Lisa Kessler's Moonlight Blog Tour (Character Interview/Giveaway)
We have Lisa Kessler here today with special guest *Squeee* Adam Sloan! They're here to talk about Lisa's new release! I've read it, it's really good! You can read my review HERE.
Character Interview with Adam Sloan
Hi everyone –
Thanks so much for inviting me back to Book Lovin’ Mamas!
Today I’ve brought Adam, the hero from my new release,
Moonlight… He’s promised to answer a few
questions for me without revealing any spoilers. We’ll see how we do…
So Adam, can you tell the Book Lovin’ Mamas about yourself?
*Adam shrugs his broad shoulders* I’m a horse trainer in
Reno Nevada. My stable, Whispering Pines Farm is on the outskirts of Reno, and
doubles as a meeting place for my… Family.
Lisa here, I forgot to mention that the readers here on Book
Lovin’ Mamas know about shifters and they have no trouble keeping your secret
from the rest of the world, so anything you say about the Pack will be safe
here.
Really? *Adam crosses his arms over his chest, not looking
convinced*
Yes… *Lisa nods* Anna already read your book. Trust me, your
secrets are safe here. *Lisa smiles and prods again* How is the Pack doing? The
second book picks up six months after Moonlight ends. Can you share a little of
what’s been going on?
*the corner of his mouth curves into a crooked sexy smile*
You said no spoilers, so I’m going to be a little vague. Aren’s been out of town often lately, and I’m
worried about him. For anyone who doesn’t know, he’s my twin brother. All male
werewolves are born as a set of identical twins. Aren is my younger brother by
a half hour. We used to be inseparable, but things have been crazy lately with
my new…job… within the Pack. I worry about him, but I can’t get him to talk to
me.
Okayyyy… *Lisa notices a simple gold band on the ring finger
of his left hand and smiles* How are you enjoying married life?
*Adam grins before he can stop himself* I thought you said
no spoilers?
*Lisa rolls her eyes nodding* I know I did, but I can’t help
it… How are things with Lana?
She’s amazing. Her life has been turned upside down, but she
never complains. She embraces the Pack, even the members who are still hesitant
to accept her. She loves me unconditionally, and always has my back, but she
also isn’t afraid to get in my face when I need it. I have no idea how I lived
without her. *he shakes his head, almost whispering* I never knew I could love
someone so much.
*Lisa reshapes her melty heart* Do you mind if I share your
Pinterest board?
*he opens his hands* Go for it…
Woot! Okay everyone; here is the Moonlight Pinterest board… http://pinterest.com/ldydisney/scenes-from-moonlight/
And Adam has promised to check the blog through the day and
answer questions, so feel free to ask him anything! J
Thanks again to Anna for the blog spot!

BLURB: Rancher
Adam Sloan is more than meets the eye. As the heir to his Pack, the sexy
werewolf’s biggest challenge is keeping his kin’s true nature under wraps. But
a group of jaguar shifters threatens to reveal the pack, blasting into town
killing humans in plain sight. And when he smells one at the local diner, his
standing orders are to take her out.
Lana Turpin doesn’t realize she’s a moving target. Raised in the
foster system, she only knows that she blacks out during the new moon and wakes
up without remembering a thing. But now she’s being tracked by some strange
organization that wants her back—even though she’s never stepped foot inside
their compound. And the stranger across the diner is watching her like an
enemy.
It should
be a simple mission for Adam, but when he touches the frustratingly beautiful
Lana, his inner wolf howls…mate. Now,
the two must find and stop the people who hunt her…and Adam must keep his own
family from killing the only woman he will ever love.

Cover Reveal: "Werewolves Be Damned" by Stacey Kennedy
Werewolves Be Damned
(A Magic & Mayhem Novel)
by: Stacey Kennedy
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Release Date: 4/15/13
Pre-order at Barnes & Noble | Amazon
Description:
Nexi Jones—part witch, part guardian, and wannabe kick-ass warrior—can’t throw a punch or conjure the simplest magic. But that doesn’t stop her from hunting the werewolves who slaughtered her human family. She’ll have her revenge, but only if Kyden, the elite guardian, would get the hell out of her way.
Kyden can’t decide if Nexi wants to get herself killed or if she just has no clue what she’s doing. But her father made it clear: keep Nexi safe…or else. Of course, the more Nexi runs toward revenge, the more she needs Kyden’s aid, and as she grows into her power and confidence, so does his desire to protect her. The only problem? She’d rather he dropped dead.
But when a vampire paints a bull's-eye on Nexi’s back, she’s hard-pressed to deny Kyden and the help he’s offering. Even if it means getting her revenge will be a little bit harder. At least it will still be as sweet."
I’ve found you, fur ball.
Nexi peered from behind the large oak tree
and spotted the small log cabin nestled in the thick forest. The porch light
cast a warm glow into the night. Fog settled over the lush grass, and the night
was dark, eerie.
Stepping away from her hiding place behind
the tree, she strode forward and gripped the dagger tightly in her hand.
Keeping the silver blade pointed outward, she climbed the cabin’s porch steps,
taking each one slowly to avoid detection.
Once she arrived at the front door, she
wrapped her hand around the door handle. Rich hunger for revenge burned in her
veins and made her intent on one thing: to slaughter the werewolf who escaped
the night of her parents’ murder. Not caring what awaited her, she stormed
inside, dagger pointed, ready to kill.
The simple cabin had two large brown couches
near a wood-burning stove, a kitchenette behind the living room, and a
quilt-covered bed resting in the back. And that was it; there were no other
rooms to investigate. No secret hiding places she could see.
No damned werewolf.
She cursed, shut the front door behind her,
then trotted down the steps to return to her hiding spot. On her way across the
yard, she glanced at the space to the right of the tree, which looked much like
a heat wave, indicating that the portal to the Otherworld remained.
In some places around the world—or the
Earthworld, as supernaturals had called it—there were permanent portals to the
supernatural realm. This portal had only appeared because Nexi had travelled to
this cabin from the Otherworld. Once she passed through the portal again, the
gateway would vanish.
Magic had its perks. Quick travel was one of
them.
Nexi shook her head at how normal all this
magical stuff seemed now. Just over a month ago she’d never believed in
anything that went bump in the night. Now she knew all those things existed,
and in fact, she was one of them.
To her horror, she had learned that her birth
mother, Tillie, had been murdered by a power-hungry vampire, Lazarus. All those years ago, her birth father, Drake,
had protectively decided to block Nexi’s supernatural abilities. He had planned
for her to live and die as a mortal. Now with her return to the Otherworld and
the removal of the block on her true identity, there was no going back.
She was no longer plain, human, Nexi Jones.
She was Nexi Jones, part guardian, part
witch.
Looking away from the portal and to her
hiding spot until the werewolf returned, she hurried her steps. She wasn’t
ready to return to the Otherworld yet. Not until she had the werewolf’s head as
her wall ornament would she dare go home.
Just as she neared the tree, a woodsy scent
that had nothing to do with the forest mixed with the citrusy aroma of
aftershave. A blink of an eye later, the dagger she held was now at her throat,
a hard body closed in on her back.
“You smelled lovely when you arrived.” The
low voice by her ear held a faint English accent. “But I never imagined you’d
be so pretty.”
The blade pressed into her skin, not drawing
blood, but implying that if the werewolf chose, she’d be destined for the
grave. “I’m…”
“Going to explain yourself.” He lowered the
dagger, took hold of her arm, and jerked her forward.
In a few short strides, the werewolf tossed
her through the threshold of the cabin, and slammed the door behind them. He
sauntered to the couch, sat down, and regarded her. “Now then, darlin’.” His olive
skin was stunningly flawless, and his chocolate-colored hair was spiked tall.
“Why would a pretty lass like yourself plan to attack me?”
“Don’t move.” That charm wouldn’t fool her.
“Stay right where you are.”
“My mouth is the only thing moving.” His slanted
amber eyes raked over her. “Would you like me to stop talking?”
“No.” She hesitated then added, “Only your
mouth can move. Nothing else. Tell me what you know.”
He gave her a long look. “I’d be glad to tell
you anything you’d like, love.”
His kind face and soft voice wouldn’t trick
her. He was a werewolf. She was certain, which was another oddity.
After the block on her supernatural abilities
had been lifted, she could identify a supernatural creature as if knowing the
difference between a brunette and a redhead. “Tell me why you killed my
family.”
“That’s an interesting accusation.” He cocked
his head, studying her with a frown. “But I think the more important question
is who are you?”
She lifted her chin. “The lass who’s
going to cut off your furry wolf balls.”

Thank you so much for
having me today on Book Lovin’ Mamas!
I’m thrilled to talk about CAPTURED HEART, my newly released16th
century, Scottish romance with paranormal elements! CH is Entangled
Publishing’s debut Scottish historical and is in their Entangled Select line.
The idea for CAPTURED
HEART started over thirteen years ago. In fact, this was my “first born” book. Although
when I wrote it the first time it had 40,000 extra words, different character
names, and every strange scene I’d ever imagined all stuck into one hefty tome.
After completing four other books, I came back to CAPTURED HEART, having developed
my voice and writing technique. I shaved off the extra words and rewrote it
into the romantic adventure it was always meant to be.
Meg is a healer fleeing
the man who killed her mother by accusing her of practicing witchcraft. The art
or “magic” of healing has always fascinated me as well as the sociology behind
fear of the occult in times past. So much of what we know today about medicine
would have been magic back in the 16th century. Meg possesses a
supernatural power to heal, but she doesn’t know how to use the glowing blue
light she can conjure. The power is more of a curse than a gift until she meets
her aunt who teaches her to wield and appreciate it.
There is also a fine
line, which I’ve learned first-hand this year as I fought cancer, between
healing someone to life and healing someone to death. A lot of our miracle
medicines are poisons. Doctors need to know how much and when to dose a patient
or the cure becomes lethal. Meg experiences this as she fights for the people she
loves. She is a bit like Florence Nightingale mixed with the goddess Diana and
a healthy dose of blue healing magic.
Caden Macbain, the hero
of CAPTUED HEART, is the perfect Highland clan chief. He’s been raised as a
rugged warrior but has an intellect that makes him question the reasons behind
war. I love this about him! He’s built a system of accountability for himself
by visiting ten cottages in his village every day to talk with his people. So
when he is enraged and wants to react foolishly out of revenge or some other
selfish emotion, he recalls the faces of the men, women and children who depend
on him to act with honor and in their interests, not his own. It chains him to
the right path in a time when many leaders acted recklessly to further their own
pursuits.
As a chief to a large
clan, Caden is definitely alpha-male, doesn’t talk much and doesn’t reveal his
plans except when he must. He is just as capable of surviving as a lone wolf as
he is leading a clan away from the brink of starvation. He can slice an
Englishman from stem to stern yet pluck a leaf from Meg’s wild curls. He could
have many women but decides that he wants only one. Ah, and there is the
conflict. What if the one he wants is the one whose sacrifice will save his
clan?
The villain of CAPTURED
HEART is Meg’s father, Rowland Boswell. Meg learned to fear the man when he had
her mother burned at the stake for witchcraft when Meg was only five years old.
When he comes to marry Meg off and she runs, he believes she must know his
secret, the secret he killed his first wife for in order to keep it. Just like
a cornered animal will strike out of fear, Rowland Boswell chases Meg into the
Highlands, determined to stop her from exposing his darkest desires and lust
for royal power.
CAPTURED HEART is the
first novel in a trilogy that blends magic and history in the time of Henry
VIII. TANGLED HEARTS is the second book and follows Caden’s best friend to the
English court where he must battle through the web of royal intrigue to help the
most complicated lass he’s ever met. He finds that a battle of wits at the
Tudor court can be just as deadly as a battle of steel on the moors.
HIGHLAND HEART, the
prequel to CAPTURED HEART, is a novella which introduces the Macbain/Munro
legend. It follows Rachel and Alec Munro on their mad adventure as Rachel’s
annoyance and Alec’s curiosity clash and turn into passion. HH will be released
in Entangled’s Flirt line later this year.
Thank you so much for
having me today! I hope these characters will capture your heart as much as
they have captured mine.

Welcome to Book Lovin' Mamas! Thank you for being here today!
Q) Could you tell us 3 things about yourself
that we can’t learn on the internet?
1.
I spent
two years living in a convent—okay well almost in a convent—while working as a
volunteer in Zambia (And I have to say, I’d make a terrible nun!)
2.
The first
ever story I remember writing was about a talking horse. I think I was nine
years old at the time.
3.
I’m only
five foot one. I usually keep very quiet about this as I like people to think
I’m bigger.
Q) What inspired you to become a writer?
Reading. I’ve always been an avid reader and thought it would be a
wonderful thing to be able to write my own stories. But the actual writing came
about because of a lack of reading material. Back in my twenties, I spent some
time working as a volunteer in Africa. We were based in a village on the edge
of Lake Kariba and we had no TV, no internet, and very little access to books.
I started writing then as a withdrawal symptom, and as a means of keeping
myself entertained.
Q) Do you have any rituals or traditions for
when you start a new book or series?
None. I hate routines, so tend to avoid them in my writing. However, I
am a total plotter. So I’ll always spend some time plotting before I start
writing. But again, I don’t have any one way that I plot, it varies with each
book.
Q) Where do you find your inspiration when
writing a book?
Everywhere.
Other books I read, TV programs (the inspiration for Break Out came mainly from
the TV series, Firefly, which I have watched numerous times). Often just when
I’m out riding or walking the dogs I’ll see something and it will trigger an
idea. I love the whole ‘what if’ thing and seem to do it automatically these
days – usually it’s what if something bad happens though.
Q) If you could be any character, which one
would you pick and why?
This probably changes at regular intervals, depending on what I’m
reading. But right now I’d like to be Mac out of Karen Marie Moning’s Fever
series (which I just read for the second time) because I am totally in love
with Jericho Barrons!
Now for a
few fun questions.
Q) Summer or Winter?
Definitely summer. I love being hot.
Q) Sweet or Salty?
Salty.
Q) Sunrise or Sunset
Sunrise.
When I was younger I was a night person. Now I’m an early morning person
especially in the summer.
Q) Beach or Mountains
It’s a
close one. I live in the mountains but I love to visit the beach.
Q) Country Music or Rock
and Roll?
Both
Thank you
so much for letting us get to know you a little bit better and for being here
today!
Nina
Croft grew up in the north of England. After training as an accountant, she
spent four years working as a volunteer in Zambia, which left her with a love
of the sun and a dislike of 9-5 work. She then spent a number of years mixing
travel (whenever possible) with work (whenever necessary) but has now settled
down to a life of writing and picking almonds on a remote farm in the mountains
of southern Spain.
Nina
writes all types of romance often mixed with elements of the paranormal and
science fiction.
