and the story totally pulls you in, just like
always. So I recommend everyone who enjoys a good quick romantic suspense story
to read this book! Soon! It really is that good! I can’t wait for the next
one!!!
